The answer is apparent: real friends.Life with a bosom friend is sufficient.I do really agree with this saying after I watch the movie The King’s Speech.The King’s Speech is a biopic about how King George VI, the father of Queen Elizabeth II, overcame his stuttering problem with the help of a little-known Australian speech therapist named Lionel Logue.Bertie, King George VI, is a fatherly, responsible but self-abased and irritable prince.Lionel, an Australian speech therapist out of professor is a calm, wise and affectionate old man.When the two men of different character meet because the duchess recommends Lionel to cure the king’s stuttering interesting things happen.When they first meet, Lionel insists on calling himself Lionel and calling the prince Bertie, which is immediately objected by the prince.But at last, the prince accepts Lionel’s special teaching method and treats him as a friend.This is a movie without an antagonist.The strongest enemy that King George VI must confront and beat is himself.When he is a prince, he is expected too much but he is never too stressful to escape;on the contrary, he is familiar with national affairs and international situation and he cares much about his people than his brother Edward who is expected to get to throne at first.In his subconsciousness, he wants to be a1

good king and be affirmed by his father, but he shrinks because his stuttering.Lionel absolutely knows his king and endeavors to cure him and encourage him to confront himself.As all of the friends in the world, Lionel and King George VI have quarrels, after which they come together.It is no doubt that King George VI treats Lionel to be his real friend;otherwise he won’t let Lionel call himself Bertie which is the proprietary rights of his family, he won’t leak his miserable childhood to Lionel, he won’t swallow his pride to apologize to Lionel and he won’t insist on Lionel to be his consultant after he knows that Lionel is not a doctor.Lionel treats King George VI to be his friend rather than a king;otherwise he won’t ask for equal and always behaves unhurriedly, he won’t say something poignant to the king for the sake of his friend.A friend in need is a friend indeed.There two themes which move me deeply.One is that after King George V’ death Bertie comes to Lionel’s to pour out his tormented;when he thanks Lionel, Lionel says “what are friends for”.Only real friends will say this because they want to help you but never expect rewards.The other is that when King George VI has only 40 minutes to prepare his speech and he needs his friend Lionel who asks the driver to drive to the palace as fast as possible in spite of the fighter plane’s flying above him.Maybe the best best friend is someone who cares about you more than himself.Their truehearted friendship reminds me of some lyrics in the song Shining Friends: See my smile, my friendship.We are with you, holding hands, you have got to believe you are my destiny.We are meant to be your friends.That’s what a friendship should be.I think they are shining friends of each other.The King’s Speech is a biographical movie but not a boring one.Besides the impressive friendship, it also contains many wonderful elements, for instance, visual performance of its actors like Colin Firth, Geoffrey Rush and Helena Bonham Carter, winding plot, real background and suitable costumes.The King’s Speech is thought highly by people and it receives 4 awards from Oscar, including best film, best director, best actor and best original screenplay.In my opinion, it is love that accomplish this movie;love between friends, between husband and wife, between father and daughters, these are the most affecting plots.The King’s Speech presents the background of that time to us, tells us how to confront defects of ourselves and annotates us what bosom friends are.In relief, it definitely lives up to its frame.

Rarely do you get to see a movie that promises a lot and then, lives up to it's promise.The King's Speech is a rare piece, indeed.The movie starts off with a stammering speech and signs off with a staggering one, with hardly any glitches in between.The basic premise of the movie is fairly simple.A king with a stutter is helped by a maverick speech therapist to overcome his problem and become an inspiring orator.That sounds like a very known territory to most movie goers.But few minutes into the movie, and you realize that this one simply pushes the bar a notch higher.It is a very pleasing movie, doesn't lead the audience into a lot of uncomfortable questions.However, the artistry lies in the overall balance of the movie.You slowly start getting gripped by David Seidler's screenplay.The actors are superb, takes it slow and steady with superb grip on each of their characters.While Colin Firth puts in a spectacular performance(one you can't miss), Geoffrey Rush goes a bit more old school and pulls off a subtle and deep portrayal.One that fills up your heart but also keeps your brain active.Humor comes in here and there, with a very easy flow and steady pace.Not for a single moment do you perceive the movie as dull.Helena Bonham Carter is good.Guy Pearce is appropriate, though he does look a bit too casual at times(maybe that was an intentional character flaw).Most of the movie had been filmed indoors, albeit with eloquent art direction.But the occasional sequences shot outside had been filmed very beautifully, portraying a very dreamy picture of the then England.Sometimes, the camera goes in too close to the characters, and stays there for a while, just long enough to give us a sense of suffocation, quite an artistic equivalent of a speech disorder!But then again, negative shades had been whitewashed with joyous ones and you never perceive it as a dark movie.Direction wise, Tom Hooper is bang on!This is the kind of a movie where you want to give a lot of credit to the director.The set-up is such that the dramatic elements are high but needs to be tamed, so that it doesn't goes over board.And Mr.Hooper hits the bulls eye!Perfect balance.All points considered, it's a brilliant movie and a must watch.Even now, the die is being cast.By 5pm today Pacific Time(1am tomorrow GMT), academicians will have lodged the last of their Oscar votes.On Sunday, these may or may not provide The King's Speech with the coronation so many expect.Yet even if, in spite of that avalanche of nominations, this doesn't happen, perhaps it won't matter all that much.This film can manage without Hollywood's ultimate accolade.It's built its own legend already.本片不止獲得了盛贊的影評、無數(shù)的獎項和驚人的票房收入。它讓人們在街道上排隊等待觀影、在播放演職員表時起立鼓掌。本片是英國人熱衷于拍攝的那種低成本歷史劇，沒有什么特效。因此其成功顛覆了許多傳統(tǒng)看法。

Actually,before the class we watched the movie, I have seen the movie by myself because of its fame as the King's Speech has won the Oscar for the Best Picture at the 83rd Academy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles.As known to all, it is a very touching, and quite inspiring story about a man who became King George VI, the father of Queen Elizabeth II.I have never known that he, a king ,should suffer so much to fufil his responsibility，while his brother just abandoned his throne for his so-called true love，which in my eyes，is reallyridiculous and irresponsible.And it’s also his brother that pushed George VI to be stronger, Through a set of unexpected techniques, and as a result of the friendship, Bertie is able to find his voice and lead the country through the war.The film is well paced, and carries me along to the emotional climax, so that, even though I’m watching the movie a second time, it still hold my breath all through the movie,during which I feel the perseverance and patience Bertie owned once again.The most impressing part is that the King bear the

responsibility and finally suceed through his hardworking train，despite how tiring and sweating，with his lips trembling again and again.As the film develops, the complexities of the character are revealed.Bertie’s brother Edward VIII focus his attention on his marriage，giving no care to the management of his country,though his father George v wished him to be a good king before his death.He didn’t know he was giving up his country.He just misunderstood the significance of his life.You see, the prince and Mrs

Simpson talked on the phone, the younger brother George six on the floor said, “mother iswaiting for you for dinner”, he said: “she forgot that father's clock is faster for half an hour.” And then he went to put the clock back half a lap.How absurd he was!

The doctor,according to the movie and the true history,Leon was not a professional doctor, he just had some speech experience of the guidance, but helped George VI solve the problem of nine experts.According to

people desperately needed a wise leader.Then Edward VIII gave the throne to his brother and George VI’s wife Elizabeth also would be the future queen mother, Through a series of training, the new king got big improvement, overcame his stuttering problem, Leon also won the people's respect and honored to be the king's friends.I really enjoy the king’s wife, Elizabeth,inspiring his husband though the king is always losing his temper.Bertie can not compare with his smart and handsome brother, he never tried to be a king, but history and fate chose him.As the film has shown, if not for Elizabeth's full support, George VI won't have later achievement, if it weren't for the queen’s unyielding insistment, even a language therapists he was unwilling to meet.After searching for the true story, I admire Elizabeth’s kind heart even more, George VI awarded the medal of “fine heart” immediately to his wife after his coming to the throne : “without her help and support for me , I can't afford to take on the burden.” He and his wife's portraits are printed on commemorative stamps , when queen avatar has never appear on the stamps, this shows George VI’s attention on his wife.In addition,it teaches me to find the root of the problem and suit the remedy to the case,just like the doctor who uses his particular and maybe a little werid ways to cure the stuttering of the king.Moreover, a real hero, is not one saying how wonderful he is but one with a sincere heart and working enthusiasm.And everybody has a weak side.However,we can be stronger and more capable through hard work.Besides, This film is very beautiful, all composition of a picture, all of the screen, are graceful and calm.The king's speech is completely played in a modern look to structure the history, combining serious history with relaxing plot..Such an insping movie gives me much benefit and help, I believe it deserve me seeing a third time.And I will learn more about this story,in order to fufil myself.

尚且忽略外界是用何種眼光看待皇室成員，盡管甚至有史料披露喬治六世與其妻子間存在惡劣關(guān)系，但至少在電影中，能塑造出一個事實上存在或不存在人物，使他成為觀眾心中的精神英雄，給觀眾以積極的心理暗示，這也是電影之所以能發(fā)展至今的原因之一。

勵志的故事套在誰身上都有可能會魅力無限，所以勵志的電影很多，但《國王的演講》卻能脫穎而出，究其原因主要有兩點：

一是電影制作的精良程度。無可厚非，《國王的演講》是勵志電影，《杜拉拉升職記》（徐靜蕾版）同樣也是，區(qū)別就在于一個是描寫皇室生活，一個是描寫職場生活，從大眾化得角度來說，后者更要“親民”一些，但作為一部國產(chǎn)電影，《杜拉拉升職記》為何難以得到國人的恭維？這就要看電影制作的精良程度了。顯而易見，《國王的演講》的制作是相當精良的，該片毫不吝嗇地大量運用蒙太奇手法，其中伸縮鏡頭很自然地帶動畫面的劃接，更是堪稱一絕；而《杜拉拉升職記》在炫麗的剪輯開場之后，一切都落入了電視電影的拍攝水準，有些地方甚至到了讓人覺得剪輯都是多余的地步。

二是《國王的演講》這部電影絕不單單是勵志那樣簡單。

喬治六世身為一個口吃的公爵，他自己也很有自知之明，繼承王位不是他的初衷，但老國王的死去，以及愛德華八世為其偉大的愛情觀而選擇退位時，王位就自然而然地落到了他的身上。且王位本來就是個有名無實的東西，之前老國王也提到這一點“我們只不過是在眾人面前演戲”，所以在上有首相壓制，下有議會干擾，旁有教會的追擊下，國王的功能只有一個，那就是作為公眾人物的他們，替議會和首相演講。但偏巧，這唯一的功能也正是喬治六世最大的難題。因此，他之所以要想盡一切辦法來消除自己口吃的毛病，并不是因為別人的譏諷，也不是家人朋友的激勵，而是來源于首相、議會、教會的“政治”壓迫，要知道
