如何寫好出國留學申請推薦信

申請北美的碩士研究生或博士研究生項目一般需要2~3份推薦信。

那么誰是最好的推薦人呢?錄取評審委員會通常最看重那些與被推薦者有著或曾有過密切的工作關系的人或其他熟悉你的科研能力、學術水平、組織能力和領導才能的人士。如在大學比較了解你的教授，在工作單位里的頂頭上司或是你參與的其他社會組織，以及各種學術和慈善團體的負責人，這些人是理所當然的最佳推薦人人選。

你也應當盡量避免請同一類型的人士給你寫推薦信。你需要錄取評審委員會對你有一個完整而全面的了解，不能只局限于在校的學習成績或是工作上的表現。

除了推薦者的選擇，推薦信的內容也有格外需要注意的地方。一封好的推薦信不僅需要出自一位在某一方面了解你的人士之手，而且這封信對你的評價必須要有具體的例子來佐證。許許多多的推薦信都犯著一個雷同而且是致使的錯誤，那就是幾乎每一句話都堆滿了贊美的形容詞或名詞，但卻不舉一件事例來證明。這樣的推薦信是蒼白無力的，它不增加評審委員會對你的任何了解，甚至會讓讀者產生疑問：你的教授，你的頂頭上司，為什么不能說出你任何一件具體的成就!

當然，即使是十分了解你的推薦者也不能保證完全了解或是記得你的具體成就和能力，他們也可能不清楚在推薦信上詳細介紹你的重要性。你所應該做的是與推薦者交談一次，提醒他們你所具有的能力和已獲得的成就并表明你希望他們能夠提到這些事實。

推薦者如果恰當地而又正面談到申請人的不足，就會增加推薦信的真實性，而且也顯示出對被推薦者深刻的了解。這樣的推薦信就會更加有分量。

此外，許多申請者在細節上相當馬虎，他們去替推薦者打印給自己的幾封推薦信時，不僅行文的口氣、格式完全沒有變化，連使用的紙張、信封、字型、字號也一模一樣。國外的評審委員往往不了解中國的特殊國情，他們可能據此判斷你在偽造推薦信。

總之，推薦信是除自述外最重要的出國留學申請文件，起著從側面介紹、證明的重大作用。

由于其具備自述所沒有的客觀性，推薦信能起到自述所起不到的作用。
