一、情境教學(xué)的內(nèi)涵和理論基礎(chǔ)
(一)情境教學(xué)的內(nèi)涵
情境,是一種生活場面。情境教學(xué)是從教學(xué)的需要出發(fā),教師依據(jù)教材創(chuàng)設(shè)以形象為主體,富有感情色彩的具體場景或氛圍,激發(fā)和吸引學(xué)生主動學(xué)習(xí),達(dá)到最佳教
[2]學(xué)效果的一種教學(xué)方法。而小學(xué)英語情境教學(xué)是指教師在英語教學(xué)中運(yùn)用實(shí)物、體態(tài)語、電教、表演等多種活動和手段,為學(xué)生創(chuàng)設(shè)一個個形象逼真的場景,營造良好的教學(xué)氣氛和生動的語言環(huán)境,從而把教學(xué)內(nèi)容巧妙地融入其中,讓學(xué)生置身于類似現(xiàn)實(shí)、自然的情境中用英語進(jìn)行交際,感受英語教學(xué)的真實(shí)性,繼而充分調(diào)動學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)英語的積極性。
(二)情境教學(xué)的理論基礎(chǔ)
情境教學(xué)在國內(nèi)外外語教學(xué)中正逐步得到重視和運(yùn)用,并取得了良好的教學(xué)效果,它有著深厚的理論基礎(chǔ)。
1、直觀教學(xué)原理
心理學(xué)研究認(rèn)為“新穎的、活動的、直觀形象的刺激物,最容易引起人大腦皮層有關(guān)部位的興奮,形成優(yōu)勢的興奮灶”。情境教學(xué)最直接地體現(xiàn)直觀教學(xué)原理,通過教師有目的地引入或創(chuàng)設(shè)情景,刺激學(xué)生的視覺和聽覺感官,讓學(xué)生感知、理解、運(yùn)用所學(xué)知識,使抽象的知識具體化,減少掌握抽象概念的困難,縮短認(rèn)知的時間,提高了學(xué)習(xí)效率。

心理學(xué)研究表明:人的情感具有兩極性,它總是趨向于熱愛和肯定的事物而避開厭惡和否定的事物。情境教學(xué)中創(chuàng)設(shè)情境就是引導(dǎo)學(xué)生“樂學(xué)”,通過情境調(diào)動學(xué)生健康的情感體驗(yàn),喚起學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)的愉悅,促使學(xué)生以學(xué)為樂,使學(xué)習(xí)活動成為學(xué)生主動進(jìn)行的快樂的事情。
二、情境教學(xué)的現(xiàn)實(shí)需要和實(shí)踐意義
(一)小學(xué)英語課堂中實(shí)施情境教學(xué)的現(xiàn)實(shí)需要
1、從小學(xué)生的心理考慮
小學(xué)3~6年級的學(xué)生處在9~12歲之間。這個年齡段的孩子具有好奇、好活動、愛表現(xiàn)、善模仿等特點(diǎn)。他們對陌生的英語具有好奇心,很少有羞怯感,喜歡引起別人的注意,聽覺敏捷,模仿力和記憶力強(qiáng),形象思維好。[7]在小學(xué)英語課堂中運(yùn)用不同方式創(chuàng)設(shè)豐富、有趣、生動形象的教學(xué)情境,讓學(xué)生在模擬情境的過程中感受文化并獲取知識。這樣,既充分發(fā)揮了小學(xué)生的心理優(yōu)勢,同時也激發(fā)了學(xué)生的學(xué)習(xí)興趣,大大地提高了學(xué)生的學(xué)習(xí)積極性。
2.從新課標(biāo)的要求考慮
英語課程改革的重點(diǎn)是要改變英語課程過分重視語法和詞匯知識的講解與傳授,忽視對學(xué)生實(shí)際語言運(yùn)用能力的培養(yǎng)的傾向,強(qiáng)調(diào)課程從學(xué)生的學(xué)習(xí)興趣、生活經(jīng)驗(yàn)和認(rèn)知水平出發(fā),倡導(dǎo)體驗(yàn)、實(shí)踐、參與、合作與交流的學(xué)習(xí)方式和任務(wù)型的教學(xué)途徑,發(fā)展學(xué)生的綜合語言運(yùn)用能力,使語言學(xué)習(xí)的過程成為學(xué)生形成積極的情感態(tài)度、[9]主動思維和大膽實(shí)踐,提高跨文化意識和形成自己學(xué)習(xí)能力的過程。把情境運(yùn)用到小學(xué)英語教學(xué)中,就構(gòu)成了充分利用形象、創(chuàng)設(shè)典型場景、激發(fā)學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)情緒、把認(rèn)知活動與情感活動結(jié)合起來的一種教學(xué)模式,從而更好地達(dá)到新課標(biāo)知情統(tǒng)一的要求。
(二)小學(xué)英語課堂中運(yùn)用情境教學(xué)的實(shí)踐意義
1、降低教學(xué)難度,便于解決問題
在整個小學(xué)階段,兒童思維從具體形象思維逐漸過渡到以抽象邏輯思維為主要形式,但仍帶有很大的具體性。小學(xué)英語情境教學(xué)通過再現(xiàn)教材內(nèi)容的相關(guān)情境,利用鮮明、具體的角色效應(yīng),鼓勵學(xué)生自己去琢磨、提議案,并嘗試去發(fā)現(xiàn)知識,尋求解決問題的方法,從而拓寬了教學(xué)空間,增強(qiáng)了實(shí)踐感悟,便于學(xué)生對教材理解得更透徹,更全面。如教師讓學(xué)生四人小組合作扮演課文對話,再讓學(xué)生聯(lián)系生活情境,在原對話的基礎(chǔ)上稍作修改,使之成為一個新的日常生活對話。這樣,在活動過程中既使學(xué)生親身體驗(yàn)角色,又使學(xué)生有嘗試創(chuàng)造的機(jī)會。
2、激發(fā)學(xué)生興趣,提高學(xué)習(xí)能力
創(chuàng)設(shè)形式多樣、活潑有趣的課堂教學(xué)情境,有利于激發(fā)學(xué)生的學(xué)習(xí)興趣,并提高其學(xué)習(xí)能力。如教六年級學(xué)生“What do you have for dinner today? I have??.”這對句型時,教師巧設(shè)去超市買菜準(zhǔn)備晚餐的生活情境,把剛學(xué)過的幾個事物單詞作為超市的食物列單。然后讓學(xué)生四人小組合作,在超市里選好自己喜歡的食物并共同“煮”出一道菜,用上“I have__,__.”的句型說出這道菜式的原材料。最后還要從各小組中競選出“healthy meals”、“best dishes”、“new dishes”這三類,分別給予相應(yīng)獎勵。由于教師所創(chuàng)設(shè)的語言情境與生活情境極為相似,激發(fā)了學(xué)生濃厚的學(xué)習(xí)興趣,并從有趣的活動中培養(yǎng)了學(xué)生的實(shí)踐能力、觀察能力和創(chuàng)新能力。
3、引導(dǎo)積極參與,改善師生關(guān)系
我們常說,教育應(yīng)曉之以理,動之以情。這樣就能讓學(xué)生逐漸從被動接受的束縛中逃脫出來,積極地參與到教學(xué)活動中,師生共同營造出樂學(xué)、好學(xué)、民主、平等的和諧氛圍。例如,在教授“Is this your???Yes, it is./No,it isn’t.”這組句型時,教師隨意抽取了一列小組的文具,隨后用新句型與學(xué)生進(jìn)行一問一答,讓這一小組的學(xué)生逐一認(rèn)領(lǐng)出自己的文具。學(xué)生覺得這種方式新鮮、有趣,在這種師生共同營造的樂學(xué)、好學(xué)的互動氛圍下,很快就記住新句型了。
三、情境教學(xué)在小學(xué)英語課堂教學(xué)中的應(yīng)用
(一)激情引趣,帶入情境
1、以歌引趣,活躍課堂氛圍
在上課之前,組織學(xué)生唱英文歌曲,這是營造良好的英語課堂氛圍的一個很有效的方法。歌曲具有優(yōu)美的旋律,明快的節(jié)奏,活潑的形式,將唱歌這種形式運(yùn)用到小學(xué)英語課堂教學(xué)中去,能使孩子們集中注意力,提高興趣,樂于求知。
2、語言描述,激起學(xué)習(xí)興趣
在教學(xué)導(dǎo)入環(huán)節(jié)中,教師可用簡單易懂的話語,作繪聲繪色的故事描述,引導(dǎo)學(xué)生進(jìn)入情境。例如:叫《PEP小學(xué)英語3A》的動物單詞時,教師可以一邊用幻燈片打出動物園的圖片,一邊播放輕快的音樂。然后繪聲繪色地說:“Today,we will go to a zoo.In the zoo,you can see many animals.Look!There is a monkey in the tree??.”教師邊說邊附以動作或一些動物的叫聲作為提示,每講一處,讓學(xué)生猜出所描述的動物。讓學(xué)生完全陶醉于教師創(chuàng)設(shè)的故事情境當(dāng)中,學(xué)生自然就會帶著濃厚的興趣去學(xué)習(xí)有趣的動物名稱。語言環(huán)境的創(chuàng)設(shè)往往是學(xué)生英語聽力水平提高的關(guān)鍵。

1、實(shí)物演示情境
心理學(xué)家研究表明,向?qū)W習(xí)者展示實(shí)物,其識別時間只需0.4秒。由此可見,教學(xué)所展示的形象愈是鮮明,愈是具體,就愈能縮短感知的時間,激發(fā)學(xué)生認(rèn)識的興趣,提高教學(xué)效率。[10]根據(jù)小學(xué)生這一心理特點(diǎn),教師可通過呈現(xiàn)實(shí)物的方式讓學(xué)生快速記憶新單詞,形成具體形象與抽象符號的聯(lián)結(jié)。如,教師在教授《PEP小學(xué)英語4A》Recycle1中的一個新詞組“curly hair”時,靈機(jī)一動,指著自己的卷發(fā)告訴學(xué)生“I have curly hair.”學(xué)生馬上就能理解并記住了“curly hair”的意思。
