Good morning, everybody!

Let's start with the very simple question: Do you know the tree coverage rate of Beijing? Well, the recent numerical value is 49.9%.It sounds much, but is there simply one tree that was planted by you? If there is, let's say you're really great.But if not believe me you are not alone cuz it's rather difficult for us students to get involved in such activities.Well, I think now we all realize that all that we've done for the green is just about claiming or declaring, painting or advertising.However what I'm fully convinced is that someday ten years ago you must have stepped onto the grassland in the early spring and I'm sure that some of you(especially girls)must have unwittingly picked up dandelions by the roadside and gently blew their parachute like seeds into the fragrant breeze.By the time our lives can be counted by decades, what have we done for our mother nature?

Before you get lost in speculation, please follow me and try considering some other questions: put up your hands if you have watched the Olympic Games?(Of course you have or else you wouldn't be sitting here)nonetheless how many of you had the experience of sitting in front of the television waiting for the Games of the unable people? I think now we can draw the conclusion that we concern the Olympic games mostly for entertainment.Have you found out that the linkage between the Olympic Games and the green environment is that we almost do nothing really helpful to either of them!What now I want to tell you is very realistic I wrote them from the core of my heart so please believe me they are my true feelings.Last summer when I had just finished the high school entrance examination, I came up with the idea of not using air conditioners in that coming summer.Then I had an extraordinarily hard time controlling myself and had suffered from having more than one air conditioners in sight yet cannot make use of them.Every time I caught sight of them I told myself that I was doing something quite valuable.Finally autumn came and to my surprise I had made it!You know how excited I was? I really felt very proud of myself.Sounds ridiculous right? However, will all of you here join me to do this next year, will you? I hope so.Because I feel deeply upset every time when I see my parents waste a lot of water and I don't know why I'm extremely concerned about the protection of environment and the reservation of natural resources since I was young.My mother was against me on whether to mention her in my speech nevertheless I consider it very common among you and maybe your parents.In the past I didn't dare to ask others to turn off the faucet while not using them because I was afraid of being described as stingy, am I? Stinginess is to resources what responsibility is to the society.It's about time we aroused the social awareness of environment protection.Doesn't the realization of our green dream and Olympic dream both start from that?

Because all the beautiful words seem to be so pale and feeble compared with practical actions and I don't like to say sentences like “start right from myself” so let's change it to a more romantic one: the mission of turning the green within our heart and soul into the luxuriantly green scenery out of the window is bound to cross the boundaries between nations, continents and racial groups, from Olympia to the Great Wall and finally fall on our shoulders by the year 2008.My favorite description of the Olympic games is the celebration of mankind.But now I want to propose a small change, which is to be: Olympics of mankind, celebration of green nature.人類奧運，綠色慶典

二 focus on some important words.=================北京著手申辦2008年北京奧運會開始，2008年北京奧運會這個話題就一直備受關注。目前關注的焦點已從申辦之初許下的諾言轉移到如何真正履行諾言。在我看來，要跨越諾言與現(xiàn)實之間的鴻溝，北京還有很長一段路要走。

The 2008 Olympic Game has been the most discussed and anticipated event through out Beijing ever since Beijing bid for it years ago.Yet the focus has shifted from making a promise to making good a promise after Beijing’s successful bid.In my opinion, to bridge the gap between a promise and reality, Beijing still has a long way to go.Here are some of my ideas on how to fill that gap.首先，在所有亟待解決的問題中，跨越英語口語這一難關至關重要。學會一門語言的關鍵在于堅持不懈。我們到能不能做到讓大多數(shù)國人在2008年到來之前都學會說英語？這一問題需要我們不斷努力和嘗試。

First, the speaking of English is far most important than all other difficulties.Learning a language takes a long time and a lot of heart ship, it’s not easy.So can we get most of Chinese to speak English before 2008? It needs us to try and practice very hard.其次，交通擁擠一直是困擾北京的老大難問題。一輛接一輛車連在一起構成的汽車長龍加之它們不斷排放到空氣中的黑煙這種情景早就給我們留下了深刻的印象。我相信沒有一個國人愿意把北京的這一面暴露給來自世界各地的參賽隊員和新聞記者，因為它會嚴重損壞北京的形象和聲譽。所以，我們必須致力于建設綠色奧運這一目標。

Second, traffic jams have been an age-old headache in Beijing, the scenes of long queues of vehicles worming their way inch by inch while discharging dark fumes(n.煙氣)into the air had given all of us a really bad impression, and I know that none of us wish to show off that side of Beijing to athletes and journalists over the world, it would blemish(n.瑕疵)the city’s image and leave a bad reputation(n.壞名聲).So we have to work real hard on Green Olympics.還有，為了各項工作的順利實施，一個高瞻遠矚的整體城市規(guī)劃必不可少。如果時間允許，重新設計和調整北京的建筑風格會為構建北京的城市特色創(chuàng)造環(huán)境。把東方的精致和西方的宏偉結合在一起一定會在眾多建筑風格中獨樹一幟。要做到以上幾點，北京應該聽取得來自一流建筑師的建議并作出整體規(guī)劃。

Thirdly, to add enchantment(n.魅力)to convenience, an over-all city planning is indispensable.（adj.不可缺少的）

If time permits, a redesign of city layout and adjustment of architectural style(建筑風格)would provide a better environment for fostering the characteristics, blending（n.混合）oriental elegance with international grandeur, will tower a lot among surrounding architectures.To achieve such effects, Beijing shall solicit opinions from first-rate architects and make an overall plan.盡管如此，要實現(xiàn)全世界對北京的期盼，北京還有許許多多工作要做。但我們有信心在2008年到來之前把北京建設成為一個全新的城市。巨大的變化每天都在這個城市發(fā)生，相信在不遠的將來，北京將會成為全世界關注的焦點。世界相信北京，這也是北京申奧成功的原因。我們一定會抓住這次機遇并為之全力以赴。今天，我們還沒有做好準備，但在2008年到來之前我們一定會準備好！

Even though, Beijing still has a lot to do to reach the level that the world expects, but we have the confidence to make Beijing a brand new city by the year 2008.Huge changes are taking places, and not far in the future, Beijing will be the focus of all worlds’ attention.The world trusts Beijing and that’s why Beijing won the bid.We will grasp this opportunity and do our best.We are not yet ready but we will be by the year 2008.讓我們一起祝福北京祝福2008年北京奧運會吧！謝謝！

Let’s all wish the best for the 2008 Olympic games in Beijing.Thanks.My Dream For the Beijing Olympics.Six years ago,Mr.Samaranch annouced that the beijing had won the bid for（投標）the 29th olympic games.Then my only dream was to learn english well to enjoy watching the great Beijing Olympic events.Sine then i have been working very hard at English.With the year 2008 coming however , i'm dreaming of becoming an excellent volunteer at the Beijing Olympic Games,an emissary（n.使者）who is able to help to build a bridge of friendship between China and other nations.This bridge will tell the world about both Acient Chinese Culture and passional Chinese for the Beijing Olympics.Furthermore, i'd like to introduce something special in my hometown to the whole world such as Xunwei Ham , Pu'er Tea（普洱茶）, the Stone Forest and the beautiful Spring City--Kunming.One world , one dream , let's be one heart and one mind to meet in Beijing next year!我的北京奧運會夢想

六年前,先生薩馬蘭奇宣布,北京獲得申辦第二十九屆奧運會的資格.我唯一的夢想就是要學好英語,以觀賞偉大的北京奧運盛會.必要的話,我已經(jīng)很努力在英文.與2008年來,但我夢想著成為一名優(yōu)秀的義工,在2008年北京奧運會的使者,一個能夠幫助建立了友誼之橋中國及其他國家.這座橋將告訴全世界,無論中國古代文化和中國中國人民對北京奧運會的熱情.再次,我想著重介紹一些我的家鄉(xiāng)特產(chǎn),讓整個世界都知道如宣威火腿,普洱茶,石林和美麗的春城--昆明.同一個世界,同一個夢想,讓我們要同心同德,為迎接明年在北京!
