高爾基苦讀成才

高爾基是俄國著名的文學家。他的成才之路非常艱辛，由于家里很窮，不到十歲便到一個繪圖師家里做學徒，當學徒十分辛苦。繪圖師家里有一個儲藏間，里面堆滿了書。這對好學的高爾基來說，無疑是發現了寶藏。他把書偷偷帶在身邊，不工作時就躲到角落里如饑似渴地讀書。晚上沒有燈，高爾基就打開窗戶，借著月光讀書。繪圖師家的圣像前常年點著蠟燭，高爾基每天等到夜深人靜的時候，就悄悄地來到閣樓，在微弱的燭光下讀書。

有一次，高爾基太累，抱著書睡在了閣樓上。繪圖師的妻子拿著掃帚，一邊狠狠地打他，一邊罵道：“小偷，看我不打死你!”繪圖師問明了原因，不但沒有生氣，反而拍著高爾基的頭說：“我看你是個用功的好孩子。你想看書就直接向我要吧!”從此，高爾基一心陶醉在書的海洋里。最后終于成為舉世聞名的大作家。

魯迅先生從小也很喜歡讀書，學校獎給他一枚金質獎章。他立即拿到南京鼓樓街頭賣掉，然后買了好幾本書，又買了一串紅辣椒。每當晚上寒冷時，夜讀難耐，他便摘下一顆辣椒，放在嘴里嚼著，直辣得額頭冒汗。他就用這種辦法驅寒堅持讀書。由于苦讀書，后來終于成為我國著名的文學家。這兩位大文豪的成功，都告訴我們：“成功哪里得？貴在苦讀書！”

閱讀聚材

1、偉人毛澤東的《講堂錄》

偉人毛澤東有一本《講堂錄》，是毛澤東學生時代留下的讀書筆記。共有47頁，一萬多字，字全部為毛澤東讀書時摘抄下來的精彩詞語句段，且用“蘭亭體”小楷字書寫而成。他非常仰慕愛國詩人屈原，前面11頁全文抄錄了《離騷》、《九歌》，一絲不茍。后面36頁主要是國文和修身的聽課筆記。涉及范圍很廣：先秦哲學、楚辭、漢賦、漢書、唐宋古文、宋明理學以及明末清初的思想家與文學家。這些議論多是做人和治學的隨感，卻含深刻哲理。

毛澤東很推崇徐特立老師“不動筆墨不讀書”的學習方法。所謂“動筆墨”，就是不只是讀前人的書，而且要經過認真思考和消化，把自己的心得和看法寫下

來，其中包括對書中同意或不同意的地方。毛澤東每讀一本書都會有條理的記錄文中的名言警句，并寫出自己的體會。有條理地記錄其中的典故，全文的要點和自己簡短的議論。據不完全統計，自新中國政府進駐北京到1966年9月，毛澤東先后從北京圖書館、首都圖書館、北大圖書館、北師大圖書館等借閱圖書達2000余種，5000余冊。

毛澤東由于積累豐富，后來寫出了許多優秀文章，他究竟寫了多少書，真是的書多得數不過來。這么豐厚的成果和他學生時代及一生認真讀書，刻苦摘抄積累資料分不開的。

同學們是怎樣讀書的？做到了像毛澤東青少年時代那樣認真讀書了嗎？一邊讀書，一邊批注、摘抄，寫筆記，發議論，大量閱讀，日積月累。這樣既提高閱讀能力，又積累豐富知識。養成了閱讀的好習慣，你的倉庫里存儲了各種材料，到寫文章時，還怕沒有東西可寫嗎？

小文的習作訓練

小文被學校評文“寫作之星”，被報社評為“優秀小記者”，他的成功與他爸爸的培養是分不開的。他的爸爸在家第一件事就是和兒子一起學習。幾乎每天傍晚，爸爸都帶小文在樹林里跑步，一邊跑一邊看一看各種不同樹木生長的情況，看著野薔薇漫出來了，會傷人的話，折一折。如果看到斜坡上面有小木棍的話，對于跑步的人是很危險的，他們把它移開。

跑到湖邊的時候，爸爸會跟孩子說：“你看一看這個水光，可以用哪些詞匯去形容，天光云影映在水里，又可以怎么樣形容。你看這些蓮花，蓮葉甜甜，用什么辦法去形容?！眱鹤痈职謱W習，豐富詞匯是第一步。爸爸教小文一套訓練的方法：你可以先想想人、地、事、物，可以隨便想一個，在大樹下，兩個人聊天。爸爸讓孩子講，用“聊天”做題目，你怎么樣寫？他從人的角度說：“是一位李先生和一位我不認識的小姐，坐在樹陰下聊天?！比撕偷赜辛耍拔易鲎鳂I的時候”，事和時也有了，他們在聊什么呢？你就可以這樣延伸下去，人、地、事、時、物是很重要的因素。這就是從記敘文的要素出發進行練習。

另外可以用視覺來寫。如《桃花源記》里，當他看到桃花林，看到小洞就舍船從口入，“復行數十步，豁然開朗”，是個大遠景；“土地平曠”，漸漸到了中景；“桑竹之屬，阡陌交通，雞犬相聞”；往來男女衣著，男女分得出來了，“黃發垂髫”，發式看到了，怡然自樂，還笑咪咪的，是大特寫。這不是像電視、電影鏡頭一樣嗎？如果我們寫作也用鏡頭的方式來寫，就很容易了。

小文告訴爸爸去學校出板報的事。“今天下午一點鐘，我騎車來到學校的門口，伙伴已經在那里等著，大概是怕我遲到吧”，地點講了，時間講了，人也講了，“跟著伙伴進了學校，老師已準備好出板報的資料在那兒等著了”，事件也有了。一個寫作的人，如果你覺得難記住用一條線寫。那就分條寫，如果寫你的家庭，先不要寫你的爸爸媽媽，先用單條線形容你的家。于是，可以從你的家門開始寫，你可以怎么說？

“遠遠的我總是看著那一盞門燈在迎接我，推開門的時候，這門已經十多年了??”所以人、地、事、時、物，再加上視線，加上聲音，加上色彩，文章就漂亮起來了。小文就是這樣在爸爸的啟發指導下，積累詞匯，不斷練習作文的。

同學們，從小文的成績、成功中，我們可以感悟到，寫作需要養成觀察、思考生活的良好習慣，并試著表述觀察到的東西，按照一定的方法進行訓練，使它變成素材在頭腦里存起來，那才有收獲。席勒指出：“感受能力的培養是時代最急迫的需要，這不僅是因為它是一種改善對人生洞察力的手段，而且因為它本身會喚起洞察力的改善?！?/p>

立志讀盡人間書

蘇軾出身于書香門第。在家庭影響和父母的熏陶下，蘇軾自幼聰敏好學。七歲知書，十歲能寫文章，常受到親友們的贊揚。

在贊揚聲中，少年蘇軾逐漸增長了自滿情緒。他想，家里的藏書從先秦諸子百家著作，到西漢詩賦、唐代散文，我全都讀過了，可以稱得上“才高八斗，學富五車”。有一天，他在書房門口貼上這樣一副對聯：“識遍天下字，讀盡人間書?！?/p>

說來也巧，幾天后，有位白發蒼蒼的者人，上門向蘇軾求教。老人拿出一本古書請蘇軾誦讀。蘇軾翻開一看，別說從未讀過，就是連書上的字竟有許多不認得。蘇軾頓覺羞愧難當。他開始重新認識自己，看來真是天外有天，人外有人。自己距離“識遍天下字，讀盡人間書”還差得很遠。老人走后，蘇軾暗下決心，要從頭學起，于是便在原來的對聯上面各加上兩個字，將對聯改為：“發憤識遍天下字，立志讀盡人間書?！?/p>

由于蘇軾具有“立志讀盡人間書”的宏大志向。學無止境是對一個人用心苦讀的最好鞭策，而像蘇軾這樣孜孜不倦的學習詩文的文學大家而言，讀盡人間書的志向僅僅是虛心好學的一個小小寫照而已，但是他內心真正的虛心向上的學習精神，卻是值得我們永遠學習的。

蘇軾讀書還注重實踐。他從南方人天天和水打交道，十幾歲就熟悉水性的實例，悟解出實踐出真知的道理。為此，他好多的文章，就是通過親身的經歷后有感而發的。他在二十一歲時候就考中了進士。主考官歐陽修讀完蘇軾的文章后，大為嘆服，他給梅堯臣寫信說：“不覺汗出，快哉，快哉!老夫當避路，放他出一頭地，可喜，可喜!”歐陽修為發現一個杰出的人才而欣喜若狂，同時又感到后生可畏，他想避開，讓蘇軾出名。宋仁宗讀了蘇軾的文章，高興地說：“我今天為子孫又得到一個宰相了?！?/p>

蘇軾是具有多方面成就的作家。他的散文和詩、詞都很有名，在散文方面，他是“唐宋八大家”之一；在詞的方面，他和辛棄疾齊名，被稱為“豪放派”的代表人物；在書法方面，他自成一派，為世人所推崇。有《經進東坡文集事略》、《蘇詩編注集成》、《蘇詞補注》、《東坡詞》和《東坡樂府》等傳世。

蘇軾多才多藝是北宋文壇領袖之一，他之所以能取得這樣的光輝成就，是和他少年時孜孜不倦、刻苦讀書分不開的。大凡文學上有成就的人，一生都是與書、讀書結下了不解之緣的。同學們，你們都喜歡讀書嗎？我想你們會的。

莫泊桑寫小說

法國作家莫泊桑，年輕時候就開始從事寫作，曾寫了許多詩歌、小說、散文、劇本。但投寄出去都是石沉大海，杳無音信。多次的失敗使莫泊桑對寫作喪失了信心。

那時，他正巧認識了舅舅的同窗好友——大文學家福樓拜。福樓拜也很欣賞這個年輕人，決心把自己創作的經驗傳授給莫泊桑。莫泊桑非常尊重嚴師的教誨，每星期都要把自己寫的習作送給福樓拜審閱。福樓拜一絲不茍地為他修改習作，對莫泊桑的不少作品表示贊賞，但還是勸他：不要急于發表。

福樓拜對莫泊桑的要求非常嚴格，首先要求他訓練敏銳透徹地觀察事物的能力。莫泊桑遵從老師教誨，對自己進行長期嚴格的訓練，逐漸養成了善于發現別人沒有發現過和沒有寫過的特點。后來，莫泊桑在談到作家應該細致、敏銳的觀察事物時說：“大家要想寫作，必須詳細地觀察你想要表達的一切東西，時間要長，而且要全神貫注，才能從其中發現至今還沒有人看到與說過的那些方面。比如，為了描寫燒得很旺的火或平地上的一棵樹，我們就需要站在這堆火或這棵樹的面前，一直到我們覺得它們不再跟別的火焰和別的樹木一樣為止?！?/p>

福樓拜還建議莫泊桑，做這樣的鍛煉：騎馬出去跑一圈，一兩個鐘頭之后回來，把自己所看到的一切記下來。莫泊桑按照這個辦法鍛煉自己的觀察力有一年之久。此外，福樓拜還讓莫泊桑，聽街上的馬車聲來訓練觀察力。莫泊桑遵照老師的教導，從“抓特點，認真觀察”入手，終于寫出了有新意，有獨特感受的作品。1880年，莫泊桑的作品《羊脂球》發表了，它使莫泊桑一鳴驚人。讀者稱莫泊桑是文壇上的一顆新星。從此，莫泊桑一躍登上了法國文壇。

我們學習寫作，不妨也像莫泊桑那樣，多留心觀察自己身旁的人或事，景與物。還要進行必要的訓練，達到寫出富有新意的，有獨特感受的文章來。那時，我們一定也會享受到成功的快樂。

歐陽修做文章

歐陽修是宋朝時候杰出的文學家。他從小死了父親，家里很窮，生活得很苦。母親不得不帶著他離開家鄉，去投靠遠方的叔叔。

叔叔家里也不富裕。歐陽修到了上學的年齡，連買紙筆的錢也花不起。他的母親就用蘆稈當筆，把沙土鋪在地上當紙，教歐陽修認字。歐陽修認字很用心，到了十歲的時候，已經有了自修的能力了。他常到有書的人家去借書讀。借來的書要按期歸還，他就把書背熟，再還給人家。他訂了一個背書計劃，每天背三百字。幾年以后，就把四書都背熟了。

他的叔父看他這樣用功，就把自己用剩下來的紙，裝訂成本子送給他。他高興極了，把這些本子一半用來抄書，一半用來學習做文章。那個時候，人們寫文章有一種壞風氣，只講究辭句的華麗，不講究內容。歐陽修覺得這種風氣很不好，他想學習寫另外一種文章。

有一次，他從一只破書箱里找到了幾本舊書，是唐朝文學家韓愈寫的。韓愈寫的文章不光文字優美，道理也說得很透徹。歐陽修越讀越覺得有味道，就把韓愈的文章當作自己學習寫文章的榜樣，進行學習模仿。

歐陽修寫文章非常認真，為了寫一篇文章，他常常要讀很多書。每一篇文章的初稿寫好，他就把它貼在墻上，有空就反復地念，反復地修改，直改到自己認為滿意了才行。

他寫的《醉翁亭記》，開頭一段說明滁州四周圍都是山。初稿用了幾十個字，寫了東面有什么山，西面有什么山，南面有什么山，北面有什么山?？傻鹊阶詈蠖ǜ宓臅r候，只用了五個字：“環滁皆山也”，就把意思表達出來了。

到了晚年，歐陽修也可以說是才華橫溢的文學家了，可他寫文章還是一字一句地仔細推敲，一點也不馬虎。他的妻子既相勸又打趣說：“你已經這么大年紀了，還怕老師罵嗎？”歐陽修笑著回答說：“我不是怕老師罵，是怕后來的人笑呀！”

腹有詩書氣自華，讀書是積累，多讀精品文章，在讀書中感悟、提高，這是培養語文能力的有效途徑。歐陽修這樣，我們也需要這樣。我們學寫作要多讀好書，熱愛生活，從生活和學習中鍛煉出敏銳的感悟能力，尤其注意從閱讀中去借鑒作家感悟生活的經驗，歐陽修就是以韓愈的文章作為自己寫作榜樣的，并進行科學的寫作訓練，認真、一絲不茍的練寫，修改，直到晚年還是一樣。只有這樣，我們也一定會享受到從閱讀感悟到作文成功的喜悅的讀書是要讀出它好處

熊十力(1884——1968)是20世紀中國重要的哲學家。

20世紀40年代，有一個國民黨的陸軍少將，叫徐復觀，聽到友人對熊十力的推崇和介紹，又在上司那里看到熊十力的著作《新唯識論》，大為佩服，就寫了一封信，表示自己有志于做學問，希望得到他的指教。

熊十力回信，講了一番治學做人的道理。有一次，徐復觀穿著陸軍少將的軍服，去拜見熊十力，請教應該讀什么書。熊十力叫他回去讀王船山的《讀通鑒論》。

徐復觀說早年已經讀過了。熊十力很不高興地說：“你并沒有讀懂，應當再讀?！边^了一些日子，徐復觀再去，告訴說：“《讀通鑒論》讀完了?！毙苁枺?“有點什么心得？”徐復觀覺得自己讀得很認真很仔細，不免有些得意，說，書里有很多他不同意的地方，接著就一條一條地說起來。

熊十力越聽越不是滋味，還沒等他說完，就怒聲斥罵起來：“你這個東西，怎么會讀得進書！像你這樣讀書，就是讀了百部千部，你會得到書的什么益處?讀書是要先看出它的好處，然后再批評它的壞處，這才像吃東西一樣，經過消化而攝取了營養。譬如《讀通鑒論》，這一段該是多么有意義；那一段理解得多么

深刻。這些你記得嗎？你懂得嗎？你這樣讀書，真是太沒有出息!”這一頓罵，罵得陸軍少將目瞪口呆。

原來，讀書是先要讀出書的好處!事后，徐復觀深情地說：“這對于我是起死回生的一罵?？峙聦τ谝磺新斆髯载?，并沒有走進學問之門的人，都是起死回生的一罵?！?/p>

經過這起死回生的一罵，徐復觀改變了讀書的方法，后來成為一個有名的學者，著書立說，為重新檢討和弘揚中國文化，做了出色的貢獻，特別在臺灣、香港等地產生了很大的影響。

故事里“讀書，是先要讀出書的好處”這句話，大家明白了嗎？要抱著欣賞的心情，體會美在什么地方。同時，拿到一篇文章，首先就要意識到，我的任務不單是瀏覽，而是要自覺地從幾個方面入手，去深入理解學習，要讀有所得。概括起來就是：

一、解決“寫了什么”的問題；

二、解決“怎么寫”的問題；

三、記憶文章中的精彩語段和詞語。這三個方面其實就是：讀書要達到動口動腦動手的問題。在一篇文章的學習過程中，能夠有意識地去解決好這三個問題，這才是真正的“讀”。也只有這樣，才可以提高自己的閱讀理解能力。

一個獨特的男孩子

我是個開朗的女孩子，什么事都一笑了之，同時，我的性格酷似男孩，喜歡跟男孩子打成一片，因此，別人叫我“假小子”“花木蘭”等。不僅如此，我的愛好也相似于男孩，比如打籃球、踢足球、玩電腦、看漫畫書等等。在我身上發生的許多事情都非常有趣。雖然有趣，但有時也使我很尷尬。（性格開朗，酷似男孩，有喜有憂。）

人小志氣高

缺點不少，貪玩、天天接嘴、偶爾發脾氣，臉皮厚、打“雷”不聽、下“雨”才怕。優點不多，聰明算一條。用家長的話總評：不是完人，而是“玩”人。

知道我為什么要叫雷雨嗎？因為，我在家里初一心情不好要“打打雷”，十五考試不好又要“打打雷”（也就是拍拍桌椅板凳……制造點表示生氣的音響）。但我怎么也不敢下雨，因為我的雨怎么也淋不滅爸媽的熊熊烈火。

我是一個男子漢，在鏡子前叉腰一站，野氣中帶點清秀：眉毛又濃又粗，活像抹上的兩撇墨汁，一雙老鼠耳讓我的聽覺靈敏了幾分，臉被太陽曬得紫紅發亮。我十分喜歡看書，也許因為看書的姿勢不夠正確，所以在眼睛前又掛了一雙“眼睛”。

漢語常被認為是一種非常古老的語言。人類所有的語言都可追溯到朦朧的史前時期。5000年前華夏祖先說漢語的方法同說英語人士說英語的方式大致相似。然而，漢語確實也是一種很古老的語言。今天所存留下來的最早的漢字已有近4000年的歷史。這些文字均為甲骨雕文。大部分銘文為神諭圣旨，內容大都與政治事件和宗教活動有關，有些則是關于天氣和戰爭的記錄。漢語有豐富的古代文字作品，源遠流長，遠非其他一種語言的文字可與之媲美。一些最古老的文字屬形象文字。

比薩餅

比薩餅也許是當今世界上最知名的食品了。它的演變與發展歷經了好幾個世紀。比薩餅的雛形就是一般的面包。作為窮人最常吃的食物之一，面包在歷史上占有重要的地位，因為過去他們只能以谷物和大自然饋贈的幾種農作物為生。他們發揮想像力盡可能將其制成可口的東西。大麥是做面包最常用的原料，最早的比薩狀面包也是用它制作的。人們將大麥碾成粉，和上水，在薄薄的平底鍋上攤平，然后用燒紅的石頭燒烤。后來，小麥粉替代了其他谷物，成為比薩餅的標準原料。經歷了幾個世紀，比薩餅逐漸發展成為我們現在熟知的樣子。

我們不必走出家門去看有什么變化。當今美國家庭的娛樂方式是克立弗家無從想像的。30年前，家家戶戶每天晚上圍坐著聽收音機。后來電視機取而代之。大多數家庭只有一臺電視機，全家人一起收看。如今，電視機和電腦將多得令人目眩的娛樂活動帶入家庭。有線電視播出的節目從有氧操到莎士比亞戲劇無所不有，錄像機更是擴大了選擇性。要是網絡電視或有線電視沒有中意的節目，錄像制品商店可提供好萊塢制作的品質迥異的各種節目：新近發行的電影、動畫片、成人電影、體育鍛煉節目、旅游、運動以及入門指南錄像帶。讓收看人參與其中的電腦游戲也是提供了相當的刺激。游戲者能在奧運會上施展身手，尋找外星人，或者在小小的屏幕上摧毀整個文明國家。

冰箱

冰箱被看成是必需品。從20世紀60年代就是這樣了，那時包裝好的食品上首次出現了“存放于冰箱”的標簽。

我的童年是沒有冰箱的，50年代，我吃得既好又健康。牛奶工人每天都來，雜貨商、肉商、面包師和賣冰激凌的人每周來兩到三次。星期天的肉可吃到星期三，剩下的面包和牛奶變成了各種各樣的蛋糕。什么也沒有浪費。我們也從不為腐爛的食品發愁。送食物上門已經停了30年，全國幾乎都找不到新鮮蔬菜了。冰箱的發明對食物的保存工藝幫助很小。早已經有許多屢經試驗的儲存技術了——自然冷卻、風干、熏制、鹽腌、糖漬、瓶裝。

地震

1994年洛杉磯發生了強烈地震之后，地震學家報告了一個可喜的消息：死傷人數本來會很高，而實際上卻相對較少。

在這場地震中死了60多人，相比之下，1988年美國那一次強度相當的地震中竟有25000人喪生。

在洛杉磯地震中，死傷人數之所以相對較小，是因為這場地震發生在一個假日的凌晨4點31分，當時城里的公路上車輛不多。此外，在過去的20年中，對洛杉磯的建設規定所作的修改，加固了該城市的建筑和公路，使它們的抗震能力提高了。

盡管有這些好消息，城建工程師并沒有安于成果，止步不前。他們的繪圖板上正釘著提高搞震能力的建筑物藍圖。新的設計要能給常常發生地震的城市提供更大的安全保障。

水資源

在全世界可利用的水中，人類使用的還略少于一半。可是，缺水和旱災多次發生，導致某些地區的饑荒和貧困，而工業、農業廢渣、廢水還在污染著水源。由于世界人口預期在未來50年內會翻一翻，許多專家認為，我們已處于廣為擴散的淡水危機邊緣?！?/p>

但是其結果未必就是如此。要是我們從現在開始，比過去更為珍惜水資源，則世界不一定會為缺水所困擾。正如在20世紀70年代石油危機之后我們更為珍惜石油一樣，我們現在也必須以新的經濟視角來看待水了。我們再也沒有足夠的水，能讓我們認為水本來就是一種免費的資源，我們想用多少就用多少，想怎樣用就怎樣用了。

大學

我知道我最終會令我父母開心。他們兩人都是大學畢業生，因此也希望我能成為他們中的一員。多年來他們一直向我灌輸大學文憑比高中畢業證具有更大的優勢。我至今仍能聽到媽媽這樣勸說我：“去上大學拿個學位吧。你現在需要一個學位。以后你會為此感到驕傲?！彼麄円恢边@么勸說，但并不強迫我。同時，如果我有意愿，他們也愿意讓我自己去想清楚。

我回到學校的另一個原因是為了我自己。我希望在我展望未來的時候，自己更自信、更樂觀。我曾親眼目睹我的父母在撫養6個孩子的同時為獲取文憑而努力奮斗，也見證了他們通過努力，大大改善了我們家的生活。我如今他們起步時更年輕，也無后顧之憂，因此，我應該好好利用現在的時光去創造更加美好的生活。

教書

我告訴一位朋友我不想謀求行政職務時，他向我提出這樣一個問題：你為什么要教書呢？美國人受的教育是長大成人后應該去追求金錢和權力，而我卻偏偏不朝這個方向“發展”，這使他大惑不解。

當然，我之所以教書并不是因為做教師輕松。為了謀生，我做過各種各校的工作：機修工、木工、作家，可教書是最難的行業。就我而言，教書是個令人熬紅眼睛、手掌出汗、精神沮喪的職業。說它是熬紅眼睛的職業，是因為我晚上無論備課到多晚，總覺得準備的不夠充分;說它是令人手掌出汗的職業，是因為我進教室前總是緊張不已，認為學生會發現我原來是個笨蛋；說它是令人精神沮喪的職業，是因為我走出教室一小時后，仍覺得這堂課上得比平常還要平淡無味。

退休

很多老年人并不享受65歲之后的生活。停止工作后他們覺得自己毫無貢獻，生活也失去了意義。此外，遠離家人和以前工作的同事也讓他們覺得孤單。年紀漸長，他們越來越擔心自己的健康，居住在大城市的老年人還很擔心自己的安全問題。不過，也有一些老年人很享受這種生活，以前因為要工作養家沒有時間做的事情現在可以做了，有足夠的時間去發展自己的愛好，還可以鍛煉身體和旅游。他們會和其他興趣相投，也同樣自由的老人來往。有些人過了退休年齡還繼續工作，很多人都在退休之后找到了新的事業發展機會。

電腦網絡

有了電腦網絡，我們可以通過電子郵件與世界各地的人自由交流?；ㄉ蠋酌腌娍梢允瞻l信息，比常規郵件所需的成本要少得多。通過互聯網還可以獲取大量信息，只要雙擊鼠標，就會打開一個嶄新的奇妙世界。但是，如果操作不當，電腦網絡也會帶來很多問題。有時候我們不得不花費大量時間清理堆塞在郵箱中的垃圾，一旦系統的日常運作因病毒襲擊而中斷，就有可能泄露或丟失有價值的信息。因此，網絡安全成了公眾日益關注的問題。

男女平等

婦女運動結束后，越來越多的女性走出家庭、步入職場，而男生在家庭內部則越來越活躍，開始照顧小孩和分擔家務。除了家庭內部的這些改變，一些過去普遍認為只有女性才會擔任的工作，現在也有男性擔任。男護士和男性幼兒教師數量漸增。男性在職場上的女同事和女老板比以前多，他們也不得不適應女性與男性迥然不同的溝通和管理方式。無論在工作中還是在家里，現代北美社會的男性與他們父輩所擔任的角色已大大不同。
