為高中英語選修課把脈

在由教育部制訂并頒布的《基礎教育課程改革綱要（試行）》中，明確指出，在開設必修課的同時，設置豐富多樣的選修課程，開設技術類課程。積極試行學分管理。這無疑是新一輪普通高中課程改革的又一特色。雖然，選修課對于大多數人來說并不新鮮，但在高中開展選修課，學分制，還是讓許多工作在高中第一線的教育工作者感到有些不適應。而在選修課的教學實施中，也的確出現了不少問題。是不是出現了這些問題我們就該放棄選修課了呢？許多人提出了這樣的質疑，本文將結合英語學科為選修課進行診脈，看看選修課是否能在高中順利開展。

一、高中英語選修課的內容。

在《英語課程標準（實驗）》第一部分，課程設計思路專題中明確指出：“為了體現課程改革的指導思想，高中英語課程采取必修課與選修課相結合的課程設置模式。”選修課分為兩個系列，系列I是在必修課模塊的1-5的基礎上，順序開設的課程，共有6個模塊（即英語6—英語11），模塊6-8的學習，可以達到八級目標要求，完成模塊9-11的學習可以達到九級目標的要求。系列II的課程為任意選修課程。這個系列的課程分為三類，即語言知識與技能類，語言應用類和欣賞類。語言知識與技能類包括：初級英語語法與修辭、英漢初級筆譯、英語應用文寫作、英語報刊閱讀、英語演講與辯論；語言應用類：文秘英語，科技英語，信息技術英語，初級經貿英語；欣賞類包括：英語文學欣賞入門、英語影視欣賞入門、英語戲劇與表演入門、英語歌曲欣賞。（陳琳，王薔，程小堂，2003）二 高中英語選修課開設的意義

癥狀：學生：喜歡上輔導課 老師：把選修課上成了補習課

病因： 應試教育思想的影響，高考與選修課不同步。

在《英語課程標準（實驗）》的第四部分－實施建議中，明確指出，“不能把選修課開設成應試的復習課或必修課的補習課。”即選修課與必修課之間是并列關系而非從屬關系。可是在選修課實施的過程中，我們卻發現，受歡迎的課往往是那些，與考試緊密相關的選修課。學生上選修課的目的往往是學習語法知識，或強化老師在必修課講的知識。因此，往往語言知識與技能類選修課頗受歡迎，而語言應用類與欣賞類往往無人問津，這是不是意味著同學們對這些課不感興趣呢。有些同學都表示，雖然覺得科技英語，影視入門等課會很有意思，但覺得高中課程繁忙，那些東西高考也不考就放棄了選擇。而且，高中階段選課，與大學選課不一樣，學生還沒有主見，很多時候還要聽家長的。而大部分一些家長，往往不讓學生選那些課。而大部分老師由于思想滯后，同時受升學壓力影響，往往放不開手腳，他們也愿意選擇復習課，常見的有開設 “定語從句探討”，“形容詞精講精析”等。這些選修課的設計理念仍停留在應試模式中，違背了新課改開設選修課的初衷。治療建議：

（1）高考加設選修專題

大家都知道，高考這個指揮棒，一直控制著高中的一線教學，為了追求高分，學生放棄了興趣，老師也放不開手腳，這樣必然造成選修課無法正常開展。而我們知道，高考制度不是一朝一夕能夠徹底改變的。那么我們不妨做一點小的調整。筆者建議在英語高考中，加設選修課考試項目，如果選了科技英語，就可加試著一門考試，作為大學錄取時的參考。這樣既可以增加學生選課動力，與老師開課激情，也有利于各高校選拔專業人才。（2）強調語言的習得

語言的學習分為兩種形式，一種是有意識的學習，一種是無意識得習得。而現在大多數老師學生以及家長，只重視語言的有意識學習，即語法，詞匯，與專項訓練。而大多數成功的外語學習者，著力點卻一般不在于此，他們注意平時的點滴積累，注意語感的形成，即語言得習得。著名語言學家Krashen也指出，語言是通過習得而來的，學習只是個監控手段。但在中國，由于沒有廣泛使用外語的環境下，老師開設一些如報刊閱讀，影視欣賞等選修課將為學生語言習得提供了更好的可能。學生通過這些課程，了解外國文化，接觸地道英語，形成語感，有利于外語水平的提高。而習得的過程往往不是一朝一夕之事，通常見成果較慢，因此，教師也需在這方面多對學生及其家長進行教育，讓他們認識到外語習得的特點及重要性。2.病癥二：貧血癥

癥狀：教師: 很多課不敢開，開了課效果也不好

教材：教材處理不當

病因：教師素質有限，沒有相應選修課教材

選修課的設置對教師知識的深度，廣度及專業技能都提出了挑戰。由于高中教師由于長期從事高中基礎教學，忽略了英語專業知識的學習，因此在專業知識水平的縱深方向發展緩慢。對于選修課系列I中的若干模塊課程，由于長期不接觸，自己尚不精通，教起來就就不如必修課那樣得心應手。對于選修課系列II重的一些課程，涉及范圍比較廣，使很多老師都措手不及。現在大部分師范學校培養的老師，只重視英語聽、說、讀、寫四項技能的培養，對于其他方面的英語知識一般知之甚少，因此開設這些課對于這些教師就十分困難。選修課沒有統一的教材。這就需要教師自主選用相關的材料作為教材。目前的情況是教師既沒有科學的選擇教材，又沒有根據教學需要對所選教材加以處理，致使選修課不僅達不到應有的效果，而且會扼殺學生的學習積極性，降低其學習熱情和學習興趣。另外，教師自身的語言素養和教學素養也使其在選擇教材是受到很大局限，造成了選修課教材良莠不齊。

治療建議：

（1）加強在職教師專業化培養。

教師的專業化培養，一直是教育界關心的問題，而且將影響新課改的實施效果 我們要幫助教師努力提高自身的專業素養，調整自己的知識結構和擴大知識面，以適應選修課給他們帶來的挑戰。（2）與當地大學合作

對于一些專業性很強的選修課，如文秘英語，科技英語等，可以聘請大學專業教師授課或知道，對于教材選擇上，也可以與之合作，選擇和編寫教材。在合作中，要注意與高中生的知識能力相吻合，切勿直接把大學選修課拿來搬到高中課堂上。可以結成大學教授于中學教師1+1的幫扶對子，爭取使選修課即質量高，又能適應高中生的能力發展。（3）與兄弟院校合作。

在選修課的事實上，有許多學校開展早，有許多經驗，各中學可以互相借鑒。比如北京匯文中學的報刊閱讀選修課和北京四種的影視欣賞選修課就開展的早，效果好，有很多經驗，值得其他學校借鑒學習。3.病癥三：僵化癥

癥狀：選修課上教學方法單一，教學評價方式單一。

病因：教學觀，學生觀和課程觀，語言觀僵化。

許多老師教學方法死板單一，他們仍持著傳統的語言觀，只重視語言的工具性，看不到語言的人文性。教學中，只強調知識點，而不強調應用，只強調結果，不強調過程。而且很多老師根本不會其他的教學方法，或對于新的教學方法也只停留在理論層面，根本不會應用，造成教學方法單一。在教學評價上，選修課的評價方式也只是考試，這無疑增加了學生的負擔，降低了學習興趣。

治療建議：

（1）樹立正確的教學觀，學生觀和課程觀，語言觀

通過理論學習與實踐相結合的方式，幫助教師更新觀念。在實際教學中鼓勵教師用多種方法教學，可以把教學方法的多樣性作為教學評估的重要因素，提高教師應用新的教學方法的積極性。

（2）建立多元化和多樣性的評價體系。

根據選修課本身的特點和要求，探索生動、活潑和靈活多樣的評價方式，如果課程標準中提及的專題演講、辯論、表演、和撰寫小論文等，使選修課既能激發學生的興趣，又能使學生保持適當的壓力。4.病癥四：疲勞癥

癥狀：老師感到力不從心

病因： 老師壓力大，任務重，教師之間合作少。

在必修模塊的教學中，老師的工作量就已經很大了，加上了高考壓力，職稱評定壓力，許多教師已經苦不堪言。而選修課模塊多，每個模塊涉及的知識面寬，內容新，要求也不一樣。老師的工作量就自不必說了。再加上很多選修課老師還要自己選教材，設置活動，許多老師都叫苦不迭。而且教師之間，由于互相競爭嚴重，缺乏合作精神，使原本可以簡化的工作變得很復雜。

治療建議：切實減輕教師負擔，促進教師合作。

學校應該切實關心教師生活，派課時多考慮老師的實際情況，使老師能得到合理的休息。選修模塊的授課可采取合作授課制，每個老師根據其擅長，選擇模塊，選擇任務，做到合理分工，讓每位教師都能在發揮所長的基礎上，又不致過于勞累。

四、結束語

高中選修課作為一個新生事物，還在實驗的初級階段，他必然存在著許多問題。但筆者認為這些“病”，還不至于致命，只要我們能做相應調整，相信高中選修課會顯示它獨有的魅力的。一切就有待時間的考驗了。
