Learn to Treasure
Although Father and I were very close, we had a normal father-and-son relationship.I believe that in each family, the relationship between father and son is like a tiny stream, without any wonder while full of feelings and emotion.Father used to tell me what makes a man.Sometimes we would discuss this to the early hours of the next morning sipping on our cups of tea.During the evenings, he taught me to be honest and kind-hearted.He told me: Learning to be a man is the most valuable thing in one’s life.His words turned out to be the brightest stars in my sky and lit up my path when I did not know which way to turn to.Father was an expert in history and mastered a clear insight into everything.He managed to make mundane historic events into interesting stories and told them to me with great patience.We even argued about these events at times.His stories turned out to be a warm spring breeze and they melted the ice in my thoughts.Later, Father got seriously ill.He never expressed his suffering to me.On the contrary, it was my studies, my health, and my future that he was really concerned about.He told me: “ The real nature of a man is in being staunch.Man should learn to carry the burden of grief.” And then he passed away in piece, leaving me a succession of recollection.His words echo in my mind.All he did was plain and simple, but rooted in my heart.As soon as I gathered them together, Father became a great book.I met Father in a dream.He smiled, and told me in his gentle voice: “Boy, treasure your mother;treasure everything that you possess.”

父親在世的時候，我們之間總保持著深厚的父子之情。我相信，在每一個家庭，父子的情感就像涓涓溪流，平淡無奇而又富于深意。
父親常與我暢談為人的道理。有時，守著一杯茶，我們可以談到天亮。在那一個個夜晚，父親教會我誠實、善良。他曾經(jīng)告訴我：一生中最重要的事，莫過于學會做人。他的話就像我心靈的天空中最明亮的星，在我不知所措時為我指明道路。
父親精于歷史，擁有敏銳的洞察力。他能把乏味的歷史事件編作有趣的故事講給我聽。有時，我們甚至就某些事展開爭論。他的故事就像三月天里的春風，點化了我冰凍冥頑的思想。
后來，父親生了重病。他從來不向我表現(xiàn)一絲痛苦，相反，他真正關心的還是我的學業(yè)，我的身體健康和我的未來。他對我說：“男人的本性是堅韌。男人要學會承受痛苦。”
他靜靜地走了。留給我一長串的追憶與思索。他的話語仍然在我耳邊縈繞。他所做的事全都樸素而又平實，卻深深滲入了我的心田。當我把這點滴匯合一處，父親也就變成了一部巨著。我在夢中見到了父親，他微笑著，用平和的聲音對我說：“孩子，珍惜你的媽媽，珍惜你的一切吧。”父親。謝謝！

We called her a material girl because she was so obsessed with her possessions.Ma Nuo has won plaudits for her stylish appearance, but is equally derided for her material girl image.I mentioned her just because she can be a good example of the way that people lose themselves to money.In this day and age, it has become a ‘dog eat dog’ world.To some degree, it is no wonder that Ma Nuo has this attitude but as for college students, losing ourselves has become too common a problem.With influence from the news and other media, we are constantly steered in the direction of those who are most glamorous and famous.We are subject to temptation and are faced with the stress of everyday life.Therefore, we lose ourselves with ease.For example, the number of college students who are smoking and drinking continues to rise, with the figure now at 11.7%.There is also a growing trend for students to enter into relationships with one another.However, for many of them, their feelings in the heart are still plagued by darkness.In addition, many students believe it is important to ‘keep up with the Joneses’ and therefore indulge in buying luxury brand products such as clothes, mobile phones etc.But are these products necessary? Absolutely not!It is a waste of money, time and energy.Eventually, people will come to regret this waste.Just as the adage states: you never miss your water, until your well runs dry.To Avoid losing ourselves, we are supposed to have goals—be the person who we are and become the person who we want to be.Don’t lose yourself to the power of brand names and the pressures of the modern society.In other words, participate in the act of living your life.Make our choices.Be proactive.
