謎語(yǔ)采用了描寫(xiě)其特征的方法，英語(yǔ)中這種謎語(yǔ)被稱為事物謎，也叫做描述性謎語(yǔ)(descriptive riddles)。事物謎的謎面通常是用比喻、暗示或其他方法來(lái)描繪所猜謎底的特征，和漢語(yǔ)中物謎的謎面構(gòu)成及猜測(cè)方法基本相同。
