The next night the pair came to rest at the house of a very poor, but very hospitable farmer and his wife.After sharing the little food they had the couple let the angles sleep in their bed where they could have a good night’s rest.When the sun came up the next morning the angles found the farmer and his in tears.Their only cow, whose milk had been their sole income, lay dead in the field.The younger angle was infuriated and asked the older angle how he could have let this happen.“The first man had everything, yet you helped him,” he accused.“The second family had little but was willing to share everything, and you let the cow lie”.“Things aren’t always what they seem,” the older angle replied.“when we stayed in the basement of the mansion, I noticed there was gold stored in that hole in the wall.Since the owner was so obsessed with greed and unwilling to share his good fortune, I sealed the wall so he wouldn’t find it.”

愿生命恬淡如湖水

睿智的莊子給我們留下一個發人深省的故事：一個博弈者用瓦盆做賭注，他的技藝可以發揮得淋漓盡致；而他拿黃金做賭注，則大失水準。莊子對此的定義是“外重者內拙”。

由于做事過度用力和意念過于集中，反而將平素可以輕松完成的事情搞糟了。現代醫學稱之為“目的顫抖”。太想紉好針的手在顫抖，太想踢進球的腳在顫抖。華倫達原本有著一雙在鋼索上如履平地的腳，但是，過分求勝之心硬是使他雙腳失去了平衡——那著名的“華倫達心態”以華倫達的失足殞命而被賦予了一種沉重的內涵。

人生豈能無目的？然而，目的本是引領著你前行的，如果將目的做成沙袋捆縛在身上，那么每前進一步，巨大的牽累與莫名的恐懼就會趕來羈絆你的手腳。把目光放得遠一些，讓生命恬淡成一泓波瀾不驚的湖水，告訴自己：水窮之處待云起，危崖旁側覓坦途。

盈與虛

月有陰晴圓缺，人有離合死生，命有否泰變化，年有四季更替。只要你細細觀察，便會發現，他們看似無常，卻是有常；看似殘破，卻是完滿；看似動蕩，實則凝止。它們千年萬年總脫不開盈與虛、死與生、否與泰、寒與暖、消與長、日與夜，合與分、得意與夫意、繁榮與凋零的更換。

所以熬盡長夜，你便能見到黎明；飽受痛苦，你便能擁有快樂；耐過殘冬，你便無需蟄伏；落盡寒梅，你便能企盼新春。

正因為虛之后有盈，所以便充滿希望，正因為盈之后有虛，所以便知道滿足；正因為此虛而彼盈，所以宇宙能均衡；正因為此死而彼生，所以萬物能延續。

宇宙之道，不過盈虛而已。

生與死

我們以自己的啼聲開始了旅程，又在親友的哭聲中結束了人生，我們離開了母體而生，又離開了世界而死，我們被一把推上人生的舞臺，又被一把扯了下去。似乎生與死這兩件人生最大的事，我們一點干涉的權利都沒有。幸而在這當中，我們還能有些作為，使自己平凡地生，卻能偉大地死；在母親一人的陣痛中墜地，卻能在千萬人的哀慟中辭世。

鑄 劍

鋼鐵就像人，受的鍛燒愈深，它的力量愈韌；受的淬浸愈冷，它的意志愈堅；受的磨勵愈細，它的鋒刃愈利。所以同樣是平凡的鐵砂，經過不同的冶煉，有的成為生鐵，鑄造笨重的器物；有的成為鍛鐵，制造精密的儀表；有的成為鋼鐵，塑造刀刃與槍炮。

“再三地燃燒自己以求塑造，再三地淬勵自己以求鋒利。”能這樣的鐵砂，就能成鋼；能這樣的凡夫，就能成偉人。

得與失

人在大的得意中常會遭遇小的失意，后者與前者比起來，可能微不足道，但是人們卻往往會怨嘆那小小的失，而不去想想既有的得。大約有得必有失，有失必有得；所得既多，便是再增加，也不覺得欣喜，稍有所失，便惶惶恐恐；所失既多，就是再失，也不感到痛惜，稍有所獲，便十分快樂。如此說來，得意何嘗不是失意之由，失意又何嘗不是得意之始呢？

“人遺弓，人得之”，應該是對得失最豁達的看法了。就我們個人而言，固然有得有失；就全人類而言，不是都一樣嗎？這仿佛云來云往，雨來雨往，這世上總有晴朗與陰雨的地方；又正如生生死死，死死生生，這世間的一切總是繼往開來，生息不斷的。所以得與失，到頭來根本就一無所得，也一無所失啊！人不是為失敗而生

我想這部小說（《老人與海》）大家都看過了，在這部名著里，海明威刻畫出一個堅毅而不向命運屈服的老漁人。雖然他最后所得到的只是一副魚的骨架，但是他在精神上是成功的。

我們的生命中也可能遭遇到這種命運，但是不能唯恐失敗而退縮。因為光榮地死，常比茍且地生，更有生的價值，這也就是海明威說“人不是為失敗而生，一個男子漢可以被消滅，但是不能被打敗”的道理了！

不落幕的舞臺

人生像一場戲，這個世界是一個不落幕的舞臺，我們則是穿梭其間的演員；有的人演配角，有的人演主角，臺上不可能老是我們在演；有時我們可以走到后臺，喝點茶，或是檢討一下自己的演出，到我們該出場的時候，就又回到舞臺上；不論我們是主角、是配角，這場戲總不能少了我們；不論我們是在前臺、在后臺，就是為了演好這場戲。

一本讀不完的書

如果這個世界像是一本讀不完的書，我們就是讀這本書的人，它不可能因為我們的閱讀而增加，也不會因為我們的荒廢而減少。它是那么的充實、完美，且不含有任何創作者的主觀與文詞的堆砌；它蘊藏著無盡的寶藏，等待我們去發掘。

每個人都擁有這么一部偉大的書，問題是我們能不能閱讀它、咀嚼它、消化它，如果只是放在書架上，就如同沒有一樣了！

中國人是最能夠“忍”的民族，由“忍”這個字，就能看出造字者對忍的態度。幾乎每個偉人，都有超人的忍耐力。周文王曾忍食子之痛；孫臏曾忍斷足之苦；韓信曾忍胯下之屈；勾踐曾忍嘗糞之辱。也就因為他們能忍，日后才能雪恥復仇，成不朽的偉業，可知“忍”這個字有多么重要。

忍是理智的抉擇，是成熟的表現。忍有一個最重要的條件，就是要眼光放得遠；為長久打算，忍一時之痛。所以說：“小不忍則亂大謀”，“忍片時，風平浪靜；退一步，海闊天空”。

生與死

生與死是人生兩件最重大的事，一個是起點，一個是終站，在生命的旅途上，它們各處極端，差異也相當大。

生是創造，帶來的是長久的發展；死是消失，留下的是一串回憶。生時每個人都差不多，因為他們談不上功業，德性；死時卻有相當大的差距，因為數十年的得失都擺在眼前。生如果是丟下去的骰子，死就是靜止時的數目；生如果是問號，死就是句點。

所以我們可以平凡地生，卻應當偉大地死。

句點·嘆號·問號

生命就像是一篇文章，在文章結尾有些人用的是句點，有些人用的是驚嘆號，更有些人以問號來結束。

孔子、孟子是圣人，他們建立了自己思想體系，所以用的是句點；岳飛、王勃，壯志未酬身先死，所以是驚嘆號；至于不知為何來到這個世界，又懵懵懂懂過一輩子的人，只好以問號結束了。

生命的價值 西洋后期印象派大師梵?高的畫，我想許多人都看過了。他那黃色熾熱的色彩和充滿律動的線條，給予我們強烈的感受。梵高有著坎坷的境遇，雖然從二十六歲才正式走上畫家的途徑，三十六歲就過世了，但是僅僅十年間卻留給我們許多不朽的作品，在藝術上的成就，較之活了九十多歲的畢加索并不遜色。

由此可知，生命的價值不在于長短，而在于那段時間中所建立的一切，這也就是王勃、李賀，享年不過三十，卻能揚名千古的道理了。

人生的四季

我們常說：“人生不過數十寒暑”，其實也可以講“人生不過四季”。春天，萬物發舒，生氣蓬勃，雖不免失之嬌柔，卻正像初生的孩子。夏日，林木蓊郁，枝條茂盛，雖不免失之火氣，卻正像健壯的青年。秋天，結實累累，楓紅似火，雖不免過于豐盛華麗，卻正是中年富裕的景象。冬天，白雪皚皚。萬物凋零，雖不免過于蕭條樸素，卻正是老年寧靜的境界。

春天播種是為秋天的收獲；夏日蓊郁是為秋天的裝扮；春夏秋喧嘩則當歸于冬日的寧靜。

生命的唱片

生命是一張唱片，歲月是轉動的唱盤，我們的一言一行使是刻針的顫動。有的人行動快，刻痕密，可以容納較長的音樂；有的人行動慢，刻痕疏，只能錄取較短的東西；有的人活力充沛，留下的是一曲熱門音 樂；有的人波瀾壯闊，留下的是一篇交響樂章；有的人恬淡寧適，變成柔婉的小夜曲；有的人波折破碎，只是一張效果唱片。他們或以高亢沸騰的音符，戢然而止；或以沛然豐盛的交響，完滿結束；或以幽逸淡遠的綿延，輕輕消逝；或以抒情引人，華麗渲染，澎湃激蕩，徐緩而漸歸寧靜。

網思想的小魚

每一汪水塘里，都有海洋的氣息。每一顆石子里，都有沙漠的影子。

所以詩人才說：一支三葉草，再加上我的想象，便是一片廣闊的草原。

走在秋月的田野上，我想起一位詩人對老托爾斯泰的叩問：一切/成熟了的/都必須/低垂著頭么？

沒有錯，我們走過的每一步路，都將成為往事，無論它們是歡樂的相逢，還是痛苦的別離，但是請你相信，無論是熱切的期待，還是深情的追憶，我們所唱過的每一支歌，都不會轉瞬消失，如同羅莎?盧森堡所言：“無論我走到哪里，只要我活著，天空、云彩和生命的美，都將與我同在！”

狹隘而自私的心靈，可以變成自己的地獄，廣闊而開朗的心靈，卻可以成為他人的天堂。地獄和天堂，只有一層之隔。而一切嫉妒的火焰，總是從燃燒自己開始的。

一位年老的作家告訴我說：

“你的雙腳，踏碎了多少時間？但不要懊悔吧，只要踏得真實，誰的步子，都會有深淺。”

在你終于贏得成功的鮮花的時候，難道你不懷念往昔的路口？在你重新營造成功的華貴的屋宇里，難道你不懷念昔日的木頭？

如 花

笑靨如花，真情如花，希望如花，生命亦如花。

每個人都有自己喜愛的花，每個人都有許多種理由善待自己，把一生的光陰凝成時光長河中那一瓣恒久的心香。在盛開的一剎那，燦爛奪目的它會吸引所有的視線。

花是如此柔弱，再美再艷，依然經不起朝來寒雨晚來風。春紅匆匆謝了，只剩下滿懷愁緒。

花卻又是美麗的戰士，風雨中盡管漸漸綠肥紅瘦，終究不曾低頭。生命也是一樣，像精致的玻璃酒杯，常常經不起天災人禍的撞擊，粉碎成一地的璀璨，每一片都是透明的心。生命又常常像曇花，用許多年的淚與汗，摻上心血澆灌，才會有笑看天下的一刻。

如今的世界，愛花的人少了。當人們為著生計奔波的時候，連自己的生命都抓不住，又有誰會傾聽花的訴說？

然而，煩躁的都市啊，請不要忘記，這世界本是鏡花水月。一切如花、花如一切。所以，佛祖拈花而迦葉微笑；這一笑，便是整個世界。

1999年的某天深夜，我駕駛著10輪平板大卡車行駛在漫長、筆直的27號高速公路上，已經穿過了佛羅里達的狹長地帶。運送我上車拖貨，晚上時間是再好不過的了。裝在長長的平板上的是250個蜂箱，里面擠滿了蜜蜂。

我從14歲開始就從事養蜂工作，當時父親從鄰居家帶了些蜂箱回來。養蜂對我來說即是一種職業也是一種愛好，而且它還有另外意義。在我眼里，不起眼的蜜蜂是上帝賦予我們地球最神奇的一種動物。從導航到給無數水果和鮮花授粉，蜜蜂的世界充滿了神秘。我喜歡和它們打交道，它們給我帶來了無窮的樂趣。

那天深夜，公路上特別空寂。如果一切正常，我將在清晨卸下這批蜜蜂，回家與妻子達倫和我們的小兒子朱斯丁共度假日。我低頭看了一眼路面情況，只見一輛汽車迎面駛來。它突然駛進了我的車道，我竭力避免與之相撞，腳猛踩下剎車，并朝右方迅速打方向盤。

800萬只毒蜂向我襲來

我的卡車來了個空翻，車頂撞了個粉碎，擋風玻璃爆裂開了，路面騰起的灰塵從玻璃的裂縫吹了進來。卡車終于停住時，我已經頭朝下，身體被卡在座位上，周圍是壓扁的駕駛艙，將我封閉在了里面。車頂距我的臉只有幾英寸，撞擊將我的一條腿緊緊地夾住，方向盤死死地抵住我的胸腔。我能活動雙臂，但于事無補。

我的臉因擋風玻璃碎片的擦刮出血不止，我的雙臂也被劃破了，到處都是血。我在漆黑一團的黑暗中無法看見一切，可我能感覺到黏糊糊的混合著泥土的氣味。還有其他什么東西和血液混在一起，骯臟且滑膩膩的。是柴油，我心想。油箱肯定漏了！一個小小的火星便能讓眼前的一切吞沒進火海中，而我的身上浸滿了柴油！我屏住呼吸聆聽腳步聲或者汽車駛近的鳴笛聲----任何能顯示援救正在到來的聲音。不幸的是，我聽見了另一種聲音：一種尖銳的嗡嗡聲。
