大學英語讀書筆記

最近，我開始閱讀《文學與人生》這本書，由于英語水平不太高，我閱讀起來很困難。總是要反復(fù)的查單詞、看中文解析，才能勉強讀懂。

今天我突然想到了一個問題：我以前一直覺得我學習英語這門外語就是記單詞(Words)，詞組(Phrases)，學習語法(Grammar)和用法(Usages)。確實，語言是由句子組成，而句子是由單詞，詞組，語法和用法組成。但是，這些只是語言的很小的組成部分。要想學好一門外語，我覺得要從一個更廣泛的角度上來認識語言的實質(zhì)和真諦。

從某種意義上來講，語言是一種文化，學習語言就要像了解異國文化一樣，做到“入鄉(xiāng)隨俗”。“隨俗”在這里的意思是隨母語者的語言習俗。而母語者在交流中所使用的語言不僅僅是由單詞，詞組，語法和用法組成，而更重要的是講究更宏觀意義上的要素：即“語音，語調(diào)，語氣和語境”，我稱之為“語言的四大要素”。

我要舉個例子來更好地說明這個問題：有一部情景喜劇叫That’s So Raven.講述的是一位具有特異功能的少女，在舊金山的生活和學習的趣味經(jīng)歷。有一次，Raven 希望得到父親餐廳一位學生主雇的名字，而父親為了保守主雇的隱私，拒絕告訴自己的女兒Raven。Raven很誠懇，很無奈地說了一句：Dad, we are blood!意思是提醒父親：我們是親父女，有什么可保密的?

看到上面這句話，如果脫離了上下文，光從“單詞，詞組，語法和用法”的角度來講沒有人會懂。結(jié)果就是在缺少上下文的情況下，我們不知所云。

但是，如果從語言的四大要素——語音，語調(diào)，語氣和語境——來看，上句的意思就自然而然呈現(xiàn)在眼前。

綜上所述，學習語言，不要只注重單詞，詞組和語法這些書面因素，更重要的是要體會到句子的語氣，語調(diào)，以及最重要的語境這幾項語言交流的要素。這時候我們就會發(fā)現(xiàn)自己在不知不覺中可以自由地運用該句了，同時英語水平也會大幅度提高。

給簡歷“注水”的第一種方式是“以大夸小”。如果你在學生會只是擔任一年的普通干事，就可以說自己做了兩年的部長；而如果你做了一年的宣傳部長，則可以說是當主管宣傳等方面工作的副主席。如果你只發(fā)表一篇文章，就在簡歷上說自己至少發(fā)表了10余篇文章，并“挑選”其中一篇，也就是唯一的一篇，復(fù)印一份夾在簡歷中。
