Many people believe that a large income equals success.I believe, however, that success is morethan how much money you make.Some of those measures of success include fame, respect,and knowledge.Most people assume that famous people are rich people, but that isn’t always true.Forexample, some day I would like to be a famous researcher.Few scientists are rich by today’sstandards.Still I will feel myself to be successful if I am well-known.Additionally, there are manyfamous humanitarians who are not rich.Mother Theresa was one.Certainly, no one would sayshe was not successful.I also believe that being respected by coworkers indicates success.Without that respect,money means little.For example, I once did some work for a top attorney in a law firm.Hemade a very good salary, but he wasn’t a nice man.No one ever did work for him willingly.Heorderd everyone around, and we didn’t respect him.In contrast, however, I had a wonderfulband director in high school.He had to take extra jobs just to make enough money tosupport his family.However, his students had great respect for him and always listened to whathe said.As a result, we were a very good band.In my opinion, my band director was moresuccessful than the attorney was.Finally, I think one of the most important indicators of success is knowledge.Wealthy peopledon’t know all the answers.For example, in the movie Good Will Hunting, the only person whocould solve some complex problems was the janitor.He knew a lot, and decided what hewanted to do with that knowledge rather than just think about money.In my opinion, he wasextremely successful.When we think of history, there are few people that we remember simply because they wererich.Overall, we remember people who did something with their lives-they were influential inpolitics, or contributed to science or art or religion.If history is the ultimate judge of success,then money surely isn’t everything.

是什么決定了成功?

是金錢?李嘉誠、戴爾在創業的時候，比他們有錢的人太多了。是機遇?同齡人所處的時代背景一樣，歷史機遇也差不多。誰不是天上掉餡餅除外，自己低頭挖坑為主?

我第一次見王永慶，他講到xx戰后經濟復興。他說人一生總有一次成功機會，這個機會不是你自己創造的，而是你生活的時代給你的，但這個機會只有一次。譬如很多人認為戰后是一個廢墟，而他卻認為這是個機會。這個只來一次的機會，被他趕上了。

這就是一個差別——在金錢和時代以外，大家對現實世界的看法有很多差異。我想，正是這些差異導致了人們行為方式的不同，這些行為方式的不同就決定了他做事方法的不同，而做事方法的不同就決定了天下的人才、資源、他眼前的機會跟他之間的關系。

很久以前，柳傳志還不是聯想的股東，也沒有錢。當時很多人讓他改制。按照一般人的邏輯，應該抓住這個機會。但是柳傳志認為，所有事情都不能90度的急轉彎，急轉彎會翻車。所以他說事情要順著走，該得到的都會得到。

之前，像褚時健，他對錢的態度是做了這么多事，應該得到錢。他看到錢在門口轉了這么久還不進自己的口袋，就急，就吞了300萬美金，其結果大家也知道。

后來，王石開了8小時的汽車去看他。談到對錢的態度，王石說人生就是名利。在中國，你要利就別要名，要名那就不要利，因為在中國你活得好就是對別人的摧殘。所以王石說，在商場，我決定要名不要利。于是他做了職業經理人。前年以前，他的工資還不如我們公司的經理，但是他創造的利潤是我們的五倍以上。

在這些成功商人的背后，他們對錢的看法、對生活的態度有一個非常本質的，和普通人不一樣的認識——大家都在抓錢的時候，他們刻意或者自然地與錢保持距離。他們對中國社會有種看法，知道在中國社會，應該跟外部世界保持距離，也就是你的存在最好能夠讓大家舒服。

What is money?someone says it is nothing while others say it is the

most important thing in their life and without it they can’t live any longer.It said:money is not everything ,but without it you can’t do any thing.In my opinion, it is right.but we should also hold a right attitude to it.You must heard that story that a rich man want to find happyness, at last he found it in a poor man’s life.Sometimes we think that the rich persons are the happiest ones in the world.However, it is not.The more money they have ,the more morose they feel.In fact, without money,we can have an interesting and exciting life aslo.So having lots money or less money is not the important thing , the important thing is weather we are happy or not,is it that make our life full of wonderful thing.金錢

什么是錢呢?有人說這算不得甚麼還有些人說這是最重要的,在他們的生活中沒有了它,他們不能活了。

它說:金錢不是萬能的,但是沒有了它你不能做任何東西。在我看來,它是正確的。但是我們也要舉行一個正確的態度。

你一定聽說的故事,一個富有的人想找到快樂,最后他發現在窮人的生活。有時候我們認為富有的人是最幸福的人,在世界上。

然而,它不是。隨著更多的資金,更憂郁的他們自己的感受。事實上,沒有錢,我們就能有一個有趣的而刺激的生活也一樣。

所以有許多錢或更少的錢不是最重要的,重要的是我們度過快樂與否,它使我們的生活充滿了美妙的事情。

金錢很重要，但金錢絕不是一切。有許多東西是我們用金錢買不到的。金錢值多少錢?健康、真愛、智慧，它們又值多少?我敢打賭沒有人能說得出來，因為它們是無價的。多少錢也無法買到時間、健康、真愛和智慧。這樣，你還會認為金錢就是一切嗎?

Money is something.But money is not everything.There are many precious things that we can't buy with money.How much does time cost?And how much is health? True love? Wisdom? I bet no one knows.They are priceless.Money can buy none of them.So would you still think that money is everything?

Today, I will give you a speech.The title of the speech is Can Money Buy Happiness? It is true that with enough money one can buy all the things one wants, and live a comfort and security life.However, it is equally true that lack of money causes great distress.It is a common view that “money is the root of all evil.” The pursuit of money drives many people to cheat and steal.In some places there is nothing that cannot be bought with money, resulting in corrupt societies where everybody is miserable.So, money does not necessarily mean happiness.It all depends on how it is used.If we make honest and sensible use of money, it can be a stepping-stone to happiness.Although money cannot buy happiness, it can make happiness possible if it is employed sensibly.大家好！

今天是我的演講。金錢能買來幸福嗎? 金錢能買來幸福嗎?不同的人有不同的回答。有的人認為能，有的人則持相反的意見。

誠然一個人如果有足夠的錢可以買到他想要的所有物品，過上舒適穩定的生活。然而，同樣缺錢往往引起巨大的憂傷。人們常常認為“金錢是萬惡之源”，對金錢的追求驅使許多人去騙去偷。在某些地方，沒有錢買不到的東西，導致社會的腐化墮落。

所以，金錢并不一定就意味著幸福。這取決于怎樣使用金錢，如果我們誠信明智地使用金錢，它將是幸福的基石。盡管金錢買不到幸福，但它可以使幸福成為可能。
