By Mojor [高二（8）班 朱俊超] It’s a sad story about a beautiful and kind-hearted goddess callde Esmeralda and a ugly but virtuous bell ringer called Quasimodo.They perform a haunting legend.The Cathedral of Notre Dame is one of the most famous books written by Hugo.It’s a great novel with powerful thinking and artistic charm, and full of humanitarian and romanticism.A great novel lies not only in its twists plot, but also in the way to make characters and reflect the fact.Then it can make people a great hit.“ The Cathedral of Notre Dame ” has achieved this point!Its plot is unusual and stress,characters are exaggerated,the kind and the innocent were ruled under autocracy of the medieval feudal, they suffered persecution without mercy......Such a tragedy, is enough to make readers feel angry about the social which is full of feudal things in that time……

Beautiful and kind-hearted goddess Esmeralda has beautiful appearance, but the point is that she has a kind heart.When she saved the poor poet, sent water and compassion to Quasimodo who had ever hurt herself, I realise she was a real beauty,with a mind without any dirt.She is such a great model!She is deeply imprinted in my heart, let me know the essence of beauty ——the real beauty always form after so many tribulations with courage and brave.This is a rebel!However, such a girl like an angel, was so badly treated and in the end she made sacrifices and left her sweet smile and beautiful dance in the memory of mine……

The call of the wild Although Quasimodo’s appearance is very ugly, the good mind make him a lovely man.He gradually waked by Esmeralda and gave Esmeralda all his love, To save Esmeralda,he pushed down his adoptive father from the building.At last he died with her in peace.The dark society made the deaf Quasimodo would never stand in front of true happiness.But in my eyes, ugly or not, for such a great man is not important, because his words and deeds, his thinking are enough to build up a tall,beautiful and brilliant image.Although his fate is as miserable as Esmeralda’s,he is still worth being made up a great song!

The profound inspiration I seem to see the intense struggle of characters indistinctly.There is a sense of shock in my mind.In this novel no one is perfect, everyone has shortcomings;no one is entirely rational,evryone exists with human’s crazy more or less.This is a contest between justness and evil, between beauty and ugliness, between pure and dirty, is a picture with full-blooded love.The author Hugo descrips most lower level people in old Paris with his great compassion, such as vagrants and beggars.They were in rads, but they were far better than people who are not brave, upright and friendly……

The darkness of the society and humanity, created such a tragedy.Hugo has ever said that The Cathedral of Notre Dame is “the stone of the symphony”, and when I listen to it, I heard a song of souls with shock and grief!

About the Notre Dame cathedral 《 Notre Dame cathedral》 is one known far and wide romantic faction strength which Victor Hugo writes.I read this great book these days.In this story, I saw not only friendly relationships and beautiful character, but also the flow selfish desire.Regardless of is good beautiful Asmelada, or has the ugly semblance, Cacimodo with one pure mind, they represent the great amount the lower level populace which suppresses.Perhaps is sinister Coloud, he is appears by the theocracy face, all load bearing one kind of author’s ponder.In this story,I like Cacimodo best.Whatever the book described him ugly,it can’t stop my love of this role.It seems that if someone is a little good to him, he will return you more and more and take you as his god.However, people is so mean to such a little bit.So we are also very easy to understand why Asmelada just gave him some water, he can move to tears.I think he told me the meaning of true.He can bury his own deep love of Asmelada, he knew that he was not good with her, he just hoped he could have quietly by her side to protect her.He could do everything for her.In order to not let Asmelada sad , he didn’t told her that Phoebus has already married though she maybe blame him.In order to her, he try his best to stop beggars broke into Notre Dame.He is a real man!

The book touched me the most is that the nun protect Asmelada in the room.She is a wonderful mother because she protected her daughter in the last minute.In that time, she forgot other identities, only remember that she is just a mother.By reading this book, I thought my life carefully.A person's appearance does not mean anything, the key is what he has and wheather he has a good soul.

Notre Dame Cathedral

Notre Dame Cathedral is a world famous masterpiece.In my eyes, the high reputation of it probably because the protagonist, Quasimodo.A badly ugly bell-ringer, growing up in a church, following Dom Claude Rollo the Archdeacon completely submit the Archdeacon.At the beginning, I thought Quasimodo didn’t have the sense of right and wrong.There was a period of time when my aversion to Quasimodo was increasing rapidly.However, I gradually find that he is so much innocent and pure.At the last part of the opus, Quasimodo unexpectedly found that the Archdeacon he following also fall into deep love with the gipsy-girl.To avoid others getting the girl, the Archdeacon attempted to kill the knight but didn’t succeed.The Archdeacon thought it should be destroyed if he can’t own himself.Finally, the Archdeacon cruelly killed the charming girl.Meanwhile, Quasimodo pushed the Archdeacon into abyss.What moved me most is the last few of paragraphs.When people found the corpse of the girl, they discovered another one, a malformed man corpse.He held the girl so tightly that he turned into powder when they were separated.A incarnation of justice, Rollo Archdeacon is actually the evil backstage manipulator.A beautiful but humble girl, La Esmeralda is actually so brave to love , to hate.An ugly monster, Quasimodo, changed from submitting to independently judge right or wrong.All he ever loved are died.His heart is so fervent that he is wiling to company with the girl’s corpse even if reduced to ashes.As the saying goes that ,don’t judge a person from his appearance.Good and evil can never be distinguished by one’s surface.When confronted with the seamy side of pretty things, everyone’s heart would be struck.However, sometimes these things truly happen in our daily life.Life isn’t so bad as we thought and it also isn’t so good as we thought.Face the imperfect society and be true to yourself.These are my personal notions.Thanks for your review.
