Teaching plan Good morning.It’s my great honor to have the chance to share my personal understanding about how to teach reading.According to the New Curriculum Standards, reading is an important skill where students can receive English language points on the largest scale and improve their ability to solve problems in daily life.So in the reading process, I will focus on students’ long-term development and enable them to use proper reading skills and strategies.In other words, students are guided to read efficiently and independently.Next I will briefly introduce my lesson from four parts, they are analysis of the teaching material, teaching and learning methods, teaching procedures and blackboard design.The first part is my analysis of the teaching material.The selected material is “the honorable game” taken from the reading section of Module4, unit 2 of Advance with English.The article is a speech about the history of Olympics and how games get into the Olympics.After reading this article, students cannot only improve their language competence, acquire more cultural knowledge, become more confident, but also can advance their individual personalities, which are the core of the New Curriculum Standards.Based on the analysis of the teaching material, I established the following teaching aims.By the end of the class, the students are required to grasp the key words, such as…;catch the main idea of the article and know more about the history of Olympics;enhance two reading strategies which are skimming and scanning and be familiar with how to read a speech;the last aim is to realize the Olympic spirits.The establishment of this teaching aims includes cognitive, skilled and emotional aspects, can develop not only students’ language competence but their overall abilities which is totally adhere to the acquirements of New Curriculum Standards.According to the teaching aims, I decided the key points and difficulties;they are: helping them to enhance reading abilities through classroom activities, lead them to gain some insights in Olympics and Olympic spirits, and grasp some key words.Then I want to introduce my teaching methods, learning methods and teaching aids.In order to achieve the above teaching aims, I chose the following teaching methods: task-based approach to help them learn from doing to get and deal with information, analyze and solve problems;situational approach to enable students to be active and creative;communicative approach to develop their communicative skills and team spirits.As we all know that the main instructional aim of the middle school is to cultivate students’ abilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing and their good sense of their English language.I strongly believe that with the help of these teaching methods, students will learn how to construct their own knowledge, and apply automatic and exploratory learning to their daily life.Besides, I chose the combining use of multimedia PPT and blackboard as my teaching aids to attract the students and consolidate the new knowledge.Next is my teaching procedures and I divided this lesson into 4 steps.The first step is pre-reading always known as warm-up.First, I will begin my class with a piece of music YOU AND ME, represented by Liuhuan and Celine Dion.Then I will ask the following questions: Do you know the name of the song? What do you know about Olympics?” Then I will introduce the topic of this lesson.Purpose of this step: according to information-processing theory, at this motivation stage, the teacher should active students’ learning motivation and their prior knowledge, arouse their interests and curiosity and let them be familiar with the topic.The second step is while-reading and at this step I prepared 3tasks.The first task is skimming to find the general idea of the article and answer the questions on page///.The purpose of this task is to enhance students’ ability of finding the gist in order to get the macro understanding of the article.The second task is scanning to find the specific information and finish the exercisesC1 and C2 on page///.The third task is further reading.After reading the article intensively, students are required to finish the exercise of guessing the meaning of new words on page/// D and finish the cloze of exercise E.This task is employed to help students to improve their learning strategy---guessing the meaning and get a deeper understanding of the article.During the above steps, I chose individual work and pair work to check their understanding of the article.The third step is post-reading.At this stage, I will introduce some key words related to the topic which can enlarge their vocabulary about Olympic and are also helpful for the following discussion.For example, //////////////////////////.Then I prepared a situation for students to discuss that is “as we all know, Beijing Olympic games is a total big and successful event for all of the Chinese and the whole world.What did you do during the 2008 Olympic games? ?為了充分調(diào)動學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)英語的積極性,發(fā)揮學(xué)生參與活動的熱情,本課教學(xué)中,我會運用國旗圖片、單詞卡片、地點圖片等直觀形象地呈現(xiàn)新語言項目,并設(shè)計有助于培養(yǎng)學(xué)生思維的游戲、自編數(shù)來寶等活動創(chuàng)設(shè)大量讓學(xué)生練習(xí)語言和鍛煉實踐能力的機會,使學(xué)生在游戲中牢牢地掌握難點單詞的讀音。

?通過讓學(xué)生觀察、比較、模仿、猜測等,使學(xué)生懂得仔細傾聽和認真思考在英語學(xué)習(xí)中的必要性,并且通過師生、生生之間的大量語言交流,讓學(xué)生感悟到英語學(xué)習(xí)必須親歷參與、大膽表達,并逐漸體會到學(xué)習(xí)英語的快樂成功感。

?根據(jù)三年級學(xué)生的已有英語認知水平,在本課的教學(xué)中,我將運用一些傳統(tǒng)的直觀手段如圖片、卡片、頭飾等豐富教學(xué)內(nèi)容,并合理地使用多媒體課件使部分內(nèi)容更加生動形象。另外,運用動腦筋猜一猜、趣味練一練等活動活躍課堂氣氛,提高學(xué)生參與的積極性。

[設(shè)計思路]

?這是新學(xué)期的第一堂課,教師有必要創(chuàng)設(shè)良好的氣憤讓學(xué)生充分感受英語的魅力,同時復(fù)習(xí)一些與本課內(nèi)容相關(guān)的知識。Showing游戲讓學(xué)生對英語指令和一些單詞重新有了記憶,同時復(fù)習(xí)一些單詞重新有了記憶,而猜猜游戲則強調(diào)了句型I have a new… 的運用,為新課中的句型We have a new friend.打基礎(chǔ)。櫻桃小丸子則起著承上啟下的作用,便于引入下一環(huán)節(jié)中表達自己是哪里人這一新句型。

?出示日本國旗,向?qū)W生們介紹:“小丸子is from Japan.” 重復(fù)一遍后,教師指點自己搖頭說:“I’m not from Japan.” 又指點中國國旗肯定地說:“ I'm from China.” 為使學(xué)生進一步理解這一新句型,教師體溫幾個一般疑問句如Are you from Japan? Is she from China?等,讓學(xué)生回答Yes/No來逐個體會。

?(3)教師自我介紹

?I’m xxx..I’m from China.Where are you from?引導(dǎo)學(xué)生嘗試用I’m from…作自我介紹.?(4)學(xué)說句型I'm from China.?分步跟讀:China---from China---I’m from China.?教師以夸張的口型讓學(xué)生看清楚I’m 中的兩次/ m /音,并通過“誰是最佳模仿手”的游戲讓學(xué)生積極地練習(xí)新句子的發(fā)音。

The reading and vocabulary contains 5 parts—one text and 4 exercises.The topic of this lesson is “The Magic of the Mask”, which concerns about the origins of carnival.Through this lesson, we will enable the students to know carnival and develop their interest in the festival cultures home and abroad.Besides, the students can improve their reading skills and strategies, and also learn the new words in the context.原因: Reading is one of the skills that the students must have.It belongs to the input during the process of language learning, which has great effect on output, such as speaking and writing.In addition, this kind of reading passage takes a big portion, so how to improve the students’ reading skills and how to raise their awareness of culture background is of great importance.Part 2 Teaching aims教學(xué)目標

According to the new standard curriculum and syllabus, the teaching aims of this lesson can be set as follow:

1、Knowledge aims:

(1)The students can understand the content of the passage, know foreign cultures, and try to describe a Chinese festival in their own words.(2)The students can master the usage of the important words and expressions.2、Ability aims:

There is only one.(1)The students in Senior Two are not familiar with the reading skills such as skimming and scanning, so we need to guide them to practice the skills through the reading tasks, for instance, reading the text in limited time.Part 3 Teaching Methods

In the Senior High school, to teach English is to increase students’ abilities, such as reading, writing and speaking.Therefore, I will adopt the following teaching methods:

(3)Task-based Language Teaching(任務(wù)教學(xué)法)

整體語言教學(xué)法:①強調(diào)整體。在語言教學(xué)中,聽、說、讀、寫是不可分割的整體。

②語言要和文化、社區(qū)相結(jié)合,教師要和學(xué)生相結(jié)合。學(xué)習(xí)語言的目的是為了滿足學(xué)生在現(xiàn)實生活中的真實需要,能夠進行有意義的人際交流,解決生活中的實際問題,而不是為了學(xué)習(xí)語言而學(xué)習(xí)語言。

③單元以主題為中心O 在一個單元中,所有的學(xué)科都圍繞著同一主題來進行。主題應(yīng)激發(fā)學(xué)生的興趣,能夠?qū)⒏鏖T科目結(jié)合在一起,組成一個完整的教學(xué)單元。

During reading, students have the ability to catch the main ideas of the text, but when doing exercises, they cannot find the correct answer.Therefore, teachers have the duty to lead students to read with purpose and do the detail reading.(2)Collaborative learning協(xié)作學(xué)習(xí)

Activity 1 Video-watching

This part I will use the computer and projector to play a small video which is about the carnival, and set some questions

Q: What do they wear on their faces?

Activity 2 Free talk

First divide students into several groups, and lead them to discuss freely with the questions before, and then invite someone to answer the questions.Purpose:

1、to catch students’ attention about the topic2、to encourage them to say something about their ideas.Then enter the text.Step 2 Pre-reading(3)

Activity 1 Play the CD once, ask students to just listen and finish the Exercise 1 individually.Let them to check the answer with a partner.Activity 2 Teachers call back the answers from the whole class.Purpose: train students’ listening ability and try to grasp the main idea of the text.Step 3 Fast Reading(10)

Activity 1 Ask students to read the passage in limited time.While doing the fast reading, finish Exercise 2 and find out the main idea or the topic sentence of each paragraph.Activity 2 Teachers ask students about the main idea or topic sentence of each paragraph.And conclude each paragraph.Paragraph 1: People’s general impression of carnival.Paragraph 2: The meaning of Carnival and how it was celebrated in history.Activity 3 Call back the answer of Exercise 2.Purpose:

This part I will lead students to retell the text in their own words and made a short summary, for the purpose of checking if my students really understand the whole text and if they master the knowledge of this text.What’s more, through this way I want to practice their oral English and encourage them to bravely express their thoughts.Step 6 Homework(1)
