但凡是老板，在看待員工時，都希望員工忠誠，可說到忠誠的對象就模糊了。當公司小時，可以說老板說的忠誠，是忠誠于老板，別人來挖，打死不走，而且要“讀老板的書，聽老板的話，做老板的好員工”。并嚴格執行老板的指令，為老板負責。但大公司，說到忠誠，那說是的忠誠于誰呢？為誰負責呢？是忠誠于公司，忠誠于上司，還是忠誠于自己？恐怕很多老板和管理者，自己都沒有想清楚這個問題，再來引導員工，就很難達到目的了。首先我們作為職業人，要忠誠于自己。一個員工如果連自己都不忠誠的話，怎么可能忠誠于公司？而忠誠于自己，就是要忠誠于自己的價值觀，自己為人處世的準則。一個沒有原則的人，一個變色龍，就是對自己的前途和未來不負責任。

其次要忠誠于公司的“憲法”，并執行在“憲法”之下的各項制度。為什么不說忠誠于公司呢？公司只是個抽象的概念，它不是一個活生生的人，公司的代表人物可以說是老板，但老板和員工隔著很多層，想忠誠也夠不著。于是老板在公司制訂規章制度，建立企業文化，進行教育和訓練，提出一些象“憲法”一樣的東西。員工忠誠于這些“憲法”，按照這些原則和方法辦事，就是忠誠于公司，忠誠于老板。這也是為什么很多老板，強調企業文化和制度的根本原因。

最后來說說忠誠于上司。上司是上司的上司任命的，最終也是老板任命的，所以忠誠于上司，也就是忠誠于老板，因為上司是老板的代理人。當然上司做的事情，在老板給的權限范圍內，你忠誠于上司時，才是忠誠于公司。在很多公司，跟對人比做對事更重要。所以有人選擇永遠都忠誠于某個上司，無論他是正確與錯誤，也是可以理解的。但站在企業管理的角度，這不是好現象，如果那個上司辭職，會帶走一大批“他的人”，給公司造成很大的損失。所以作為老板，要不斷強調公司的企業文化，制度，公司的“憲法”，就可以對盲目地忠于上司，進行制約。
