It's our duty to save water.As we know , water is very important to man, we can't live without water.The amount of water which is suitable to drink is less and less.But some people don’t care about it.They waste a lot of water in their daily life.Even worse, they pour dirty water in to rivers.They throw rubbish into rivers , too.Many rivers and lakes are seriously polluted.Something must be done to stop the pollution.Only in this way can we live happily.If we don’t save water, the last drop of water will be a tear-drop of us.

目的為了喚起公眾的水意識，建立一種更為全面的水資源可持續利用的體制和相應的運行機制，1993年1月18日，第47屆聯合國大會根據聯合國環境與發展大會制定的《21世紀行動議程》中提出的建議，通過了第193號決議，確定自1993年起，將每年的3月22日定為“世界水日”，以推動對水資源進行綜合性統籌規劃和管理，加強水資源保護，解決日益嚴峻的缺水問題。同時，通過開展廣泛的宣傳教育活動，增強公眾對開發和保護水資源的意識。讓我們節約用水，不要讓最后一滴水成為我們的眼淚！確立背景

“世界水日”的確立，是有背景的：一切社會和經濟活動都極大地依賴淡水的供應量和質量，但人們并未普遍認識到水資源開發對提高經濟生產力、改善社會福利所起的作用；隨著人口增長和經濟發展，許多國家將陷入缺水的困境，經濟發展將受到限制；推動水的保護和持續性管理需要地方一級、全國一級、地區間、國際間的公眾意識。

背景資料：世界水日

今年３月２２日是第１9個世界水日。今年世界水日的主題是“城市水資源管理”.水是世界上最寶貴的資源之一。為了讓全世界關注水問題，１９９３年１月１８日，第４７屆聯合國大會根據聯合國環境與發展大會制訂的《２１世紀行動議程》中所提建議，通過了第１９３號決議，確定自當年起將每年的３月２２

日定為世界水日。設立世界水日的目的是為了推動世界各國對水資源進行綜合性統籌規劃和管理，加強水資源保護，并通過開展廣泛的宣傳教育活動，增強公眾對開發和保護水資源的意識。

雖然，地球表面三分之二被水覆蓋，水資源總量很大，但其中９７．５％是海水，淡水僅占２．５％，而在這有限的淡水資源中，９０％是人類難以企及的南北兩極冰蓋、冰川、冰雪。此外，還有一定比例的深層地下淡水資源很難被利用。因此，人類目前能夠利用的淡水資源相當有限，只占全球水資源總量的０．２６％。

但是，隨著人口膨脹與工農業生產規模迅速擴大，不僅全球淡水用量飛速增長，水資源污染也日益嚴重。聯合國教科文組織曾發布調查報告指出，在發展中國家，約９０％的污水和７０％的工業廢水未經處理就排入河道，這嚴重威脅到飲用水安全及生活用水的供給。據估計，全球８８％的疾病可歸咎于不安全的用水以及缺乏相關衛生設施。聯合國秘書長潘基文在今年世界水日的致辭中也指出，因飲用不衛生的水而死亡的人數超過了包括戰爭在內等一切形式暴力的死亡人數。今年聯合國將世界水日的主題定為“城市水資源管理”，意在強調水資源質量和數量都面臨威脅，并提醒國際社會，通過對水資源管理過程中日益增多的水質量挑戰，提高水對維持健康生態系統和人類福祉重要性的認識。
