尊敬的各位團(tuán)長、各位運(yùn)動(dòng)員、各位嘉賓、各位朋友：

Heads of Delegations, Athletes, Distinguished Guests, Ladies and Gentlemen，我們今天在這里聚會(huì)，舉行莊重的升旗儀式，標(biāo)志參加第五屆東亞運(yùn)動(dòng)會(huì)的各個(gè)代表團(tuán)都已蒞臨。我謹(jǐn)代表香港特別行政區(qū)政府，對(duì)大家表示最熱烈的歡迎。

We gather here to witness the solemn raising of the flags of all participating teams at the 5th East Asian Games.On behalf of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, I extend the warmest welcome to all of you to Hong Kong.四年前，我們就在這奧林匹克廣場(chǎng)舉行典禮，從友鄰城市澳門接過東亞運(yùn)動(dòng)會(huì)的旗幟。今日，第五屆東亞運(yùn)開幕式舉行的前夕，各位參賽國家和地區(qū)的代表在這里聚首，充分象征了區(qū)內(nèi)運(yùn)動(dòng)員與人民的友誼和團(tuán)結(jié)。

It was here in this Olympic Square of Hong Kong Park, four years ago, when Hong Kong received the East Asian Games flag from Macau.Today, the presence of you here, representing all participating countries and regions, not only heralds the opening of the 5th EAG tomorrow, but also signifies the friendship and solidarity of our athletes as well as peoples in the region.東亞運(yùn)既讓我們通過競(jìng)技追求卓越，亦促進(jìn)彼此在體育運(yùn)動(dòng)，以至其他方面，尤其是在文化和生活方式的相互了解。我們并舉辦多項(xiàng)文化和交流活動(dòng)，讓香港市民和旅客都有機(jī)會(huì)參與其盛。

The East Asian Games offer an opportunity for us not only to compete for excellence, but also to learn from each other, in sports development as well as in other fields, not least in culture and ways of life.We have also organised a number of cultural events and exchanges during the EAG so that local people and visitors can make the most of this joyous occasion.我希望藉此機(jī)會(huì)向第五屆東亞運(yùn)動(dòng)會(huì)籌備委員會(huì)主席霍震霆先生致謝。霍先生自申辦東亞運(yùn)以來，一直給予我們極大支持，令籌備工作得以暢順進(jìn)行。

Distinguished Guests, Ladies and Gentlemen,大家好！香港2009東亞運(yùn)動(dòng)會(huì)舉行以來，我們一直沉浸于熾熱的體育競(jìng)賽氣氛之中。現(xiàn)在，全部比賽已經(jīng)完成，留下了我們共同創(chuàng)造的傳奇！第五屆東亞運(yùn)即將圓滿結(jié)束，我謹(jǐn)代表香港特別行政區(qū)政府熱烈歡迎各位出席今晚的閉幕式，我更要衷心感謝各代表團(tuán)團(tuán)長、運(yùn)動(dòng)員、隨團(tuán)人員、贊助商、義工以及不同崗位的所有工作人員的積極參與和支持。多謝大家！

Since the commencement of the Games, friends across boundaries have come together to witness the legendary moments of the Games.All our athletes have competed fairly and done their best, displaying strong determination, great perseverance and true sportsmanship.You have created the proudest moment of the Games and shown us the unifying power of sport by overriding national, political, religious and language barriers.A tremendous spirit of friendship has also been clearly evident throughout the Games.The exemplary participation of you all has promoted the

The Fifth EAG is the first international multi-sports event ever held in Hong Kong.Without the concerted efforts of all parties involved, our dreams of making the Games a success could not have been realised.Together, we have opened a new chapter of the sporting history of Hong Kong as well as showcased to the world our appeal as an events capital.各位，東亞運(yùn)的圣火即將熄滅，此刻，讓我們誠摯祝愿，東亞友誼團(tuán)結(jié)和公平競(jìng)技的精神將薪火持續(xù)，永放光芒。

Dear friends, at this moment when the flame is about to be extinguished, let us make a sincere wish.May the spirit of the Games, of friendship and sportsmanship, live on in our hearts.我們期盼四年后在天津再相聚，展現(xiàn)更卓越的體育風(fēng)采。

The time has come for us to say goodbye to the Fifth East Asian Games.I call upon the athletes from the Region to meet again in Tianjin, China, in four years time, where once again, you will inspire and excite the world with your sporting excellence.多謝各位。

在慶祝香港回歸祖國23周年系列活動(dòng)啟動(dòng)禮上致辭

尊敬的董建華副主席、梁振英副主席，林鄭月娥行政長官、譚錦球主席，各位嘉賓、各位朋友：大家上午好！

今天，是香港回歸祖國23周年紀(jì)念日，也是香港國安法正式刊憲后的首個(gè)整天。香港社會(huì)各界舉辦“慶香港回歸、賀國安立法”系列活動(dòng)，表達(dá)了歡慶喜悅之情，也具有非同尋常的宣示性、標(biāo)志性意義。

今天慶祝香港回歸，我們?yōu)?3年來香港“一國兩制”的成功實(shí)踐而感到自豪。從回歸那天起，香港結(jié)束了自己150多年的屈辱歷史，走上了與祖國內(nèi)地共同發(fā)展、永不分離的寬廣道路。回歸前，香港長期處于英國殖民統(tǒng)治下，政治上香港同胞只能做“二等公民”，在根本上沒有民主權(quán)利可言；經(jīng)濟(jì)上英國從香港攫取大量利益，公開資料顯示，從1950年到1997年，僅駐港英軍軍費(fèi)一項(xiàng)，香港就負(fù)擔(dān)了221億港元。回歸后，政治上香港同胞成為特別行政區(qū)的主人翁，享有比歷史上任何時(shí)候都更廣泛的民主權(quán)利和自由；經(jīng)濟(jì)上中央政府不僅沒有向特區(qū)征稅，沒有讓特區(qū)負(fù)擔(dān)一分錢駐軍費(fèi)用，而且還推出一系列惠港政策，支持香港發(fā)展，幫助香港成功抵御兩次國際金融危機(jī)的重大沖擊。無論當(dāng)年抗擊“非典”，還是這次阻擊“新冠”，祖國內(nèi)地始終盡力保障著香港急需的醫(yī)療和生活物資供應(yīng)。事實(shí)證明，中央真誠為香港好，為香港同胞好，對(duì)香港整體利益和香港同胞根本福祉抱有最大關(guān)切。

今天慶祝香港回歸，我們?yōu)橛袊卜ㄊ刈o(hù)香港“一國兩制”而備受鼓舞。“一國兩制”體現(xiàn)了中國共產(chǎn)黨人的政治智慧和博大胸懷，是中華民族對(duì)世界文明的獨(dú)特貢獻(xiàn)。作為一項(xiàng)前無古人的開創(chuàng)性事業(yè)，也需要在實(shí)踐中不斷豐富和發(fā)展。

去年發(fā)生的修例**，暴露出香港在維護(hù)國家安全上存在巨大風(fēng)險(xiǎn)，使香港“一國兩制”遭遇前所未有的嚴(yán)峻挑戰(zhàn)。鑒此，全國人大常委會(huì)依據(jù)憲法和基本法制定香港國安法，是對(duì)“一國兩制”制度體系的有力加固和完善。對(duì)于那些危害國家安全的極少數(shù)人來說，這部法律是高懸的利劍；對(duì)于絕大多數(shù)香港居民包括在港外國人來說，這部法律是保障其權(quán)利自由和安寧生活的“守護(hù)神”。隨著時(shí)間的推移，我們會(huì)越來越清楚地看到，香港國安法的公布，是香港由亂到治的重大轉(zhuǎn)折點(diǎn)，是香港“一國兩制”實(shí)踐的重要里程碑。

今天慶祝香港回歸，公文中心網(wǎng)整理，我們?yōu)閺V大香港同胞堅(jiān)守“一國兩制”初心而充滿感動(dòng)。香港國安法得到了包括香港市民在內(nèi)的全國人民的支持和擁護(hù)。這段日子里，公文中心網(wǎng)整理，各界人士通過媒體發(fā)聲、街站簽名、網(wǎng)絡(luò)留言、“快閃”唱國歌等方式，匯聚“撐國安立法，保一國兩制”的最強(qiáng)音。“撐立法”簽名行動(dòng)，短短8天時(shí)間就收到了292萬個(gè)簽名。這充分證明，香港國安立法是民心所向、眾望所歸；堅(jiān)持“一國兩制”是香港社會(huì)的最大公約數(shù)，是廣大香港市民的共同心愿。香港國安法落地實(shí)施，國家安全、社會(huì)安定、港人安寧，香港這個(gè)家一定能走出困境、重新出發(fā)、贏得未來。

各位嘉賓、各位朋友！

青山遮不住，畢竟東流去。我們前進(jìn)的道路上難免會(huì)遇到各種風(fēng)險(xiǎn)挑戰(zhàn)，但歷史車輪滾滾向前，任何勢(shì)力都阻擋不了中華民族偉大復(fù)興的歷史大勢(shì)，任何困難也阻擋不了“一國兩制”偉大事業(yè)的前進(jìn)步伐。讓我們祝福祖國，祝福香港！

Following is a speech by the Chief Executive, Mr Donald Tsang, at the launching ceremony of the Hong Kong 2009 East Asian Games 100-day Countdown-cum-Torch Relay held at the Kowloon Park Piazza this afternoon(August 29, 2009):

各位嘉賓、各位朋友：

Distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen,相信大家和我一樣，對(duì)于去年香港參與奧運(yùn)圣火傳遞，以及協(xié)辦奧運(yùn)馬術(shù)項(xiàng)目時(shí)的盛況，仍然記憶猶新。今年，我們?cè)俳釉賱?lì)，主辦另一項(xiàng)大型體壇盛事──「香港2009東亞運(yùn)動(dòng)會(huì)」。適逢今年是中華人民共和國建國六十周年，一息間展開的火炬接力，將具有雙重意義，為慶祝國慶和迎接?xùn)|亞運(yùn)揭開序幕。

This year marks the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China – a significant milestone for our nation.Adding to the festivities, Hong Kong will host the 2009 East Asian Games in December.That makes today's Torch Relay doubly significant – it is both a celebratory event for the National Anniversary and a prelude to the Games.過去幾十年，國家發(fā)展取得顯著成就。去年北京成功主辦奧運(yùn)，便是其中一個(gè)有力證明，香港亦有幸參與其中。今年十二月，香港特區(qū)將首次以東道主身份，主辦東亞運(yùn)這項(xiàng)國際大型綜合運(yùn)動(dòng)會(huì)。這將是歷來最大規(guī)模的東亞運(yùn)動(dòng)會(huì)，預(yù)計(jì)有近3,000名來自東亞9個(gè)地區(qū)及國家的體壇精英，競(jìng)逐22個(gè)運(yùn)動(dòng)項(xiàng)目、共262項(xiàng)賽事的金牌。

Over the past sixty years, our nation has made remarkable strides in many areas including the economy, science, culture and sports.The Beijing Olympics last year – with Hong Kong as a co-host city – was a resounding success.Hong Kong will rise to the challenge again by hosting the largest ever EAG.Close to 3 000 athletes from nine countries and territories will compete for 262 gold medals across 22 sports.雖然賽事的規(guī)模不能與北京奧運(yùn)相比，但我相信過程一定會(huì)同樣精采。我希望全港市民把握這個(gè)機(jī)會(huì)，向來港訪客展示我們好客之道；特別是年青人，我鼓勵(lì)你們盡情投入這項(xiàng)國際盛事，促進(jìn)香港與東亞地區(qū)的體育和文化交流。
