This winter holidays, I read many books,some of them are science class books,and the others are literary class books.Among them,what impressed me most was the novel named Treasure Island.The book was written by Robert Louis Stevenson.Once Kant said: “I have chosen the way for myself, I will go along the way firmly.Since I have chosen the way,nothing should stop me.”Yes,if a person always avoids the difficulties instead of facing it,this action is a waste of his life.His life will be meaningless,and he will never have any success in the future.On the other side,if a person has a strong sense of responsibility,he will be a successful owner.A long time ago, I was afraid to face difficulties,but since I read this story ,I have been determined to do a successful owner like Jim Hawkins.Although he was always prone to get excited,his courage and wisdom make me admire.I have learned many things from him,like bravery,knowledge,savvy and so on.If we also have the spirit that Jim has, many difficult questions must be readily solved.The first person was Jim Hawkins in the story,whose mother kept the Admiral Benbow Inn,and who shared in the adventures from start to finish.An old sea dog came to the inn one day and hired Jim to keep a watch out for other sailors, but he was hunted out and given a “black spot”.Jim and his mother almost escaped death when some pirates came to the inn for the sea dog’s map.Jim snatched up the treasure map , when they were forced to retreat from the inn.The map showed the location of the pirate Flint’s buried treasure,which Jim, Doctor Livesey, and Squire Trelawney determined to find.Fitting out a ship, they hired hands and set off for their adventure.Unfortunately, their crew included one pirate,who was also in search of the treasure,as well a number of his confederates.Jim overheared the pirate's plan to mutiny and warned his comrades.The battle began.After a soul-stirring battle,due to the efforts of the various crew members, the victory downed to this side of Jim.Finally the victors came back home safely with the treasures.After reading this book, I admire the little hero very much.And it makes me feel more.Jim Hawkins was a timid and shy boy at first.At the beginning of the voyage, Jim was only a waiter in the cabin.But he was able to fight with the enemies, and recaptured the ship from the enemies at last.Although I did not go to the adventurous there personally.But in my mind,his honest face always appears,around me.On his side,he looked so noble, kind, brave.He was always able to beat pirate,win the victory.How brave he is!I have benefited immensely from him.I have learned a lot,I know what the spirit of tenacity is and courage are the treasures of life,I also understand that we should not bow our heads when we get into the trouble.Instead,we should face the difficulties bravely.Only in this way can lead to the success.There was a blind man named Pew.He was a very cunning and ruthless person.At last,he died under the feet of a horse.This makes readers very happy.Many people would think this would be a punishment for him.But some of his words still give me a deep impression.“There will be a opportunity to make a fortune in your eyes,you are still hesitant!......You know clearly the map was taken away not very far,however you has no courage to continue looking for it......”.This

statement gives me a question.If you are the memeber of these men,there is a chance of success in front of you.Do you have the courage to move on? In our real lives,we run after knowledge,we run after all the things that we like.Then we must encounter various difficulties and failure.At first,it needs the courage.The courage can increase a person's confidence,and with confidence we can face all the setbacks and solve them.Of course,in addition to courage, but also has the same indomitable spirit,as Jim.When we encounter the difficulties,wemust not say: ”NO!“Otherwise, your life will be wasted.To be brave enough to face difficulties.Marie Curie once said: ”If you can follow the ideal life,a true free spirit,brave determination and honest idea,you will be able to reach the realm of perfection and beauty."

Let us learn from Jim's spirit-to be brave enough to face difficulties and has an indomitable spirit to overcome difficulties.

Book Report of

Lots of people may read the masterpiece called .This is an exciting adventure story about a poor boy who lives in a small inn, the Admiral Benbow, run by his parents in Black Hill Cove.The boy’s name is Jim Hawkins.One day, unexpectedly, he finds a treasure map which indicates the treasure hidden by the pirates in Skeleton Island.Then Jim, Dr.Livesey, Captain Smollett and his friend, with a group of sailors, set out journey for the treasure.After a short time, some greed sailors who are led by Long John Silver rebel for the map.These two groups fight fiercely.Evil can never prevail over good.Through each justicial person’s effort, Jim and Captain Smollett win the battle.And later then they go back home with the boat filled with treasure.At the end of the story, Silver runs away with one of the bags of coins, perhaps three or four hundred coins.Captain Smollett no longer goes to sea.Gray, Jim’s friend, saves his money and now is a half-owner and captain of a fine ship.Ben Gunn, who is marooned by pirates, gets a thousand pounds.However, he spends all his money in three weeks.Then he has to beg and luckily is given a job as a gatekeeper when he comes back.Though I don’t have a chance to adventure as Jim does, the face of Jim often appears in my mind.Jim is a kind-hearted, brave and ambitious boy.He can always find a good way to solve the problems or beat the pirates.And this book shocks me when I read this part: You are in trouble.Ship lost, treasure lost, men lost.And if you want to know who did it—it was me!I was in the apple barrel the night we saw the island, and I heard every word you said.And the ship? It was me who cut her ropes and killed the men aboard her……Why am I shocked? Because I can’t believe a young boy has such great courage to say those words, and this is admired by me.There’s someone I admire, and of course, there’s someone I hate, like Silver.What I can only find from the pirates are cruelty and selfishness.He kills people without mercy and even becomes crueler.His sole pursuit of treasure results in his red hand never dry.Although it is only a novel, the scenes of the novel always come to my mind.It gives me a lesson.We can’t be selfish, because the selfish one only focuses on himself and can commit immorality or even crimes when trying to protect his own interest.We can see the justice of the spiritual wealth from Jim.What’s more, in my point of view, we should save money in the bank instead of wasting it in our daily life.Wasting money is a bad behavior.The less money we use, the higher spirit level we will have.If we use up our money like Ben Gunn one day, we will be in a big trouble.As a saying goes, “No pain, No gain”.If we try our best to do everything as Jim, I think we will make more progress in many fields.That’s all.Thank you.浙江省金華市永康市二中

Book Report of Treasure Island 1.About the Author.Robert Louis Stevenson was a Scottish novelist, essayist, and poet, who contributed several classics to the world of children's literature.Stevenson was born in Edinburgh on November 13th 1850.His grandfather and father were civil engineering，made great achievements in the lighthouse construction.And they wished that Stevenson would take over their own enterprise.In 1867, Stevenson received his father’s decree to enter the Edinburgh University to study civil engineering.In fact, he loved literature when he was a child.So he asked his father to study literature, and was refused.But his father let him study law.Since childhood, however, Stevenson's natural inclination had been toward literature;eventually he took up letters seriously, soon making his way into the first rank of contemporaneous writers by the excellence of his style.In 1878 and 1879, he published two works of the theme of travel, since then the continued to publish works.In 1883, he published Treasure Island.The story was praised as The Best Work of Children’s Adventure Story as soon as the work was published.Since then Stevenson had became a famous writer.However, 1894, only 44-year-old Stevenson suddenly suffered from stroke,and died of illness in the Pacific south of the capital, Apia, Western Samoa and was buried in the local mountains overlooking the Pacific.Stevenson had a lot of famous works, such as Treasure Island, Kidnapped, A Child’s Garden of Verses and New Arabian Nights.2.Background.Treasure island

is regard the Pacific islands as the background of the writing, the island is located in the distance Costarica coast 300 miles of sea, was pirates rest stop the 17th century, the pirates will predatory treasure in this outfit handling discharge, buried hidden for this unknown island.It’s sounds very mysterious.It is said that there are at least six place buried treasure, among them, the most attractive treasure-seekers is the treasure of Lima, Peru.The Treasure Island, which is also called the Youth Island, and now is a special administrative region of Cuba.It used to have the name of Treasure Island or also Pine Island.In the long 4 years of Spanish's ruling, this place is the paradise gathered by the world-famous pirates of the Caribbean , those who hide the wealth they robbed in the cave of the island, and it has the origin of the name.3.Main Idea.In the eighteenth century, British sailor boy Jim got the legendary map of Treasure Island from dying bill.In support of the local squire, they organized a team of expedition went to Treasure Island.The pirate leader Silver boarded the ship acted as a cook and his a group of men also acted as sailors on board.On the Treasure Island, Silver and his men occupied the ship by launching rebellion.The sailor boy saved the good men three times.Later Silver conflicted with the other pirates and decided to cooperate with doctor and Ben to deal with the other pirates.Finally, the good men gained the treasure.From the whole novel, we can see that the main character Jim originally was a timid and shy boy, however , Jim has obviously became a little hero after going through this adventure.As a kid, he saved the good persons three times, which showing Jim’s amazing resourcefulness and courage.Though Jim is a kid, his courage and loyalty is admirable.Even though in face of the ferocious pirates, he can admit that what he had done, and he adhered to stand his ground that would rather die than cahoots with the pirates.In addition, it is also admirable that Jim kept his words.When Jim and the doctor had a conversation, Jim could run away.But Jim did not do it, because he had sworn to the pirate Silver.He gave up the chance to escape.I guess even the adult can not do this in order to keep his words.It can be said that Jim is a real man.4.What can we learn from this novel.In addition, to the surprising and exciting plot of the novel is that the central idea is worth thinking.The real intention of the novel tells us the love of humanity and justice often over evil.The main character Jim is the representation of justice, and finally he won, while the pirate Silver who is the representation of evil, finally was spurned by people.Besides, I can feel the money has a great temptation to human.In the novel money actually had changed the feelings between people, corroded the world and everything.Of course, money itself is innocent, but the material and greedy heart that drives people pursue the money by all bad means.As an old saying goes: Gentleman’s love of money in a proper way.We should hold a right attitude toward money.At the same time, we need to know that bland pursuit of money finally become vain and greed and the desire will never bring us a better life.

“Treasure island” is a well-known adventure story book.After reading Treasure Island, I thought that it’s important to be brave.If we want to gain the character of brave, we should be ready to take risk, dare to explore the new area along our lives.In other words, if we want be survive and successful, we should be adventurers in the sea of life.It is said that the best stock exchange brokers in America are people who are used to be athletes and not the graduates of finance.Therefore the parents should give their children the chance to adventure.However, parents always tell their children what to do, when to do, how to do and why to do.In this way, parents become the masters, while the children，to some extant, become the servants.They may dare not to do anything at all, which absolutely is not the purpose of parents.So you can see from the story that greed and desire will never bring a wonderful life.

Plot: “Treasure island” is a well-known adventure story book.The story happened in eighteenth Century.Jim is a little boy, who was eager and enthusiastic about the sea treasure hunt.Once, he went to the Treasure Island, deal with the pirates and seamen, experienced all sorts of matters------sincere, loyal crew, hypocritical, cruel, between the seamen and witnessed a series of breath-taking stories.Master Jim was a timid, shy child.After his father died, he started the adventure.To begin with, Jim was just a waiter in the cabin, but he had the courage to fight with the enemy, and later recaptured a ship from the pirate, and became the new captain.With courage, a timid and shy boy became a hero.At the end of the story, Jim returned, vowing that he would never hunt again.Since then, Jim had often been troubled by a nightmare.Coins made Jim nightmares, rather than wealth and a better life.So you can see from the story that greed and desire will never bring a wonderful life.Comments: After reading Treasure Island, I found that it’s important to be brave.Brave has a close relationship with risk-taking.If we want to gain the character of brave, we should be ready to take risk, dare to explore the new area along our lives.In other words, if we want be survive in the new century and be successful, we should be adventurers in the sea of life.It is said that the best stock exchange brokers in America are people who are used to be athletes and not the graduates of finance.Why?
