桂林是中國乃至世界的著名旅游風景名城，桂林的奇山秀水，如詩如夢的美麗景色，每年吸引著上千萬的海內外游客到桂林來觀光旅游。桂林位于廣西壯族自治區的東北部，全市的人口約四百八十萬，其中城區的人口六十萬。桂林的總面積有二點七八萬平方公里，其中城區的面積有五百六十五平方公里。全市轄疊彩，秀峰，象山，七星，雁山五個區，冬季的平均氣溫為八度，夏季的平均氣溫為二十八度，是一個非常適合于旅游的地方。

首先我們來到了桂林的蝴蝶泉，蝴蝶泉位于桂林陽朔月亮山風景區“十里畫廊”的精華旅游地段，源于景區內一巖洞中有一酷似蝴蝶的鐘乳石而得名。是中國目前最大的活蝴蝶觀賞園，景區里有上千種數萬只蝴蝶與人和諧相處，親切、自然，是一個生態旅游風景點；且集奇山、秀水、幽洞、田園風光為一體，有“不到蝶山頂，不知陽朔景”之美譽，是陽朔山水的典型代表。蝴蝶泉園區內主要可觀景點有：蝶洞、蝶山瀑布、蝶橋、蝶山勝景、蝶緣、蜂緣、蝴蝶館等。在蝴蝶泉，除可觀賞到陽朔田園風光外，、欣賞訓蜂絕技、免費品嘗野生蜂蜜。

桂林西山公園導游詞

西山曾為古代佛教勝地。唐宋時，這里殿宇輝煌，星羅棋布。唐有著名的西慶林寺，亦名延齡寺、西峰寺;宋有資慶寺、千山觀。一時高僧名士、善男信女，云游于此，絡繹不絕。千山、立魚峰、觀音峰、龍頭石林一帶有摩崖造像兩百余尊，多為唐代作品。近年綠化石山，遍植花果松柏，覆蓋面積達39%。唐莫休符《桂林風土記》說的“峰巒牙張，云木交映，為一府勝游之所”，今天才真正大放異彩。

觀音峰在西山公園西，海撥328米，相對高度178米，高度僅次于西峰。這里是摩崖造像的寶庫，沿石磴可攀峰頂，道側有佛像數十龕，百余尊、高者2米，小者數十厘米。半山脊有著名的毗盧舍那佛，為唐調露元年(679)李實所造。佛龕為天然石窟，高3.8米，寬2.6米;像高1.20米，胸寬0.79米，盤坐蓮臺上;臺高0.52米。佛旁趺坐高0.9米蓮 花菩薩左右各一。下有“造像記”。不遠處有西峰亭。西峰是佛教文物勝地，也是觀賞城西山水田疇、樓宇、云霞的好地方。

西峰在西山公園西，與觀音、千山、立魚為連座峰林、位于3峰西部，海撥357米，相對高度107米，東西長1600米，南北寬97米，山體面積82.25公頃，拾磴可達峰前之龍頭石林。遠望西峰，挺撥高聳，雄踞諸峰之土，是西山的最高峰。每近黃昏，夕陽遍灑，金光萬道，是為膾炙人口的桂林八景之“西峰夕照”。西峰亭 在立魚峰山腰，是“西峰夕照”的觀賞佳處，因稱西峰亭。原為木結構，建于1958年，后廢，現于舊址西一平臺上，新建鋼筋混凝上結構，單檐、攢尖頂、朱柱、綠瓦的八角亭，高10米，長寬各8.3米，面積71平方米。周有石欄，上有著名書畫家黃苗子題額，下有楹聯，“環觀千峰景;小坐一亭風”，誘人流連，極目四野，境幽林靜，開拓塊壘，頤和情性。

千山位于西山公園西峰東南。海撥357米，相對高度207米。唐貞觀年間(627～649)建有千山觀，宋時重建，廣西經略安撫使張孝祥書、靜江府知識李曾伯刻“千山觀”3個大字于觀側，均久廢，唯遺址尚依稀可辨。千山林木豐茂，景色宜人。宋詩人方孝孺為廣西提點刑獄時，建“碧桂山林”、并刻4字于石，擬伴其母終老于此。現有石磴至峰頂，是一條曲折清幽的風景道。

千山觀在西山公園的千山之上，唐貞觀間建，宋重建。地高勢雄，視野寬闊，為盛游之地。宋張孝祥《千山觀記》云：“乾道丙戌(1166)歷陽張某，因超然亭故基作千山觀，高爽閎達，放目千里，晦明風雨，各有態度。觀成而去，乃書記其極。”在千山登山道旁，有李曾伯刻、張孝祥榜書“千山觀”于石壁上。現久廢，遺址當在“千山觀”摩崖處。

桂林市地處廣西壯族自治區東北部，位于北緯24°15′-26°23′、東經109°36′-111°29′之間，扼湘桂走廊南端。總面積2.78萬平方公里，總人口484.73萬人，其中城區面積565平方公里，人口66.83萬人。境內聚居壯、瑤、苗、侗、回等36個少數民族，人口72萬余人。屬亞熱帶季風氣候，終年氣候溫和、熱量豐富、雨量充沛，年平均氣候16.4-19.9℃，年降雨量1400-2000mm。自然條件優越，物產豐富，盛產水稻、甘蔗、柑桔、馬蹄、花生、油菜，是廣西糧食及水果的主產基地之一；林業資源豐富，是廣西主要林區之一，森林覆蓋率達67%；植物資源有高等植物1000多種，包括銀杉、銀杏等名貴樹種，自然植被以馬尾松為主，市區以桂花樹為主，桂花是桂林市的市花。全市森林面積121·56萬公頃，森林儲蓄量3774·42萬立方米，每年可提供木材40余萬立方米、毛竹1600多萬根；動物資源種類繁多，有1593種，隸屬60目295科。陸棲脊椎動物有400多種，其中有云豹、黃腹角稚、穿山甲、果子貍等；水生物有144種，有珍貴的娃娃魚、鰻鱺等；礦產資源的礦種主要有赤鐵礦、黃鐵礦、褐鐵礦、鉛、鋅、錫、鎢、鋁、鈮、鉭、錳、滑石、重晶石、螢石、花崗石、石灰石、大理石等40多種，其中探明有一定儲量的有30多種，在廣西位于全國前列的36種礦產中，桂林占17種，有錫、鎢、鉛、鋅、金、銅、鋁、錳、鐵礦、滑石、重晶石等；境內河流密布，有湘江、資江、漓江、洛清河、潯江5條河流，年經流量263.4億立方米，水能總蘊藏量為272萬千瓦，其中可開發量為100萬千瓦。已建成亞洲第一座超千米高水頭電站--全州天湖水電站。

桂林歷史悠久，根據市區寶積巖和甑皮巖洞穴發現的遺物考證，距今約三萬年，桂林就有人類祖先活動。從漢元鼎六年（前111）設始安縣起，桂林歷代為縣、郡、州、府治所；宋代以后為廣西政治、文化中心；抗日戰爭時期成為人國著名的抗戰文化城；1940年始設桂林市，歷史上長期為廣西省會；1949年11月22日桂林解放，為廣西省轄市；1958年改稱廣西壯族自治區桂林市；1998年9月8日經國務院批準，桂林市和桂林地區合并，組建新的桂林市。轄秀峰、疊彩、象山、七星、雁山5個城區和臨桂、陽朔、靈川、荔浦、永福、全州、興安、灌陽、資源、平樂、龍勝、恭城12縣。

桂林旅游資源十分豐富。桂林是世界著名的風景游覽城市和歷史文化名城，自古有山水甲天下的美譽，屬世界上發育最完美的巖溶（喀斯特）地貌，加上宜人的氣候等自然條件，形成了唯桂林獨有的秀美的桂林山水。桂林山水集“山青、水秀、洞奇、石美”之四絕，匯“名園、古跡、煙雨、光影、植物、田園、村鎮”之美景，形成“景在城中，城在景中、城景交融、相映成趣”的鮮明特色。以解放橋、“兩江四湖”工程、正陽路步行街、中心廣場、中心劇場、中山路、會展中心、陽朔西街改造等為代表的重點工程、桂林夜景也成為新的旅游焦點。改造后的桂林城市，風格融古鑄今，兼收并蓄，在秀美的山光水色之間，把山水樹木等自然環境和名勝古跡、歷史文化傳統有機融入城市布局，國際旅游名城的格局逐步形成。
