It is a common sense that the earth is the only homeland of human beings.Everyone knows the fact that we humanity cannot survive without the circumstance surrounding us.However, it is not all the people know the importance and urgency of taking action to protect our environment.As we all know, with the development of economy, people pay more attention to the economic benefits, but ignore the environmental protection, so contamination has become a serious problem in nowadays.The consequences of pollution have emerged, such as sand storm, soil erosion, haze weather, global warming and frequent natural disasters.The contamination destroys our home, and we have responsibilities to protect our environment.After all, there is one world, and we are in one home.In fact, the pollution of environment has become more and more serious in nowadays.As far as I am concerned, we can classify it into five kinds: air pollution, water pollution, light pollution, sound pollution and chemical pollution.Of course, every type of pollution is harmful to us.Air pollution, one of the major pollutions in the modern world, has brought us many damages.We all know that clean air is important to good health, but in modern times the clean air is

polluted by a sea of waste gases which from the cars and factories.Besides, the human activities like sand storm, which is caused by people’s cutting down trees excessively, also lead to the air pollution.Water pollution is the contamination of water bodies.Water pollution affects drinking water, rivers, lakes and oceans all over the world.This consequently harms human health and the natural environment.Water is an absolute necessity in our daily life, and we can’t live without clean water.Therefore, the water protection is very important.Light pollution.We all know that the light is one of the greatest inventions in our world, and it’s also important.However the increased use of light can cause problems.You may think that light pollution isn’t something extraordinarily important;you may believe that every other type of pollution has a larder impact on the environment than light pollution does;you may not even heard of it before.But light pollution is serious, and it needs to be addressed by everyone.Noise pollution is displeasing or excessive noise that may disrupt the activity or balance of human or animal life.Machines and transportation systems mainly cause the source of most outdoor noise.And it also will be harmful to our health.Chemical pollution, not like other pollutions, is rear, but as soon as it happened, it will be extremely harmful to our health, and maybe it will lead to death.The chemical pollution is caused by the leak of chemicals, and it will affect a large area with a long time.The damage it caused is immeasurable, so we must try our best to avoid the chemical pollution.The pollution not only destroys the environment that we live but the health of us.People always have the thought that man can conquer nature, and whether it is right, I have no idea.But as a member of the big family, we have responsibilities to protect our environment.Don’t forget that we just have one world, and the earth is our common homeland.
