1956年9月26日至1969年4月13日，入黨時間為支部大會通過為預備黨員之日，黨員的黨齡從支部大會通過為正式黨員之日起算。

1969年4月14日至1977年8月17日，無預備期，入黨時間從支部大會通過之日（須經上級黨委批準）算起，黨齡同時起算。

1977年8月18日至1982年9月5日，入黨時間為上級黨委批準其預備黨員之日，預備期一年，黨齡從轉為正式黨員之日起算。

1982年9月6日至今，入黨時間是通過為預備黨員之日（須經上級黨委批準），預備期一年。黨員的黨齡，從預備期滿轉為正式黨員之日起算。

特殊情況下黨齡怎么算？

1.被延長預備期的黨員，其黨齡從延長預備期滿后被批準為正式黨員之日算起。

2.受留黨察看處分的黨員，恢復黨員權利以后，其黨齡連續計算。

3.被錯誤地開除后又恢復黨籍的黨員，其黨齡應連續計算。

4.因自行脫黨、勸退出黨、要求退黨而出黨或被開除黨籍的人重新入黨后，其黨齡以重新入黨后轉為正式黨員之日算起，以前一段的黨齡不能計算在內。

5.由于各種原因失掉一段時間黨籍的同志黨齡的計算，應根據不同情況處理：

凡經黨組織決定恢復這段時間黨籍的，其黨齡從原被批準為正式黨員之日算起；

被批準重新入黨，有預備期的，其黨齡從預備期滿轉為正式黨員之日算起；

按有關文件規定重新入黨，沒有預備期的，其黨齡應從上級黨委決定重新入黨之日算起，前一段黨齡不能連續計算。

五、關于刑事拘留時間與治安拘留時間的折抵問題對于刑事拘留時間與治安拘留時間是否可以相互折抵問題，應當根據不同情形分別處理。
