記得那天的第一節(jié)英語課，老師就打下了預(yù)防針。老師把我們?nèi)喾至耸€小組。每天上課檢查課文和單詞的背誦，實際上就是兩個人分別各背一遍，誰背得又快又好，就贏了，加分；輸了，就扣分。另外每人每天都要教聽力條，不交的，扣20分。另外，每學(xué)期都要一清分，正分的組，有獎勵。負(fù)分的組，需挑一人抄課文。老師剛一說完，全班好象炸開了鍋，議論紛紛：這課還怎么上啊，這制度簡直要人命啊！就是呀，這哪是上課啊！我抗議！不少同學(xué)直接提出抗議，結(jié)果老師給全班小組都扣了30分，某些同學(xué)被罰今晚抄課文，全班同學(xué)都傻了。立刻變得鴉雀無聲。
下了課，同學(xué)們憤憤不平，可是，又能怎么樣呢？我們班的鬧事大王可是頭一次吃這么打的虧，頭一次遇到這么嚴(yán)厲的老師。不少同學(xué)在默默背課文，強壓著心里的怒火。
第二天上課上，老師第一件事就是查聽力字條。結(jié)果，全班不少小組都吃了啞巴虧，扣分像流水似的。之后老師又檢查課文背誦，有好幾個同學(xué)像結(jié)巴了一樣，支支吾吾了半天，什么也沒背出來，結(jié)果每人被罰抄課文，又扣了20分，只能悻悻離去。同學(xué)們一個個大眼瞪小眼，驚恐的看著老師。
就這樣，幾個月下來，全班小組都成了負(fù)分，這意味著，全班寒假都要抄課文了。同學(xué)們很多都垂頭喪氣，任人宰割。但是還得學(xué)習(xí)。但有一天，事件終于迎來了轉(zhuǎn)機。
這天，剛一上課，英語課代表就把手舉得高高的。干什么呀？老師拿書敲了一下桌子，問英語課代表。老師嚴(yán)肅的目光又有點讓人害怕，看著課代表。課代表趕緊避開英語老師的目光，說：我要挑戰(zhàn)。剛說完，全班好幾十雙眼睛齊刷刷的瞪著她。她頓了一下，可能是對老師的威嚴(yán)有點兒害怕。我要挑戰(zhàn)，她轉(zhuǎn)過身，指向副課代表老趙。他。這時，全班的目光又投向了老趙。誰？站起來！老師那敏銳的雙眼仔細(xì)瞧著每一個同學(xué)，老趙還沒起來，老師已經(jīng)走到他身邊了。老趙站了起來，目光慌亂，低頭看著桌子。這時，老趙的同桌一再給他打氣。小聲說：緊張什么呀？咱們不可能讓女生給比下去。準(zhǔn)備好了嗎，那就開始吧。老師的話語中帶著鼓勵。老趙抬起頭來，他的目光與老師的目光相遇了，仿佛擦出了火花。他知道，不比不行了。

從此，在英語課上，要比賽的人絡(luò)繹不絕。記得是快期末考試的時候，上級教育主管部門來我們學(xué)校抽查各門學(xué)科成績。我們班在全級里是成績最好的，在口語課上，別的班的同學(xué)不少都磕磕絆絆，而我們班同學(xué)們大多同色的完成了老師的提問。并且很多同學(xué)都對答如流。為什么呢？這都是在課文比拼中，大家都鍛練了自己英語靈活運用能力和表達的勇氣，培養(yǎng)了同學(xué)們的沉著和機智，以及爭強好勝向上的心！
