轉向低碳經濟、低碳生活方式的重要途徑之一，是戒除以高耗能源為代價的“便利消費”嗜好。“便利”是現代商業營銷和消費生活中流行的價值觀。不少便利消費方式在人們不經意中浪費著巨大的能源。比如，據制冷技術專家估算，超市電耗70%用于冷柜，而敞開式冷柜電耗比玻璃門冰柜高出20%。由此推算，一家中型超市敞開式冷柜一年多耗約4。8萬度電，相當于多耗約19噸標煤，多排放約48噸二氧化碳，多耗約19萬升凈水。上海約有大中型超市近800家，超市便利店6000家。如果大中型超市普遍采用玻璃門冰柜，顧客購物時只需舉手之勞，一年可節電約 4521萬度，相當于節省約1。8萬噸標煤，減排約4。5萬噸二氧化碳。

在中國，年人均CO2排放量2.7噸，但一個城市白領即便只有40平居住面積，開1.6L車上下班，一年乘飛機12次，碳排放量也會在2611噸。由此看來，節能減排勢在必行。

生活中，你有沒有注意到一個詞叫“低碳”呢？現在人們都講究要“低碳生活”，你有沒有做到呢？地球是我們賴以生存的地方，我們不能在地球上搞破壞，而是要報答地球，不是只破壞，不保護地球。

“低碳生活”就是指生活作息時所耗用的能量要盡力減少，從而減低碳，特別是二氧化碳的排放量，從而減少對大氣的污染，減緩生態惡化，主要是從節電節氣和回收三個環節來改變生活細節，在你平時的生活中，就可以低碳，比如少看電養成低碳生活的習慣。
