this is me and we are looking at a dragon’s tooth.this is a true story./chuzhong/chusan/ years ago, james lived in qingdao.then he was only 5 years old.he often visited the aquarium and was fascinated by a creature on display there, which he thought was a dragon.he was afraid of its sharp teeth and wanted one to keep as a treasure.in the late 1930s, when the japanese occupied qingdao, his family had to leave.on his last day in qingdao, he ran to the aquarium and pulled out one of the teeth from the dragon’s mouth.he kept the tooth for the next 65 years, but the feeling of guilt at having stolen it was there in the background all through his life.it was always on his conscience, and the feeling intensified as he became older.finally he decided to put right his childish error.in 20xx, he visited qingdao and returned it to the aquarium with his sincere apologies.he received a warm welcome.when james visited qingdao, i accompanied him all the time and reported on his visit.i was deeply touched by his honesty.it has taught me a lot.i think to err is human.the important thing is to have the courage to admit and correct one’s error.honesty is a vital quality of human behaviour.so we should try to keep an honest mind in everything we say and do.i would like to say to all of my friends: let’s be honest people of good moral character.thank you.ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls，i am chinese.i am proud of being a chinese with five thousand years of civilization behind.

my life has never been the same since.i used bigger heels to complement my height and psychological maneuvers and tricks to hide my lack of confidence.but no matter how hard i tried to look the part, there was still something missing.as president of english club, i organized the rehearsal of snow white for an english party.unfortunately, we could not find an actor to be the last dwarf.it had to be someone who was humorous by nature and fluent in english.suddenly, all eyes turned to me, and i knew i would have to be the dwarf.to my great surprise and delight, once on stage, i was totally absorbed in the performance and my humorous nature was put to full use.as the dwarf, i was a big hit.yes, each of us is only one among millions of others, but each of us is an individual and each of us is unique.cultivating our individuality will transform our lives, making of them a kaleidoscope of new colors and textures.a world deprived of diversity would be a bland and boring place.the real tragedy is not being short or shy or ugly, but having your identity lost in a world in which everyone is a clone of a model cool boy or a flawless charming girl.given a choice, i would rather be ugly than live in such a world.i’d rather be a genuine dwarf accompanying a snow white than be a snow white among nothing but snow whites.i would rather be myself.i would contribute my individual and unique colors to create a more diverse universe.please, be yourself.

peace lays a foundation to development. but because of the development, social problems and environmental problems have become serious global problems. over-population makes us ask for more resources from the limited ones. it causes natural resources fearfully scarce. if we keep on doing so, we will of course lose our reliable living space at last.

apart from the environment we had broke at home ,we chinese also have no sense to protect it when traveling abroad. therefore chinese travelers’ behaviors in foreign countries have made the native intolerable the foreigners have the bad influence about our country.

so i think the sentence of global citizenship begins at home means that everyone should be the global citizen ,should take the responsibility to protect our mother land al citizenship begins at home ,let we do it through the children and the parents ,through the school and the society, thou the government e’s an old saying : action speaks louder than words. let’s act now . thank you all attention.

第一、充分利用好英語早自習(xí)

在教學(xué)實(shí)踐中，我深深地感覺到利用好英語早自習(xí)對學(xué)生起到事半功倍的作用。我還記得高一時汪澤海老師曾肯定的告訴我“書讀百遍，其義自現(xiàn)。作為語言類學(xué)科，英語和語文都要讓學(xué)生自主的讀”。現(xiàn)在想來確實(shí)如此，語感的形成，英語的運(yùn)用都離不開朗讀。不僅要讀，而且聲音要大，李陽瘋狂英語中說，大聲朗讀能刺激大腦神經(jīng)和口腔肌肉，只有大聲的讀才能讓眼，耳，心，嘴都利用起來，以達(dá)到全身心的投入，精力才能集中起來。

有時為了增進(jìn)對課文或知識點(diǎn)的理解，學(xué)生讀的同時，我也讀。因?yàn)閷W(xué)生比我更年輕，聲音理當(dāng)比我的宏亮，所以當(dāng)我發(fā)現(xiàn)個別學(xué)生只見其口形不聞其聲時，我便開玩笑說他“裝斯文，有勁不使”。久而久之，學(xué)生養(yǎng)成了大聲早讀的習(xí)慣，當(dāng)讀書聲變小時，只要我拿書開始讀，他們便條件反射般聲音大起來了。

第二、強(qiáng)化詞匯、句型、語篇教學(xué)

記住英語單詞是學(xué)好英語的前提條件，在詞匯教學(xué)方面，我喜歡把重點(diǎn)放在英語詞匯的習(xí)慣用法、短語固定搭配、慣用句型上，并要求學(xué)生熟練掌握構(gòu)詞規(guī)律。我主張學(xué)生把單詞放在句子中去記憶，這樣不僅對單詞的印象更深刻，而且知道怎么靈活運(yùn)用新單詞。在課文教學(xué)方面，強(qiáng)調(diào)句型和語篇的有機(jī)聯(lián)系，要求學(xué)生以句子為單位，有選擇地背一些重要句型，這樣既可減輕學(xué)生過重的學(xué)習(xí)負(fù)擔(dān)，又可達(dá)到提高書面表達(dá)能力的效果。

第三、巧抓閱讀，促進(jìn)寫作

閱讀既是一種能力，又是語言學(xué)習(xí)的一種重要方法。從某種意義上說，閱讀能力的強(qiáng)弱直接關(guān)系到學(xué)生高考筆試成績的高低。我堅(jiān)持指導(dǎo)課余或課堂上給予部分時間每天做1至2篇閱讀題。上課之前或下課前10分鐘我會有意識的帶著學(xué)生一起閱讀《英語輔導(dǎo)報(bào)》的彩頁閱讀版本，這不僅使學(xué)生也使我自己更加了解英美國家的文化背景，開闊視野的同時豐富了語言知識，擴(kuò)大了詞匯量。上好閱讀課，對學(xué)生運(yùn)用英語常用句型、寫好英語短文大有裨益。因此，我常鼓勵學(xué)生盡量根據(jù)上下文猜測詞義，使之逐漸提高閱讀速度，獲得獨(dú)立閱讀的能力，更好地配合課堂教學(xué)，鞏固教學(xué)成果。完形填空、閱讀理解、簡答題和閱讀填空每周堅(jiān)持交替練習(xí)。鼓勵學(xué)生每天勤查字典，養(yǎng)成充分利用工具書的好習(xí)慣。重視學(xué)生良好學(xué)習(xí)習(xí)慣、良好答題習(xí)慣的養(yǎng)成的培養(yǎng)。

第四、真誠待人，因材施教

我國著名教育家陶行如先生說過：“教育是心心相映的.活動，唯獨(dú)從心里發(fā)出來的，才能打到心的深處。”一直以來我都用一顆真誠的心對待學(xué)生，在課堂上我會直言不諱，一針見血的大叫某個有小動作的學(xué)生的名字，一開始的時候弄得女生面紅耳赤，男生顏面喪盡。但是他們都知道了我的性格，我就是一“心是口是”的直人，唯一讓他們心服口服的可能就是我能一如既往的一視同仁，在我的眼中無所謂成績好與差的學(xué)生，只要是坐在教室內(nèi)的學(xué)生我都會盡力去幫助他，鼓勵他。以前我總希望每個學(xué)生都能掌握我教的東西，但現(xiàn)在知道那只能讓成績差的學(xué)生學(xué)的痛苦，讓我教的更痛苦，所以我現(xiàn)在能用平和的心態(tài)因材施教。

With marks, we can be enrolled into senior middle schools. With marks we can be enrolled into college. With marks we can be enrolled into postgraduate and doctrine studies. Still with marks we can be graded and be allowed to go abroad for further studies. Our parents will be strict with us with the marks. Our society judge us from marks. However, sometimes we students compare one another with marks directly. We are completely controlled by marks. We like them and we feel sorry for them. But what attitude towards our marks should we take?

Truly, marks functions cannot be underestimated. In terms of test in our study, marks are fair and real. That is the reason why we say “Everyone is equal before marks. ”

However, I think marks are the sole standard to judge the success or failure of students in exams. Sometimes, marks more than ten or less than one or two in our exams comparing with others mean not everything. The success or failure in exams will be influenced by experience on the spot and the examinee's health etc. Once in a while one cannot fail in exams. “ Success or failure is common sense for military. ” I think everyone is familiar with the famous saying. Don't you think such will be the case with our study? In exams, one cannot be “ never-defeated general” . Even though one will be very good in everyday study, he cannot succeed in every exam sometimes. As a matter of fact, “high marks” and “ability” are not unified. Some time ago, a new phrase “ high marks but poor competence” came into being. Once I happened to meet such a teacher as this .It is said that the teacher just graduated from a far-famed key university. But his teaching result is much less than that of the one who just graduated from a not-well-renowned college. When lecturing, the teacher only repeated what the text-books says, which was very dull so the his students' interest in learning was not aroused. His teaching was short of unity of teaching and learning. At present there is a fact that we know a few brilliant and top college graduates are not qualified for their posts. The reason for it may be lack of the ability to combine knowledge learnt from books with pragmatics in their work. Students of this kind will be successful in every exam but they will be able to use freely their knowledge in their posts. Don't you think it waste training such persons for the country?

To sum up from the above, I can say marks are not absolutely authoritative for some. If we neglect training and developing the students' ability and competence and if we only seek for the high marks, we will be absolutely wrong. We should take an objective attitude towards the marks. My topic is Honesty.As a correspondent of the Qingdao Morning News, I visited Dr. James Gilman, the President of the International Committee for Marco Polo Studies in England. In this picture, this is James, and this is me and we are looking at a dragon’s tooth. This is a true story.

65 years ago, James lived in Qingdao. Then he was only 5 years old. He often visited the Aquarium and was fascinated by a creature on display there, which he thought was a dragon. He was afraid of its sharp teeth and wanted one to keep as a treasure.

In the late 1930s, when the Japanese occupied Qingdao, his family had to leave. On his last day in Qingdao, he ran to the Aquarium and pulled out one of the teeth from the dragon’s mouth.

He kept the tooth for the next 65 years, but the feeling of guilt at having stolen it was there in the background all through his life. It was always on his conscience, and the feeling intensified as he became older. Finally he decided to put right his childish error. In 20xx, he visited Qingdao and returned it to the Aquarium with his sincere apologies. He received a warm welcome.

When James visited Qingdao, I accompanied him all the time and reported on his visit. I was deeply touched by his honesty. It has taught me a lot. I think to err is human. The important thing is to have the courage to admit and correct one’s error.

Honesty is a vital quality of human behaviour. So we should try to keep an honest mind in everything we say and do. I would like to say to all of my friends: Let’s be honest people of good moral character.

目前的形勢決定了英語學(xué)科的重要性，請各位家長務(wù)必重視英語這一學(xué)科，你們思想上重視了，無形中也給孩子以熏陶，重視與不重視肯定是完全不同的，在英語課堂上，大部分學(xué)生都能很活躍的回答老師提出的問題，積極跟著老師拼讀單詞，朗讀課文。其實(shí)這也制造了一種假象，學(xué)生認(rèn)為自己常常被老師提問，認(rèn)為自己能夠回答老師的問題，于是認(rèn)為自己的英語學(xué)得很不錯，自我感覺特別好。于是下課后在英語上花的時間就少了。其實(shí)要學(xué)好英語，課上占40%，其余的60%還需要學(xué)生在課后不斷的鞏固，加深記憶。在課上老師更多的是教授新知識，當(dāng)然課上也會有少量的時間鞏固新學(xué)的知識。但是這些時間是公共的時間，而不是每個學(xué)生私有的時間，所以不可能照顧到每個學(xué)生，不可能讓所有學(xué)生都達(dá)到相同的程度。況且每個學(xué)生對新知識得接受能力都是不同的，有的可能當(dāng)堂就已經(jīng)有很深的印象，很難忘記，但這肯定是很少的。大部分學(xué)生都只能是初步接觸了新知識，要真正接受新知識還要學(xué)生在課后多下功夫，不然肯定會和別的同學(xué)拉下差距。

那么在課后學(xué)生到底該怎么做才能把其余的60%補(bǔ)回來呢？英語畢竟不是我們自己的語言，大多數(shù)學(xué)生除了英語課其余時間根本就不會想到要說英語，所以，在課后一定要主動抽時間為自己補(bǔ)習(xí)英語。學(xué)好英語，不外乎就是在聽，說，讀，寫這些方面下功夫。

首先說一下聽，每個學(xué)生都有和書相配套的磁帶，可是請各位家長檢查一下自己的子女的英語磁帶，有多少學(xué)生的磁帶還是和剛發(fā)的時候一樣的，根本就沒有聽過。不要說另外買什么英語聽力磁帶或者英語學(xué)習(xí)的碟片了，連自己手頭的磁帶都不去聽，光靠上課聽一點(diǎn)點(diǎn)的磁帶，學(xué)生的聽力根本就不能有什么發(fā)展。不會聽就不能說，而說白了，學(xué)了英語就是要說，那不是白學(xué)了么？聽錄音機(jī)跟讀，目的應(yīng)該是兩種，一種同學(xué)是上課沒有完全消化，聽錄音是補(bǔ)充學(xué)習(xí)的過程，另外一種是提高自己的聽力和口語表達(dá)能力，要學(xué)生盡力地去模仿錄音機(jī)里的發(fā)音，從而使自己的聽力和口語都提高一個層次。

接下來是說，英語是一門語言，學(xué)了就是要說，要和別人交流。我們學(xué)的英語不應(yīng)該是啞巴英語，要讓每個學(xué)生學(xué)會勇敢地說出來。在課上我會用各種方法來刺激學(xué)生，激發(fā)他們說英語的積極性，大多數(shù)學(xué)生也確實(shí)做得很好。可是班級里人多，對每個人來說，說的機(jī)會就少。所以下課也要說；放學(xué)回家也要說。在學(xué)校，我鼓勵學(xué)生把所學(xué)的英語對話運(yùn)用到生活中去，這樣有更真實(shí)的情景，更能讓學(xué)生有發(fā)揮的余地。在家里，希望家長也能鼓勵學(xué)生說英語，也許你會說你自己也聽不懂，請不要這樣想，其實(shí)學(xué)生需要是你的鼓勵，你聽了他們說的只要簡單表揚(yáng)一句，他們就會很滿足了。有時候你們也可以不懂裝懂，或者還可以讓學(xué)生反過來教你，他們會覺得很自豪，因?yàn)樽约核鶎W(xué)得派上了用場。
