“商務英語”的概念從提出到今天,起始時間已經不短了,但在國際化大趨勢下,英語學習市場風起云涌的今天,很多培訓機構又把商務英語作為了其主要的培訓項目。究竟什么是商務英語?它又適合什么人讀呢?我們僅僅從我們的角度來進行一些闡述,供大家參考。
從目前英語培訓的目的來看,既有考試培訓,又有能力培訓,商務英語界乎兩者之間。
在中國的市場更加深入地融入到國際經濟社會之中時,國內人才市場由于大批外資公司的登陸,對商務英語的人才的需求也愈來愈大。不過我們再次要說明商務英語并不是萬能的,也不是獨立存在的,許多外企需要員工具有更加專業性的英語能力--“職業英語”,比如ETS的TOEIC和TOPE,也有人把TOEIC統稱為商務英語,其實二者是有區別的,他們的含義與作用都不同。對于職業英語而言,學員參加某一項測試并得到一定的分數來證明其對英語語言的應用能力。學生需要和得到的是一個分數,證明其有能力承擔相關的工作。而事實上,比如托福,得到高分的考生并不證明其擁有了相對應的能力。而商務英語,作為一種特定的教程,強調的不僅僅是語言的水平,而是一種實際綜合素質的提高。B E C會幫助學員學會如何利用英語語言達到更高的職業目標。例如西方的管理理念、工作心理、如何與外國人打交道等等,實際的在工作中給學員以幫助。
我們不得不承認商務英語只是職業英語的一種。職業英語可以說是具有很強專業性的行業英語,比如旅游英語、法律英語、醫用英語。但他們共同點在于都有英語的基本語言基礎。商務英語的特點主要在于其教學的專業化、口語化和較強的針對性。歸根到底,實用性是商務英語最大的特點。這是其他英語培訓課程中沒有的。相應的,對于開設相應課程的培訓機構有著相當高的要求。
