一、英文求學申請信的格式和正文內容 英文求學申請信與普通信函的格式一樣，包括信頭（寫信人的地址和寫信日期）、收信人的姓名和地址、稱呼、正文、結束語和簽名。

3、請學校寄入學申請表和有關資料；

4、請學校介紹入學條件和要求；

5、若申請經濟資助，可要求學校寄經濟資助申請表；

6、信中要寫上申請人的通信地址和電話，以便對方回復。

二、英文求學申請信正文部分的行文技巧

1、簡短的開場白明確陳述寫信的目的，即申請什么專業和學位，從何得知申請信息等；入學申請應明確說明申請何類性質或何種學位的課程，準備何時入學等；

2、主體段用來概述自己的情況，包括年齡、專業、學歷、資歷、特長、興趣等，只在給對方留下深刻的印象。即使附有履歷也應在主題段總結說明自己的基本情況，強調自己具備充分的申請資格。

3、結束段主要用來敦請對方關照，說明附件。根據需要，還可以在主題段與結束段之間增補段落，說明其他具體情況，如外語水平、獲獎情況、經濟能力等。

三、中國學生在寫英文求學申請信時應注意的問題

1、行文技巧

中國學生的寫作重點往往不是提供個人資料，說明自己的基本情況，而是一味強調自己申請的原因和自己的需求。例如：

We lack the technology, we need it.China is carrying out reform……So we need his technology.這樣寫是不符合求學申請信的要求的。寫作時申請人應把自己的實力、專長、特點等闡明清楚，以此來說服讀者，讓對方感到你值得他們為你提供這次求學機會，要知道對方是不會因為你需要就為你提供求學機會的。

2、語言表達

在介紹個人情況時，為了引起讀者的重視，中國學生頻繁地使用形容詞最高級來評價自己。例如：

I am your best candidate and I had been granted an excellent pass.這種表達方式也是不可取的，對自己的評價應本著實事求是的原則，充分說明自己的客觀情況，不要夸大其詞，過分標榜，要能使人閱后感到真實可信，否則只能適得其反。

另外，中國學生偏好以情感人，喜歡用一些私人化的非正式的表達方式。例如： I would be very happy and hope we will be able to keep in touch in the future.這種表達和申請信的正式問題是不相符的。寫作時語言表達應該正式，譴詞造句要平實具體。

3、說服勸誘策略

求學申請信的目的在于是收信人了解申請人的要求和與此相關的情況，以便對方做出有利于申請人的決定，為了達到這一目的，一般采用自我推銷或自我評價策略（self-appraisal），而中國學生常常采用自我美化（self-glorification）、吹捧對方和自我貶低策略（self-degradation）

自我美化策略：申請人極力美化自己。例如：

I am a graduate in mining engineering having a shining academic record in my credit.I have been given admission in the graduate school, university of…,USA… 這種自我評價主觀性強，缺乏可信度。

吹捧對方策略：申請人極力吹捧對方學校或者其所屬國。例如：

I have secured first division marks(Grade B)in the said exam and on the above basis I intend to complete my further studies in the field of Medicine in My loving great country, USA.申請人的語氣過分熱情，對對方百般恭維，這樣反而給人留下不好的印象。自我貶低：申請人常常希望通過對其經濟困難的描述來博得對方的同情。例如： I belong to a third world country…Due to this feeling of immense kindness and generosity of Americans both literally as well as practically, I a needy student is able to pen down this request for financial assistance in education.… the education abroad is very expensive and we cannot afford it… So, I request your honor to please support a poor student financially, so that he can become a bright mind for humanity…

申請人企圖以情感人，不是對對方百般恭維就是對自己妄自菲薄，這都不會給對方留下好印象。所以在寫申請信時，申請人在態度上應坦誠真摯，不卑不亢，這樣才會起到積極的效果。

咨詢信指的是用于了解信息、資料和情況等等的信件。寫咨詢信要注意以下幾個問題：

首先，從措辭上來講，一定要有禮貌，要比較客氣地說清楚你想了解什么或者有什么要求。
