人權紀錄指出，美國已成為發達國家中貧富懸殊最大的國家之一。２０１１年美國基尼系數為０．４７７，失業人數高達９００萬人；約有１６４０萬兒童生活在貧困之中，公立學校報告的無家可歸的兒童和青少年數量首次超過１００萬。

人權紀錄說，美國存在嚴重的性別歧視、種族歧視和宗教歧視。土著人面臨嚴重的種族歧視，其貧困率是全國平均水平的兩倍；美國一名導演拍攝并在網上播放的侮辱伊斯蘭教先知的電影引發了全球穆斯林的抗議浪潮。

人權紀錄說，美國嚴重侵害他國人權。２０１２年，美國在也門、阿富汗、巴基斯坦等國的軍事行動造成無辜平民大量死亡；焚經辱尸，褻瀆當地人民的宗教感情。美軍在伊拉克戰爭中使用白磷彈和貧鈾彈，使戰后伊拉克嬰兒出生缺陷率大幅上升。

人權紀錄還指出，美國未能有效參與國際人權合作。美國沒有加入或批準《經濟、社會及文化權利國際公約》、《兒童權利公約》、《消除對婦女一切形式歧視公約》、《殘疾人權利公約》等一系列聯合國核心人權公約。

華裔美國加州州參議員劉云平(Ted Lieu)12日在其個人網站上發表聲明，要求?？怂剐侣勁_時事談話節目The Five主持人鮑勃·貝克爾為在節目中發表針對華人的種族歧視和誣蔑言論一事引咎辭職。

在10日播出的The Five節目中，當談到誰對美國構成威脅時，貝克爾說：“中國人是對美國國家安全的唯一最大威脅。你知道我們做了什么嗎？像往常一樣，我們把他們帶到這里，我們教一幫中國佬，呃......中國人，如何用電腦，然后他們回到中國，非法侵入我們的計算機系統?！?/p>

早在去年，貝克爾曾經提起自己在游完泳之后變成了腫眼泡，他說：“搞得我像個東方人一樣?！?/p>

劉云平在聲明中說，我是一個“中國佬”、有著“東方人”的眼睛、移民到美國而且學了計算機專業。我還曾經是美國空軍現役部隊的一員而且現在作為后備役繼續服務這個國家。今天作為一個美國人和加州州參議員，我要求貝克爾先生辭職。他說，美國的獨特之處就在于其多元化。不幸的是，鮑勃·貝克爾不明白這其中的意義。

另據中新網報道，劉云平痛批，貝克爾的評論超過了種族主義和愚蠢，因為他的無知的看法也是危險的，恰恰是由于這一類極端的排外和種族主義的觀點，導致美國政府在二戰期間大量侵犯憲法規定的權利，強迫超過10萬美國人進入集中營。”因此，他呼吁，“由于貝克爾先生的極端種族主義和排外的看法，這些是對美國人民的威脅。所以，他現在應該辭職了！”

羅蘭學區教委陳正治(Cary Chen)分析，白人移民來到美國較早，自認為是這塊土地的主人，華人移民在100多年前就受到他們的歧視和排斥。最近20年來，華人在美國成長很快，并且在學界和職場表現優秀，對白人形成了一定的競爭壓力，使他們感到不滿。某些主流媒體主持人了解他們的情緒，利用電視節目發泄，達到

嘩眾取寵、引起共鳴、從而提高收視率的目的。為什么他們敢拿華人開涮，因為華人沒有像黑人那樣，1960年代在馬丁·路德·金的領導下發起聲勢浩大的民權運動，產生了重大的社會影響。

美國華人政治聯盟主席丁言愉指出，不久前ABC脫口秀主持人Jimmy Kimmel，透過“兒童圓桌會議”節目播出一個六歲男孩的說法，要殺死所有的中國人來解決美國對華欠債的問題，引起全美華人的抗議。如今，貝克爾作為一個資深電視節目主持人，居然說出此等誹謗中國人的言論，是非常嚴重的錯誤，應該受到嚴厲批判。不久前快艇隊老板污辱黑人的種族主義言論，被主流媒體“修理得很慘”。為什么污辱華人的言論沒有受到同樣的重視呢？因為華人沒有像黑人那樣，一貫發出強有力的聲音維權。所以，今后任何任何污辱華人的言論，只要一出現就要迎頭痛擊，他們才不敢為所欲為。
