Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen;
When I first saw the topic set for this contest,I suddenly recalled a conversation with an Indian-American lady during the annual forum(討論會)of the young presidents' organization. She told me she was impressed by the student volunteers in two respects: first, all the students could speak very good English;second, many of them know a lot about western culture and society.but when it come to some issue of Chinese culture from time to time they stammered and stuttered(口吃)Why so?She was baffled. And I explained that for students in china, fluent language with an authentic accent has always been the main if not the only criterion for good English.Well, you see.She told me: “though I've been living in the states for many years, I've still got an Indian accent, but that is nothing to be ashamed of.What is more important is how to bring your own culture to the outer world by using this language.” up till this day, this very moment, her words have still kept echoing in my ears. And I suddenly realized that the process of globalization is somewhat similar to that of language learning. In the process of globalization, when every nation is busy learning the common rules, regulations and even the language, we also have to pay equal-if not greater attention to our culture, to our national identity.how to preserve and maintain our own cultural integrity(完整),this is the biggest challenge for us young people.when standing on the threshold of the new era, young people are provided with unprecedented(空前)opportunities.via the internet, now we are just a click away from the most up-to-date information;cooperation has transcended(超越)all the national boundaries and geographical distance; And now we can have our part to play in a broader stage, a global stage.Yet, when china accelerates its pace of opening up to the whole world, just as the case of language learning, many youngsters are also losing themselves in the ocean of western cultures. My dear fellow student, ask ourselves when we are getting more and more attracted to Hollywood blockbusters, how many of us have ever enjoyed Peking opera with the same enthusiasm? Ask ourselves if we can tell foreign guests about our own culture as much as they may tell us about theirs.Ask ourselves when we are busy following the fashion of those Korean HipHops, can we create our own style which they may also exclaim, “wow, that's cool!” and here is the crux(癥結)of the matter: globalization should not be a huge melting pot into which people of uniqueness only to come out all the same;It should not be a process in which countries gradually lose their identities. To my understanding, it should be a grand orchestra: an orchestra in which every player has his particular position and function;an orchestra where the uniqueness of every member is so cherished that anyone's role is irreplaceable by anyone else;an orchestra based on the joint contribution of every participant, which can and will produce the most beautiful symphony of tomorrow's peace and prosperity.my dear fellow students, our older generation have created a very splendid culture, and now it's our duty to carry the work on, to strive for a more beautiful future.I hope next time, when the lady again comes to china, she will not only marvel at we Chinese young people using fluent English introducing our magnificent culture, but also see that we are not only eager to learn but also eager to tell.We are telling the whole world, “Yes, we have made a difference!” thank you very much!actually, this is a very interesting topic and I'm very glad that here I can share my opinion of this topic with you.Frankly speaking, I enjoyed going to zoo very much because I think it has provided us with a very good opportunity to get entertainment.and also it can provided us with a good chance to be nearer to the nature.but, my opinion has changed since my last visit to a zoo actually in that zoo, the elephants have caught the whole spotlight, because they were so cute and they can do various tricks and performance.

現以第十一屆全國英語演講比賽冠軍曹豐的即興演講話題為例,他的題目是:now in the age of the internet, reading books does not seem as important as it once was.do you think people call learn as much on the internet as they can by reading books? which method do you prefer? 他是這樣開頭的:“actually, i don’t agree with the first sentence of this topic:‘in the age of the internet, reading books is not as important as it was once was”’.接下來分析原因,最后做出總結:“so in this age of internet,in this age of modernization,in this age of civilization, why do you have to force someone to choose between internet and books? i prefer using both of them.” 1.2開頭
例如第十二屆全國英語演講比賽冠軍的即興演講是這樣開頭的:“when i am dead,my dearest, sing no sad songs for me.plant thou no roses at my head,no shady cypress tree.be the green grass above me with showers and dewdrops wet.and,if thou wilt, remember.and,if thou wilt,forget.’’
第十二屆全國英語演講比賽第四名黎志敏演講時這樣結尾“in conclusion.1 want to say that we only have one earth and we should spare no effort to make our earth a better place and to steer our earth for the better.” 1.3.2發出號召,促人行動
第十二屆全國英語演講比賽第九名鄧凱琪在演講“the main benefits and problems of globalization”時這樣結尾“ladies and gentlemen, don’t let globalization affect how you see our culture.but then use this opportunity, use this chance to treasure our culture even more, because it is facing the challenges of globalization.”
第十三屆全國英語演講比賽第六名孫怡在演講“share with us your understanding of‘either you’re somebody or you ain’t nobody”’時這樣結尾“1 want to end my speech with one of michael jordan’s famous words.it’s not how hard you push yourself for your way;its something in you.you think you have to finish it.”
第九屆全國英語演講比賽冠軍洪嘩在演講“should there be limits on how we display our love in public? what do you think is the best way to express your feelings in public?”時這樣結尾:“and the best scene in my mind to show our love in public,is that we lay on the grass land in my campus, and i read a part of jane eyre to him,and he read a part of oliver twist to me.don’t you think it is a romantic scene for the young lovers to show their love to each other?” 1_3.5臨場應變
第七屆全國英語演講比賽“最具潛力選手獎”獲得者張勇被問及“should college students be allowed to get married?”時,這樣答道:“thank you for your question and i think it’s really a good question to show how fast the society is developing.i still remember that last year the contestant number twenty-four,also today’s host, were asked about a question that what qualities you look for in a boyfriend.and only a year later here i’ll be asked:should college students be allowed to get married? i think the society is really developing.”
例如形容一個人生氣、憤怒,避免重復使用angry,可以用be pissed off,be burned up等詞來替換。又如在表達“喜歡”的時候,可以用be keen on,be into,be mad about,be passionate about,be fond of, be partial to等來替換like和love. 時”,可以采用“there is a growing awareness that.”這比起我們常用的“more and more people realize that.”
host: last february, chun shu, a chinese writer in her early twenties, appeared on the cover of time magazine.she was referred to by the u.s.editor as...one of a group of post-eighties writers in china.which also includes guo jingming, zhang yueran and han ham all these writers recount their personal feelings and express their individuality in their works, and they havea large group of readers and supporters.however, there is some concern that the cynical attitude towards life that they express might have a negative effect on young readers.do you also fear it will have such negative effects? thanks.thank you for your question.good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen.my topic of todays speech is make our voice heard.today i would like to argue in two park.first, i would like to argue why people are afraid that literatures will set a negative effect on our lives.and second part i will share some of my thoughts with you. 演講人首先明確的告知聽眾演講的主題,使用brief introduction sentence to get attention。
why those people are afraid of these kind of literature? im afraid that they are afraid of that teenagers are liked to imitate others.and teenager is just a crucial point for us to shape our personality, our view of life, and our value of the world.theyre afraid of that we follow the bad example and lead a bad life in the future.and thats why my parents, my family, and even the government would like to propose where thought those kind of literature as cynical ones.
but i would like to share some of my thoughts with you.before i read the book of mr.guo jingmings novel, i read another fiction called the catcher the rye.in that book, i also read sex, violence, murder, and rebellion.but that book was regarded as one of the masterpiece in american history and awarded the pulitzer prize.i could not see any difference between mr.guo jingmings novel and the cateber in the rye, because they expressed the attitude as our teenagers and adolescents we feel about the world.
