ladies and gentlemen , good afternoon! i’m very glad to stand here and give you a short speech. today my topic is “youth”. i hope you will like it , and found the importance in your youth so that more cherish it.

first i want to ask you some questions:

1、do you know what is youth?

2、how do you master your youth?

youth

youth is not a time of life, it is a state of mind ; it is not rosy cheeks , red lips and supple knees, it is a matter of the emotions : it is the freshness ; it is the freshness of the deep springs of life .

youth means a temperamental predominance of courage over timidity of the appetite , for adventure over the love of ease. this often exists in a man of 60 more than a boy of 20 . nobody grows old merely by a number of years . we grow old by deserting our ideals.

years wrinkle the skin , but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul . worry , fear , self –distrust bows the heart and turns the spirit back to dust .

whether 60 of 16 , there is in every human being ‘s heart the lure of wonders, the unfailing childlike appetite of what’s next and the joy of the game of living . in the center of your heart and my heart there’s a wireless station : so long as it receives messages of beauty , hope ,cheer, courage and power from men and from the infinite, so long as you are young .

when the aerials are down , and your spirit is covered with snows of cynicism and the ice of pessimism, then you are grown old ,even at 20 , but as long as your aerials are up ,to catch waves of optimism , there is hope you may die young at 80.

今年暑假，我參加了由教體局組織的這次英語培訓活動，我很榮幸的獲得了這次寶貴的提升專業素質和業務素質的機會，非常感謝領導給予我這次寶貴的學習機會，使我在英語水平、教學思想方面受益匪淺。

此次培訓是由來自加拿大外教授課，實行小班教學。在培訓期間，每天不同的主題，針對我們英語教學方法的介紹和指導，讓我們英語教師在培訓中，掌握其實際應用技巧。Gloria給我們營造一個純英語的學習環境，培養我們的英文慣性思維能力，我們在課堂上只講英語，每天都在一個全英文的環境中實踐與提高，這樣大腦每天不斷在接受英語的沖擊，再加上教師的耐心的指導，培養在與真正的外國人自然交流的過程中形成的語言思維習慣。

還有，在外教課堂上，外教的肢體語言和面目表情是值得我們學習的，我們上了課之后，就感覺Gloria的課上得很活，她在課堂上時而唱歌，我們就隨之唱起來；她在課堂上時而跳舞，我們也隨之舞起來，這絲毫都沒有浪費我們的學習時間，而且在唱歌和跳舞中進行了英語交流，Gloria天天給我們的話題都是新鮮的，讓我們天天都有所期盼。這讓我們訓練英語口語之余還學到了好多實用的教學方法。在培訓的課堂上是沒有一句中文的，所有學員為了能聽懂外教的話并能與之交流，學習非?？炭?，遇到生詞或查字典；或學員之間相互討論，共同思考；或比劃著向外教請教。每天寫的journal，讓我們的英語書寫也得到了飛速的提高。

其實，我們從Gloria那里不僅是鍛煉了英語口語與書寫，增長了西方文化常識，我們還學到了本國英語教師有待提高的東西，包括教法，授課方式，以及評價學生等等，都是讓我們大開眼界的，都是值得我們學習的。還有，這次培訓給我印象最深的'是外教們身上所具有的那股認真勁，它也可以被說成是“充滿活力”，也可以看作是“充滿熱情”，總之和她在一起覺得自己全身充滿陽光氣，對生活充滿希望。Gloria給我們上課，每一節課她都認真教學，絲毫看不出一絲疲憊、應付之意，也因此讓我們更加感動，從而學習起來更加起勁、認真。我想我們每位教師在日常的教學中也應該是這樣的，在進教室之前，無論你的身體多么疲憊，無論你的心情多么糟糕，你都要重新調整，讓自己精神抖擻、高高興興的邁進課堂，去和學生共度40分鐘的美好時光，讓他們在你的課堂上不僅能學到英語知識，更能學習到對生活的熱愛。

總之，通過這次培訓，我學到了很多方面的東西，我想我要把這次在培訓中學到的知識帶回到我的課堂教學中去，讓我的學生也能體會到學習英語的樂趣。我相信，這些活動一定能提高學生學習英語的興趣。在以后的教學中我會嘗試著進行應用并創新，做一名合格而優秀的英語教師。

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls:

I am Chinese. I am proud of being a Chinese with five thousand years of civilization behind. I've learned about the four great inventions made by our forefathers. I've learned about the Great Wall and the Yangtze River. I've learned about Zhang Heng(張衡)and I've learned about Zheng He(鄭和)．Who says the Yellow River Civilization has vanished(消失)？I know that my ancestors have made miracles(奇跡)on this fertile land and we're still making miracles.

Who can ignore the fact that we have established ourselves as a great state in the world, that we have devised our own nuclear weapons, that we have successfully sent our satellites into space, and that our GNP ranks No. 7 in the world? We have experienced the plunders (掠奪) by other nations, and we have experienced the war. Yet, based on such ruins, there still stands our nation----China, unyielding and unconquerable!

I once came across an American tourist. She said, “China has a history of five thousand years, but the US only has a history of 200 years. Five thousand years ago, China took the lead in the world, and now it is the US that is leading.”My heart was deeply touched by these words. It is true that we're still a developing nation, but it doesn't mean that we can despise (鄙視) ourselves. We have such a long-standing history, we have such abundant resources, we have such intelligent and diligent people, and we have enough to be proud of. We have reasons to say proudly：we are sure to take the lead in the world in the future again, for our problems are big, but our ambition (雄心) is even bigger, our challenges (挑戰) are great, but our will is even greater.

I am Chinese. I have inherited (繼承) black hair and black eyes. I have inherited the virtues of my ancestors. I have also taken over responsibility. I am sure, that wherever I go, whatever I do, I shall never forget that I am Chinese!

Good morning, ladies and gentlemen, I’m very glad to make a speech here. Today my topic is “I love you, China.”Since the day I was born, I began to have a proud name—Chinese. Since the day I began to talk, the most beautiful sentence I’ve ever learnt has been “I love you, China!”I love you, China, and I’m so proud of being a Chinese. I’m proud that I’ve got the beautiful yellow skin, black eyes and black hair. I’m also proud that I speak the most beautiful language in the world—Chinese.

I love you, China, for I can feel the deep love you give me every day, every minute. Last year, I got an opportunity to visit the United States of America. During my staying there, my father’s boss once invited my family to dinner. While at table, he looked at me and asked: “Little boy, how long have you been in America?” “About a month,” I answered, “How lucky you are!” he said, “If you were living in China, how could you learn such perfect English?” I smiled and told him proudly that all the students in China are able to learn English at school. I saw his surprised eyes and said to myself, “I’m proud of you, China. For you are offering us the best education.”

When I came back from the USA, my friends asked me: “How do you feel about your staying there?”“Wonderful” I said. “Then why do you come back?” Hearing this, I told them there were lots of beautiful countries in the world, but none of them can compare with our own country—China. How true the saying is: “There’s no place like home!”

I love you, China. As a young student, all we should do is to study hard and devote ourselves whole-heartedly in the future, to the great cause of building you into an even stronger and greater country in the world. I love you, my dear motherland! I love you, China!

if kindness is added to a strange you will have a friend; but if hostility is added, you will have an enemy. if love is added to a pile of red bricks you will have a home, but if hatred is add to those bricks , you will have an concentration camp.

so my dear friends, never complain that life is boring and the world is disappointing. if don’t like the taste of your life, change the ingredients.

three year ago, i weighed more than 100 hundred kilograms which caused significant embarrassment and frustration in my life. like always failing my p.e examinations, like always being laughed at by girls, like being terrified to speak in public. it was my grandmother’s encouragement that revived from my passive attitude to become confident in myself. she said “ my dear, if you can’t change you figure, why not treat it as your own style. so i began to cautiously employ the new way of thinking. by choosing to change my outlook on life, i developed the confidence to make a difference and finally i found a totally new world.

so my dear friend, if faith, hope, love, endurance are added to your life, you will find the confidence to conquer your limitation and embrace new challenges. and hopefully with my speech included, you will have a fantastic speech contest.

everyone has a dream. i often ask myself. when i was a little boy, i wanted to be a soldier with a gun so that i could defend our i am a young boy with a new dream——to be a doctor. i want to be a famous doctor, helping the sick and saving their lives.

i also saw some people who were suffering and dying of ill-nesses. i made up my mind to become a doctor, so that i can help the sick people and cure them of their diseases. china is a develop-ing country. she needs good medicine and good doctors, especially in the countryside and lonely villages.

i want to try my best to help the poor sick people of our country. i want to let them have an opportunity to receive excel-lent treatments for their illnesses without having to pay much or any money.

i'll do every bit to cure the incurable. i hope to see a world where there is no cancer, no aids, no fatal diseases. i'm confident that through the joint efforts of you and me, man will put an end to his bodily sufferings and this dream of mine will one day be brought into reality.

young!fortunately, i am young now. just due to it, i know that nothing is impossible.i firmly believe that nothing can stand in my way. if i can't realize my dream,it result from that i haven't work harder enough and i won't find other excuses. if no people believe you, you can make it to prove that you are right. if you think the god haven't blessed you and there is no truth here, you can become the god and create the truth.

”my breath swallows the sky and make the yellow river overflow, my sword is famous in kyushu and it can collapse the five sacred mountains.“ at some time in the past i also had am bitious words and i had some achievements. each achievement results from my hard work. i always believe that ”if you want to have more achievements than others, you must work harder." in some extent, the dream is the hope. if you can insist on doing something, the victory will come.

hold fast to dreams, for if dreams die, life is a broken-winged bird that cannot fly. hold fast to dreams, for when dreams go, life is a barren field frozen with snow. so my dear friends, think of your old and maybe dead dreams. whatever it is, pick it up and make it alive from today. let's--- move ----out!
