Secretly from Neighbor’s Wall
In the Western Han Dynasty there was a Chinese man named Kuang Heng.Kuang Heng was born in a poor family, but he was diligent in his study. As his family was too poor to afford to buy a candle for him, he often felt sad when evening came.Every evening he could see the candle-light from his neighbor, but the light could not reach his home.Later, an idea came to him-to secretly make a small hole in the wall and let a glimmer of light come in through the hole. This stealing light allowed him to study until late at night. When he grew up he became a very famous scholar in the Western Han Dynasty. The original meaning of this idiom is to make a hole in the wall and read a book by stealing the light from a neighbor.Later it came to refer to insisting on studying under very hard conditions and achieving success finally.Task Two Translate the following passage into Chinese.

Part VI Academic Writing: Plagiarism & Academic Integrity Version 1 is a case of straight plagiarism since the writer almost copied the original word by word with only a slight change in choice of words without any acknowledgement or citation of the source.Version 2 is an example of plagiarism even though the author acknowledges a debt to “Professor Hexham,” because appropriate quotation marks are not used nor are we given a page reference to the source.Version 3 also commits plagiarism.Note the flattering use of “insightful”, and minor changes to the text such as the substitution of “Dr” for “General”, and “Volk” for “People.” Note also that quotations marks are still not used even though they are required, nor are we given an exact page number.Version 4 is a correct usage since the citation of source is clearly indicated and quotation mark is used.Part VII Developing Skills: An E-mail Cover Letter
