If time could be turned back
If time could be turned back, I would not waste so much time doing something just to pretend to be a good student.Back to myprimary school, we were always asked to copy the texts for so many times, it is so meaningless and boring, but every time I would complete it carefully even when I had the confidence to know every word in the texts and could recite it fluently.“What if the teacher thought me a bad student if I could not accomplish my homework?”
That` s what I thought then. What a foolish I am!If time could be turned back, I would just play games with my friends.Being “the children` s king “is surely better than a stupid student and I would be healthier now.Or I would just read some books I like instead of copying. It is shameful that I am far from learned now.And I would just tell the teacher my copying homework is undone becauseI could recite the whole texts. Then I entered my middle school and high school. There were so many subjects and I was so eager to be the NO·1,thus most of my time was spent on studying. And when I did have time to relax myself, I was so worried that I would fall behind because everyone else was still studying. So Iquitted my spare time and pushed a lot of my interests aside.Iwanted to play violin, but I still cannot now;I wanted to travel around the world, but the most distant way I travelled by far is the way from my hometown to my college. If time could be turned back, Iwould not be so anxious about what others were doing.I would concentrate on my study when it was the time for studying and truly enjoy my spare time doing something I like without thinking about studying. When you have a strong desire to do something and you push it aside, then you may never do it again, leaving endless regrets. Now I am a sophomore, I have learned a lot since entering the college and become mature. However while thinkingabout my freshman year, I felt that I lost something.I found myself walking on the wrong way to care too much about the gradeand was hampered much by that.I was busy doing a lot of homework, writing a lot of essays, reading some novels that I totally had no interests, and they took most of my time. And sometimes I had to attend some classes that I did not like. The eager curiosities for new knowledge become less and a feel of burden on shoulders took place.I should have lots of time to think more about my future, my life, my emotion, but till now they are still vague in my heart. And I surprisingly found,to some extent, that the teaching methods in college are so much alike what we had gone through in the primary school.I found myself so passive! If time could be turned back, I would take grades lighter;I am not here to just pursue a god grade but to learn something deep-rooted in my life, to receive new thoughts, to think more.If I were hampered now, maybe I could never fly freely in the sky.I would read more, think more and say“no” to something more. What is past is past, we must face the truth that time can never be turned back. The best way to say less “If time could be turned back” is to cherish the moment, to think more and judge more.
Interview with God
INTERVIEW WITH GOD
I dreamed I had a interview with God
“So you would like to interview me?” God asked.“If you have time,” I said.God smiled. My time is eternity…...what questions do you have in mind for me?”
“What surprise you most about humankinnd?”
God answered: “That they get bored with childhood, they rush to grow up, and then long to be children again.“That they lost their health to make money, and then lost their money to restor their health.”
“That by thinking anxiously about future, they forget the present, such that they live in live in neither the present nor the future.”
God’s hand took mine and we were slient for a while. And then I asked, “As a present, what are some of life’s lessons you want your children to learn?”
“To learn that they can not make anyone love them. All they can do is let themselves be loved.”
“To learn that it is no good to compare themselves to others.”
“To learn to forgive by practising forgiveness.”
“To learn that it only takes a few seconds to open profound wounds in those they love, and it can take many years to heal them.”
“To learn that a rich person is not the one who has the most, but is one needs the least.”
“To learn that two people can look at the same thing and see it differently.”
“To learn that it is not enough that they forgive one another, but they must also forgive themselves.”
“Thank you for your time,” I said humbly.“Is there anything else you’d like your children to know?”
God smiled and said: “Just know that I am here, Always.”
Time is life
A friend in need is a friend indeed
My definition of success Today I am very glad to be here to share with you my ideas of success. What is success? It is what everyone is longing for.Sometimes success would be rather simple.Winning a game is success;getting a high grade in the exam is success;making a new friend is success;even now I am standing here giving my speech is somehow also success. The bear told me not to trust such selfish friend like you very much. And also said that a friend in need is really a friend indeed. Two friends are walking in the forest. One is thin and tall, and very bad too.The other is fat and short, and very honest. The tall man says to the short man,“we are good friends. If any beast comes at all , I’ll help you.”The short man says,“Of course, we are good friends. We will help each other.”At that time, a bear comes to them.It almost comes close very near. The tall man climbs up the tree quickly to conceal himself in the branches and forgot his promise to the short man.But the fat man can’t climb the tree.He says to his friends,“Help me!Help me!I can’t climb up.Look! The bear is coming!”The tall man says:“No!No!No!You can’t stay with me.The tree is not strong.” The bear is coming. The short man lies down below the tree, posing as dead and holds his breath. The bear smells around his body.It doesn’t touch the death. After the bear went away without harming the short man, the tall man comes down and asks the fat man,“What did the bear whisper into your
ears when it closed to you?”The short man answers:“The bear told me not to trust such selfish friend like you very much. And also said that a friend in need is really a friend indeed.”
When I was in Senior One, I had great difficulty in learning science subjects.I was unable to understand the teacher and 1 could not do the exercises or the homework.I believed that I was stupid and could not learn anything. The sky was gray and the grass was yellow those days.Everything was a mess in my brain. My classmate, a good student, whom I only considered as one of the classmates before, came to me with a smile. She told me that if I needed help, she would like to help me.As she was also very busy with her studies, I asked myself, “Could she help me?”Several days later, I knew the answer.Yes, she could. She did as much as she could. She made time every day to help me solve the problems and showed me many good ways to study science. Her patience and earnest nature touched me deeply.I worked very hard and my progress was reflected in my examination result.I appreciated her help very much and wanted to thank her. When I looked at her, once again she smiled at me with an encouraging and congratulatory look.At that moment I understood that a true friend should be like this.Though everything has changed, and friendship has scores of definitions, I still believe, and I will believe forever that ”A Friend in Need is a Friend Indeed".
