1.How did you spend your weekend?
2.No pains,no gains.
3.You're never too late to leam. 的用法,而且還可以知道never too...to...
4.Success is doing the same right thing over and over again until you become an expert in your field. 固定搭配do the same thing, over
and over again, become an expert和in your field都可以在句子中加以記憶或鞏固。
5.Friends like you make it a lot easier to get along in a new place.

[Abstract] Research shows mnemonics plays a primary role in knowledge acquisition, especially in language learning.Yet mnemonics is largely ignored in language learning materials and language teaching manuals. This article give a full account of the approach to English words memorizing, will help you to get rid of your mechanical method and have a good command of English vocabulary.[Key words] Techniques of improving the memory, teaching methods,ACTION principle.
例如:記憶單詞mare(母馬、母驢),從讀音角度出發,我們可以聯想到同音詞mayor(市長),從詞意角度出發,我們可以聯想到donkey(驢),mule(騾子)等詞,從詞形角度出發,我們可以聯想到一連串詞匯:bare(赤裸的)care(關心)、dare(敢)、fare(費用)、hare(野兔)、flare(閃耀)、glare(強光)、pare(修剪)、rare(稀有的)、share(分享)、spare(空閑的)、prepare(準備)、square(廣場)、stare(凝視)、tare(雜草)、ware(物品)等。
Ambitious雄心勃勃的-ambiguous含糊不清的;
T即Text surroundings(語境)的縮略。
Show(表現)--shower(陣雨,淋浴)
Count(計算)--counter(柜臺,計數器)
Draw(畫)--drawer(抽屜)
Bow(鞠躬)--bower(樹蔭,涼亭)
sew(縫制)--sewer(陰溝,下水道)
jump(跳)--jumper(無袖連衣裙)
flow(流動)--flower(花)
Dustpan(簸箕)= dust(灰塵)+pan(平底鍋)
peacock(孔雀)= pea(蜿豆)+cock(公雞)
Adolescence(青少年)=a(一個)+dole(救濟)+scene(景色)
Harass(騷擾)= hag(女巫)+grass(草)將“g”;略去。
N即Note-making(作筆記)的縮略。
對同音詞的總結:peak(山峰),peek(偷看),pique(憤怒)統讀[pi:k]
rain(雨),rein(韁繩),reign(統治)統讀[rein]
對形近詞的總結:petal(花瓣),petrel(海燕),petrol(汽油),patrol(巡邏);
stimulate(刺激),simulate(模擬),accumulate(積累),emulate(競爭)。
&nbs
同義詞指詞義相同或相近的詞,如glad(高興的)與pleased(喜悅的)
反義詞指詞義相反或相對的詞,如raw(生的)與ripe(熟的)
回文詞是正讀反讀均可的詞,回文詞有兩種,一種是反讀的詞與原詞相同,如level,deed,civic,madam等,另一種是逆反的詞與原詞不同,生成新詞,如but(但是)-tub(桶),bin(垃圾桶)-nib(鋼筆尖),time(時間)-emit(散發),meet(相見)-teem(充滿),deer(親愛的)-reed(蘆葦)等。
混成詞又稱拼綴詞,由兩個詞合并構成的詞,如smoke(煙)+fog(霧)=smog(煙霧),communications(通信)+satellite(衛星)=comsat(通訊衛星)
medical(醫療的)+care(照管)=medicare(醫療保健),work(工作)+welfare(福利)=workfare(工作福利)等
變形詞指變動詞或短語的字母順序而成新的詞或短語,如:eat(吃)-tea(茶),part(部分)-trap(陷井),dirty room(臟屋子)-dormitory(宿舍),woman Hitler(女希特勒)-mother-in-law(岳母或婆婆),cart-horse(拖貨車的馬)-orchestra(管弦樂隊)等。
擬聲詞是模擬物體、人和動物發出的聲音的詞,例如,bomb(炸彈;轟炸)[擬炸彈爆炸聲],crack(發出爆裂聲)[擬爆裂聲],grumble(咕噥,抱怨)[擬咕噥聲,嘟囔聲],mutter(輕聲低語,吞吞吐吐的說)[擬低語聲],roar(吼叫,咆哮)之所以 野獸吼聲],owl(貓頭鷹)[擬貓頭鷹叫聲]等。
例:英文譯成中文:humor(幽默),coffee(咖啡),tank(坦克),sofa(沙發)
中文譯成英文:fee(費),kowtow(叩頭,磕頭),litchi(荔枝),typhoon(臺風)
中英文讀音偶合:scan(細看),tow(拖),loot(擄掠),bandage(繃帶)
如:morose(憂傷的,郁悶的)=mo(方言,沒有)+rose(玫瑰),試想,“沒有玫瑰”的情人節怎能不“憂傷郁悶”?
Never Ever part As Lovers.(戀人永不分離)
例:許多品牌電池的外包裝上有(battery電池)字樣,許多洗發精瓶外有shampoo(洗發水)字樣,自動取款機上的ATM(Automated Teller Machine自動取款機)字樣,某些藥品包裝盒上的OTC(Over the Counter非處方藥)字樣等。
例如:按文學形式分類,我們可以歸納許多詞:biography(傳記),essay(雜文),reportage(報告文學),memoirs(回憶錄),travels(游記),prose(散文),fiction(小說總稱)等。
