一個人，只有他的心中不被太多的自我、虛偽和傲慢裝滿，他的心中才可能裝入他人、誠實與謙虛；一個人，只有心中不被太多的無知、虛榮和金錢裝滿，才可能裝入智慧、務實與真情；一個人只有心中不被太多的邪惡、卑鄙和丑陋裝滿，才可能裝入正義，高尚與美麗。人和人生來并沒多大的差別，可是為什么有的人功成名就，有的人卻一事無成呢？最大的原因是前者“留一些空杯子”虛心接納；而后者卻自我滿足，自以為是，最終固步自封，自己淘汰了自己。

燒水，水太多就會延長加熱的時間，為何不倒掉一些水，多添一些柴呢？這看似簡單，卻蘊含著豐富的人生道理。人也是一樣的，只有刪繁就簡，從最近的目標開始，才會一步步走向成功。萬事掛懷，只會半途而廢。我們只有不斷地撿拾“柴”，才能使人生不斷加溫，最終讓生命沸騰起來。

一位青年滿懷煩惱去找一位智者，他大學畢業后，曾豪情萬丈地為自己樹立了許多目標，可是幾年下來，依然一事無成。

他找到智者。智者微笑著聽完青年的傾訴，對他說：“來，你先幫我燒壺開水！”

青年看見墻角放著一把極大的水壺，旁邊是一個小火灶，可是沒發現柴火，于是便出去找。

他在外面拾了一些枯枝回來，裝滿一壺水，便燒了起來，可是由于壺太大，那捆柴燒盡了，水也沒開。于是他跑出去繼續找柴，回來的時候那壺水已經涼得差不多了。這回他學聰明了，沒有急于點火，而是再次出去找了些柴，由于柴準備充足，水不一會就燒開了。智者忽然問他：“如果沒有足夠的柴，你該怎樣把水燒開？”

青年想了一會，搖了搖頭。

智者說：“如果那樣，就把水壺里的水倒掉一些！”

青年若有所思地點了點頭。

智者接著說：“你一開始躊躇滿志，樹立了太多的目標，就像這個大水壺裝了太多水一樣，而你又沒有足夠的柴，所以不能把水燒開，要想把水燒開，你或者倒出一些水，或者先去準備柴！”

青年恍然大悟。回去后，他把計劃中所列的目標去掉了許多，只留下最近的幾個，同時利用業余時間學習各種專業知識。幾年后，他的目標基本上都實現了。

只有刪繁就簡，從最近的目標開始，才會一步步走向成功。萬事掛懷，只會半途而廢。另外，我們只有不斷地撿拾“柴”，才能使人生不斷加溫，最終讓生命沸騰起來。

疤痕溢出的清香明飛龍

罕見的特大冰雹，傷痕累累的蘋果致使蘋果園主面臨破產；因為蘋果園主的細心挖掘、出眾的智慧，讓他轉憂為喜渡過難關。

一顆果實，要經歷嚴寒酷暑，才有成熟的芬芳；一棵小樹，要經歷狂風暴雨，才能成為參天棟梁。人，同樣需要經歷坎坎坷坷。不要抱怨生活的磨難，正是這磨難讓我們的人生如同文中遭遇冰雹襲擊的蘋果一樣洋溢著生命的芳香。

在美國新墨西哥州高原地區有一位蘋果園主，因為獨到的經營手段，他的生意越來越紅火，在整個美國都產生了較大的影響。每年，當他把蘋果裝好后發往全國各地時，便在報紙上登一則這樣的廣告：“如果您對收到的蘋果不滿意，請函告本人，蘋果不必退貨，貨款則照退不誤。”這種絕無僅有的廣告語年年都吸引大批的買主，再加上高原產區的蘋果清香爽口，很少污染，因為備受人們的喜愛。

但不幸的事發生了。有一年高原上突然降臨了一次百年罕見的特大冰雹，把那些成熟閃光的蘋果打得傷痕累累。此時，蘋果已經訂出了上千噸，如果按照廣告上說的那樣賠款，勢必會徹底破產。如果違背廣告承諾的話，那就意味著以后再也找不找顧客，同樣也會破產。蘋果園主心事重重地走在傷痕遍地的蘋果園中，想著補救的辦法。他痛心地看著那些被冰雹打落的蘋果，俯身拾起一個，用手擦了擦便狠狠地咬了一口。忽然間，他發現被冰雹打擊后的蘋果肉變得格外的清香，且那香味是那樣的甘醇。一個絕妙的主意向他腦海中涌來。他趕忙走出蘋果園，吩咐工作人員像往常一樣把蘋果定時發出，只是在每一箱蘋果上都附上一張小卡片：“這些蘋果個個帶疤痕，那是今年冰雹的‘杰作’，也是高原地區出產的蘋果的標記，也許因為‘苦難’的洗禮，它們個個果緊肉實，味道妙不可言。”買主們半信半疑地嘗了一口，發現真的是“妙不可言”。

那成千噸遍體鱗傷的蘋果在很短的時間內便被搶購一空。

這是偶爾在一本關于做生意的雜志上看到的一則故事。在這則故事中，我們除了看出那蘋果園主的智慧外，還能讀出什么呢？

其實，我們每個人都猶如蘋果，既有甘醇的清香，也會遭遇各種“冰雹”的襲擊，甚至也會變得傷痕累累。此時，我們不必自怨自艾，更不必痛不欲生，對生活徹底失望。只要我們能像蘋果園主一樣充分挖掘自己，那么，透過那“疤痕”，我們也同樣可以品嘗到一種更加濃烈的生命清香。

你能做成任何事

一切勝利只屬于各方面都有把握的人。那些即使有機會也不敢把握、不能自信成功的人，只能獲得一個失敗的結局。惟有那些有十足的信心、能堅持自己的意見、有奮斗勇氣的人，才能保持在事業上的雄心，才能獲得成功。

一黑人母親帶女兒到伯明翰買衣服。一白人店員擋住女兒，不讓她進試衣間試穿，傲慢地說：“此試衣間只有白人才能用，你們只能去儲藏室里一間專供黑人用的試衣間。”可母親根本不理睬，她冷冰冰地對店員說：“我女兒今天如果不能進這間試衣間，我就換一家店購衣！”女店員為留住生意，只好讓她們進了這間試衣間，自己則站在門口望見，生怕有人看到。那情那景，讓女兒感觸頗深。

又一次，女兒在一家店里摸了摸帽子而受到白人店員的訓斥，這位母親再次挺身而出

“請不要這樣對我的女兒說話。”然后，她對女兒說：“康蒂。你現在把這店里的每一頂帽子都摸一下吧。”女兒快樂地按母親的吩咐，真把每頂自己喜愛的帽子都摸了一遍，那個女店員只能站在旁干瞪眼。

對這些歧視和不公，母親對女兒說：“記住，孩子，這一切都會改變的。這種不公正不是你的錯，你的膚色和你的家庭是你不可分割的一部分，這無法改變也沒有什么不對。要改變自己低下的社會地位，只有做比別人好、更好，你才會有機會。”

從那一刻起不卑不屈成了女兒受用一生的財富。她堅信只有教育才能讓自己獲得知識，做得比別人更好；教育不僅是她自身完善的手段，還是她捍衛自尊和超越平凡的武器！

后來，這位出生在亞拉巴馬伯明翰種族隔離區的黑丫頭，榮登“福布斯”雜志“2004年全世界最有權勢女人”寶座，她就是美國國務卿賴斯。

賴斯回憶說：“母親對我說，康蒂，你的人生目標不是眾‘白人專用’的店里買到漢堡包，而是，只要你想，并且為之奮斗，你就有可能做成任何大事。”心靈感悟很多時候，現實是無奈的，有很多東西我們無法選擇，但我們卻可以選擇奮斗，雖然歧視和不公制造灰暗，但同時也催生了奮斗。所以，只要我們充滿自信并挺直脊梁，就沒有人能讓我們自慚形穢。
