第二個故事是我的一個朋友講的：一個十來歲的男孩，放學經過菜市場時，沒頭沒腦地搶了肉販一塊肉就跑。健壯的肉販沒費一點力氣就抓住了男孩，奪回肉，搶過書包，扔下一句話：“叫家里大人來。”天黑后，男孩跟在母親身后來了。母親一見肉販就不停地說對不起。母親的淚掉下來。她艱難地說：“實在是我們沒把孩子教好……可是他已經大半年沒吃過肉了。他以前不是壞孩子，就原諒他這一次吧！”肉販豎著的眉頭一下子就掉了下來。他拿起刀，割下一大塊肉，然后彎腰從案板下拎出書包，雙手遞給悲傷的母親。母親木然地接過，說：“謝謝！”牽著孩子的手，蹣跚地走了。回到家里，母親用這塊肉做了頓香噴噴的晚餐，久病的父親還飲了半杯酒，后來，他們全家攜手來到樓頂，縱身一躍……

利用，僅一方被一方利用實屬少見，更多見于互相利用。這就顯得公平，你利用我，我也利用你，互通有無，取長補短，誰也不吃虧。“利用”一詞，還容易使人們想到利用什么工具，或者利用什么廢料，仿佛某人成了某人的工具或廢料，這其實是理解上的歧義。為什么不能把利用理解為“珍惜”、“莫錯良機”？利用人比起利用東西、工具總是來得先進。比如你很有錢，與其自己購物跑菜場，不如雇個人給你跑腿打雜來得輕松、高效。
