本次四級考試作文總體上來說并不是很難。但表現出兩個出人意料：一是體裁，二是題材。

對于體裁來說，本次四級作文屬于正反對比論證類的文體。比較出人意料，又回到了老的考查模式。很多學生把考前死背的作文模板派上了用場。但是這只能得到最基本的分數。雖然模板對于考查學生的語言表達并不益處，但還能測試出考生的語言基本功。從四級考試寫作的測試目的來看，還是注重考查學生對基本語法、基本詞匯運用能力的掌握情況。所以除了模板之外，考生還要在基本表達上狠下功夫，只有在平時多操練，在考場上才游刃有余。除此之外，學生還要在作文中多采用閃光點，這樣就會使作文在基本分數上有所提升，有所突破。

對于題材，本次四級作文的話題是關于人們對于春節晚會的不同看法，屬于社會生活類話題，一反常態，沒有再次考查校園類話題。但是對于當代大學生來說，與大學生有關的社會話題也是需要關注的，這也說明考試方向的變化：校園類話題與社會熱點話題同等重要,這一點對于未來考四級的學生的作文備考的方向有的指導意義。
